That is a great looking desk setup Kyle. I started working at home when the pandemic hit, and to accommodate my work laptop and monitor I set up an L-shaped affair with work gear on the right and fun stuff in front. Most of the time it's a cluttered mess (no feng shui here) but it's very functional so I'm happy with it.
whatever works, as long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters!
This is an incredible setup man, I loved the things you have arranged in a more minimal and aesthetically pleasing way, loving the speakers, which I'll never be getting here where I belong sadly. But hand down to one of the best setups I have seen. Just one suggestion can you please make a separate video about installing the Govee strip underneath the desk as you have done with yours which is going all over and to the front as well, I have bought 10M and my top is 6ft by 2.5ft and I don't know how I am gonna install these all together as wires of both 5M meter strips are connected and cannot be separated not the strip is cuttable and also don't want to cut it as other will go in vain.

From my experience for the next iteration of your workspace, I can recommend putting the desk on wheels. Even if all the use of wheels is that it's easier to get to the back of the desk, you'll appreciate it. And if you find that you'd rather move to the window in the morning, for example, or if you want to pull the desk up to the couch, if you want to take pity on your prostate and work in a half-lying position, and you can do that perfectly easily, you'll even thank me. You can borrow the module for the power cable roll-up from the vacuum cleaner. Cheers!

After I bought a separate dead mouse( CST2545-5W ) I have not yet been able to go back to a regular mouse. Main benefits are real estate and number og buttons, while it has a separate "hamster wheel" for scrolling.

I hacked my Ikea desk with a piece of shelfing and some Capita legs to add shelf. Looks and works great.

So i see that you praise the > LG 27UP850-W < and i was thinking to buy it right away tbh, but then i found 1 more option which is praised very much by other people as well.... wanted to ask what you think about it > Dell UltraSharp U2723QE < ?? would appreciate your response very highly sir!

I'm considering how to build my setup for a transition from an office job to work-from-home. I appreciate the detail you have put into this video! I was curious how you do all your editing work on a single 27" monitor. Do you ever find yourself pressed to step up to something larger? Second, what microphone are you using for recording? Now I use a 27" studio display, and I never find myself needing anything else. I think when I made this video, the mic was a deity S Mic 2, but I've since moved to a rode broadcaster.

is this monitor good for macos? Don't have any problems with scaling/resolution etc?
I think the issue about music lag with the Sonos has to do with airplay and Spotify. I might be wrong but I noticed it as well with my speaker and I use the HomePod mini for my desk setup. When I watch movies it works perfectly but whenever I AirPlay music from Spotify with my HomePod mini, it lags sometimes.
I don't mind it for music, but regardless if I use the line in adapter or bluetooth outside AirPlay, the lag and the glitchy nature of playback isn't something I'm prepared to endure lol

I have a calibration tool I use most of the time, but these are calibrated from the factory, so honestly just leaving it on the default usually works best.

my mx master 3 has big input lag even with updated software. Why is everyone using this mouse? i cant get used to the delayed response
with 4k monitor don't you have any scalling issue. about famous macos scalling problem.?

@@KyleErickson I use Apple Extended Keyboard II or Das Keyboard BADASS 4 mx brown. Tactile feedback is imperative; not having to see the character appear on screen is what does it.

man, your videos are on another level! Except the "star" of my setup, I kinda followed you to the letter. I opted for my trusty M1 MBP, a 15" 2019 i9, 32Gb Ram and 8Gb Video Radeon and a Windows HP laptop (some 113XX) productivity laptop ... should I pull the trigger on the chair also, keeping in mind I'm an "older" pro, with bad back pain 😅🤣 ... really great stuff mate, please keep it up with these great videos!
