You're not missing out on a lot anyway. I got myself a 29 inch ultrawide and man, I get dizzy if I dont sit far enough. The spot where I sit should be exact too. Otherwise, I can't see anything.
Start with a good desk with enough space and an ergonomic chair. 🙂

Asthmatic here! For the dust get a germ guardian air purifier. UVC light within the unit kills pathogens while the charcoal pre-filter and HEPA filter eliminate dust and other crap you can’t see. They’re quiet and super aesthetically pleasing. Would fit into your office decor tbh. Dust kills electronics too. Anyway love the setup. Love the art frame, too. So much inspo in this video! Thank you!

I have to admit I’m a little bit disorganized. But I absolutely love a clean and uncluttered desk. I try to keep it organized no matter what. Maybe it’s because its enticing and it helps me concentrate and work more productively. Loved the video, by the way.

Liked the video, and as someone who is constantly surrounded by a mess I can empathize with you. The cleaned up space looks nice, and thank you so much for linking that lamp...it is phenomenal and a fairly inexpensive way to spruce up the desk (while adding utility).
I have a two-part question. First, can someone be bored with their current office set up even if he/she has everything, and second have you been in this situation like this before? If so how do you get motivated to stay comfortable with what you have w/o going overboard?

@DailyTekk. why do you have to put the charging port on top if you dont want to see it lol. maybe you can put it under but still very accessible. plus it will hide your charging pad cable.

I'm looking for support in finding a monitor to setup an home office area. I have a MICKE IKEA desk (50cm depth). I will be connecting my MacBook Pro 15 2017 to it via USBC and also my Lenovo laptop (for work). On my MacBook, for fun I mainly surf or do video editing on FCPX. On my work, it's mostly emails/powerpoints.
My plan is to use this arm to allow full deck clearance and add a keyboard and a bluetooth mouse; probably from Logi.
I'm hesitating to go either for 27 or 32 and made the following selection. Some people say that for 4K monitors because of the scaling it's ok to do it even at 50/70cm from the screen.
For 32, this is the one that is within my budget : BenQ EW3280U
For 27, I have shortlisted this one : LG 27UL850-W
What would you recommend?

did you have any issues with using the 49" monitor with the MacBook Pro? I have read a lot of reviews on Amazon where people are only able to get 1080P resolution when hooking up a MacBook to a monitor of this size. I want one but if there are issues with this combination, I would rather pass.

Talking of getting organised. Do you have any tips on everyday bags? I have a MacBook Air and a new iPad Pro and want to safely take them to work and travel with but I also have all my other stuff like purse, phone, cables, chargers, book/kindle etc. All essential keep at hand items when travelling and out and about but I can’t seem to find a convenient and accessible bag that hits the spot and helps me stay organised when out and about. I know it’s off topic but if anyone has any suggestions I’d be most grateful.

Hello, I am brand new to Apple & know almost nothing about computers in general... I wanted to know, does it affect your MacBook Pro by using that 49 in screen? As in does it heat up? Do you have any tips/tricks for that, I've been trying to figure out what's healthiest for my Mac, & I need more than one screen, but when I put it on another screen the temp rises up to about 70 C, versus around 35 C with just the Mac alone
I’m sure you’re already familiar but check out IKEA Signum for cable management. I suck at cable management and it’s still a rats nest underneath my desk but it’s much less visible. Also I bought industrial strength Velcro and used that to attach my surge protector to the underside of my desk towards the back. You can do this with those annoying power supplies but your mileage may vary as those can heat up, I usually just leave those in the Signum. This gives the desk a clean look unless you’re my 3 year old and are eye level with the underside of my desk!
I'm going to buy an LG 49WL95C-W to use with my MBP 16". Since the MBP 16" power supply is 100w and the LG 49WL95C-W USB-C max output is 85W, is the LG 49WL95C-W USB-C able to charge the MBP 16"? I mean... can I connect the MBP with just 1 USB-C cable? Or I need to the power supply too?
Where do you keep your router/modem? I am just curious. Right now mine are sitting on my desk and I definitely want to get them off. Getting a new desk and an iMac in a couple of weeks
Try Logitech MX master 3 mouse, it was designed to pair up with MX keys and since iPad now support cursor, the mouse will also change with the keyboard if you trynna switch between devices, the keyboard-mouse set up will definitely work harmoniously together

I'm totally that person that will watch what others are doing to clean up or organize their desk set ups, I don't know what I'm doing :-D. I'm totally rethinking how to better do cord management with my two power surge protectors. At my old office I used the cord tubing to organize and even disguise cords running up to my monitor and chargers. A video on cord management on your home set up, now that would be great!

I enjoy the way did your set up. Unfortunately I have 2 mac desk top computers and with 27 and 32 inches monitors running all the time and a WiFi HP Laser Printer, Then I was able to do a nice setup only with 2 desks.

How did you connect the Macbook with the Monitor ?
The staggering excess so prevalent in the US is extraordinary to a foreigner. And most of that 'stuff' is made in China by underpaid workers in stifling conditions. And it lands up in landfills. Has the time not arrived to simplify and reduce consumption?
If you can afford it is it considered excess? That “stuff” are tools for his work. Just because you have a working hand saw doesn’t mean it would be excessive to buy a battery saw to increase your work production. Also most Apple products don’t just get tossed away. They salvage parts off old devices all the time. Not everyone can be happy being a minimalist. Some work hard and want something to show for it other than cash in the bank.

Chris my Mx keys on my iPad was lagging big time have you had this issue. I was doing a similar set up but the Mx keys on the iPad had a problem after a few days.
