    Mistking specifically says in the manual you have to gravity feed your pump,for proper longevity of the pump..

    • @taylorhickman84
      @taylorhickman84 Рік тому

      I believe that is more so that the mist starts as soon as the pump is triggered, regardless a "how to" video should include that information.

      super unfortunate that the MOST important point in MistKing's own installation manual is to gravity feed the pump. They state it more than once, with diagrams of what NOT to do, yet these guys just appear to ignore that and install it "wrong" anyways.

    Ah about 3 weeks too late, although the mist king is such a simple system to set up that it wasn't a problem.
    Running an ultimate system into 3 tanks, with 6 nozzles in total with plenty of room to expand. Probably the best upgrade I've made to the setups I have, very happy.

      I like it the way Josh does his videos. Very candid. It might make the vid a little too long esp for those who just want to get to the nitty gritty of things but for us newbies, it helps seeing and knowing that not all of us are "experts," even the experts. :)

    • @1997LT1Camaro
      @1997LT1Camaro 2 роки тому +2

      @@chiefchick I like the guy and he means well, but these videos could be improved. They need to follow a teleprompter on an IPad that will help the pre arranged material flow better. A lot of the stuff he was describing you have to follow in your head vs he could have just pointed to a real picture or drawing. With plumbing it gets hard to follow verbally.
      The guy for the timer was getting lost, and they needed to zoom in more on the timer console.
      Like mentioned above it’s ok to reshoot a video or scene and cut out.
      Again I’m not trying to nitpick but these are areas that will take his videos to the next level.

    Hi Josh, I had already watched someone else's video on setting one of these up and it was stated that it was a gravity fed system and that the water feed has to be above the pump, but I see that your water is below the pump making it a suction pump instead of a gravity fed pump. Can you just clarify for me which way is correct??

    • @TheBioDudeJoshHalter
      @TheBioDudeJoshHalter  5 років тому +1

      You could be completely correct in that aspect. TBH I just have it setup like that because it works and the pumps have been working for years! I should ask MK about that so I can touch base on that in the video : ) Thank you

      @@TheBioDudeJoshHalter No worries bud.. Have you ever had an issue with the pump not sucking the water upwards or issues with any back flow once the pump stops??
      I really like the Mistking but I just can't have the water reservoir above the pump on my setup and obviously I don't want to waste my cash on something that's not going to work for me.
      Quite often people who have personal use of a particular system or item provide better answers than the manufacturers do...

    • @1997LT1Camaro

      @@budgetwebsiteservice I would ask mist king if the pump is self priming. This kinda gives you the answer. If the pump need water above it , it is not self priming. The worst that can happen is the the pump runs dry which mist king says is ok. I am installing one of these soon and will follow up.

    Was thinking about upgrading to a Mist King. This helped. Thanks.
    One super beginner question tho - when you're using these are you primarily raising the humidity of the tank or watering the plants. I realize that when you water the plants your raising the humidity. But the water from the one I'm using now doesn't reach all the plants (and I have to supplement), but it is keeping the humidity high. TIA

    • @TheBioDudeJoshHalter
      @TheBioDudeJoshHalter  6 років тому +2

      Hi Kevin. I still water the plants if need be once a week or so depending on how established the moisture layer are in the tank, as well as the roots systems of the plants. If you have plants all over the enclosure, it will be hard to get the misting system to adequately water them all and keep the humidity in an appropriate range. I hope this helps.
