I can see that you are right, just remove the O2 sensor and not deal with the kazoom pipe... I was wondering about that... still, he did a good job either way... just saying...
Thanks for the video. Helped me cut to the chase. I am not a mechanic but I've easily changed out starters on 350 Chevys before but newer cars drive me nuts.
Thanks for a great video that made changing the starter on my 2004 Santa Fe simple. The Haynes manual states that some models may require exhaust system removal, but does not specify exactly how to accomplish this. This video proves that seeing is believing. Well done!
Great video. Very helpful. Thanks! I was able to swap a starter on a 2003 3.5l Sante Fe without removing the exhaust at all, as the O2 sensor is in a different location.
The only thing you didn't have to do was actually loosen the exhaust there's plenty of room to get the starter out without taking off the exhaust well thank you your video helped a lot
this car looked pretty good rust wise, try this when the exhaust is a rusty mess, the video name would then be starter motor and exhaust replacement, lols
used this video to successfully change my starter , very good video......Thank u so much I saved like 200$ doing it myself instead of taking it to mechanic
I only had to pull the o2 sensor and wiggle the heat shield out. The starter came out between the exhaust manifold and oil pan just fine with no issues. The removal of exhaust bolts will more then likely break causing way more problems !
that rear manifold exhaust pipe is such a pain in the ass to remove. Very little space to work, and any bit of rust and you can't get your socket around the bolt. Fun times.
Is it all the same for all of the motor sizes? I know the 2.7 and 3.5 are same starter but what about 2.4? Is it the exact same wag taking it off and putting back on do you know?
Awesome video! Very helpful. Great attention to detail. And saving ppl $! In the words of Unknown Henson -"Out-standinder than hell!" Thumbs up! Subbed!
What size is the thing used to remove the B+ bolt? I am trying to fix this myself and am the least technically inclined person i know. So im having a bit of a hard time. 😅
i have this model Santa Fe and I did no if it's the starter I try to start the car the lights come on but once I try to turn the car all the lights go off but I can still hear that buzzing sound kind of
Yes it is...and yes, I've replaced the spark plugs. The front aren't bad...the back requires the plenum to be removed. Got a vid on that as well. Thanks for watching!
The main thing about this is that I'm impressed how the automotive industry has taken what was once simple and turned it into a freaking abortion. No wonder that it now costs a arm and a leg to have any work done at a shop.
Yeah, nowadays they cram everything into a small engine compartment, after they've turned the engine sideways (front-wheel-drive). Plus, they make things so that the average DIY mechanic won't want to do a repair, even if they have the tools to do so. Thanks for watching, Mark!
this video will be infinitely useful for as long as these cars are on the road. 7 yrs later and you’ve helped me . I’m very appreciative
Excellent filming and editing, no blah, blah, blah, just wrenching, loved it. Thanks for the how-to video. You earned a subscriber.
Thanks, Dave! Believe me, no one would want hear me blah, blah, blah. Thanks for watching!
I liked you video because the others didn't show how to reconnect the wires! Thank you!
This is nice and clear. I like that there’s instructions instead. This video is 100+
All you gotta do is take the o2 sensor out of the way and it slips right out. Saves you a lot of time. Just got this done in 1 hour

There was some small distinctions in my 04 Santa Fe, but the overall steps were awesome to follow. Took me about 3 1/2 hrs to replace the starter.
Do you remember what they were?
Great video. Very helpful. Thanks! I was able to swap a starter on a 2003 3.5l Sante Fe without removing the exhaust at all, as the O2 sensor is in a different location.
Thank you for such a thorough explanation.
The only thing you didn't have to do was actually loosen the exhaust there's plenty of room to get the starter out without taking off the exhaust well thank you your video helped a lot
Without removing the o2 sensor or the exhaust you cannot get the cover out because that damn o2 sensor wire is in the way.
this car looked pretty good rust wise, try this when the exhaust is a rusty mess, the video name would then be starter motor and exhaust replacement, lols
Much appreciated 🙏
The video is accurate 💯
It took me about 2 hrs w/o disconnecting the exhaust
l did have a forklift to assist wihich made it an easy replacement
Your video helped me change out the starter in my 05 Tuscon. Many Thanks!!!
used this video to successfully change my starter , very good video......Thank u so much I saved like 200$ doing it myself instead of taking it to mechanic
Glad it helped! I'm all for mechanics on the deep, heavy stuff. But if you can do it yourself and save, I say "Do it"! Thanks for watching
Thanks bro
MORE THAN THAT!!!!

EXCELLENT ILLUSTRATION!!! SO APPRECIATIVE!!!
Thanks, Toby...hoped the vid helped. Thanks for watching!

Can I get to the electrical components without doing all that, a rat chewed my wiring?
Audio would have been great so that I could listen as I worked instead of having to try to stop and read. useful anyway. Thanks.
I watched your video, here goes it

Thank great video
Would it be bad if you forget to clip the O2 sensor back to the bracket?
Awesome video! Very helpful. Great attention to detail. And saving ppl $! In the words of Unknown Henson -"Out-standinder than hell!" Thumbs up! Subbed!
Thanks! I hope you got the starter in...it tends to help get to work on time :) Thanks for watching!
Does this work for a 2003 Hyundai XG350?
What size is the thing used to remove the B+ bolt? I am trying to fix this myself and am the least technically inclined person i know. So im having a bit of a hard time. 😅
it's most likely a 10mm or 12mm socket. He is using a wrench here most likely due to the small work area.
according to this video ua-cam.com/video/yjLhSgiNeOo/v-deo.html it's a 12mm nut
i have this model Santa Fe and I did no if it's the starter I try to start the car the lights come on but once I try to turn the car all the lights go off but I can still hear that buzzing sound kind of
Whats that ratchet he's using I need 5 of those asap
Great!
What are the wires connected to the exhaust? The ones right in the middle throughout the video. I found they are broken in my car.
The only wire I saw was the O2 sensor?
Oxegen sensor
What a pain in the ass ! Try replacing all six spark plugs !
Yes it is...and yes, I've replaced the spark plugs. The front aren't bad...the back requires the plenum to be removed. Got a vid on that as well. Thanks for watching!
That is a frustrating knuckle busting job. Transmission is next, has to be easier.
What happen if I don’t install the heat shield?
Pls answer I’m working on it rn
Heat from the exhaust will shorten the life of your starter. Thanks for watching, Hector!
I fear remove exhaust screw, may be broken
That's not it u don't half to do all that my brother changed mine in 10 mins
Justin Roberts where is it then?
Have & Half..... Choose wisely. 🤔

i agree with these statement heavily .
