    LINK TO STRING TRIMMER TIPS VIDEO: • How to STRING TRIM lik...
    Being the King of the backyard aint easy - been crowned twice - NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE.
    In this video I review the brand new 2021 56volt EGO battery cordless powered powerload string trimmer (model ST1511T or ST1510T). This model was just release and it's a true show stopper. Some of the features include telescoping handle, brushless motor, 15inch cutting, Powerload auto string loading, and a ton more.
    If you are looking to buy a new string trimmer, make sure this model is on your short list :)

    For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

    Love the content. I just picked up the carbon-fiber version last week. Love it! I did see this model but they look pretty similar and overall the lighter and stiffer shaft seemed better for me than the telescoping ability. There's a slightly different motor shroud but the specs look pretty similar (I guess this model does have the hi/lo switch - but both have the variable speed trigger).

    I've had an EGO string trimmer for 4 years and very rarely does the string load easily. Inserting in one hole does not guarantee that it will come out the other side as depicted in the video. Most often I wind up taking the head off and manually threading the line from one side to the other and then trying to get it put back together without the spring being mispositioned. And many times the string will not advance when there is sting left on the spool. Husband and I have argued multiple times over this and we have finally decided to purchase a new trimmer of another brand. BTW, we even found a video showing difficulties in loading the trimmer and possible causes and cures. Followed advice for solving the problem to no avail. Love my EGO mower and blower but the trimmer misses the mark.

    At the string end where the motor is located is the housing metal or plastic? Or is there a plastic cover over the metal housing that holds the motor? The other ego string trimmers the housing that holds the motor is all metal and not sure if they made this cheaper by making it all plastic and question how durable or strong it will be if it is all plastic.

    This weedeater is very nice and I would highly recommend for a homeowner they only cut their grass like once a month. I have gone through two of these weedeaters within one year due to the head mechanism not loading string on both of the weedeaters. On one of the trimmers that I finally managed to get the string loaded after holding the head and pushing the button the string would keep coming out when I was weedeating.
    I give this weed eater 3 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ overall.

      I appreciate the suggestion! I love how well an ego trimmer can trim the grass and edge with it but as I said I believe the quality is not there yet with ego. One thing I really don’t like is that it only brings a 1 year commercial warranty as in comparison with others like Milwaukee and Dewalt that offer 3 year warranty on some garden tools and even longer warranties on certain things.

    • @Kitearmy
      @Kitearmy  2 роки тому +1

      @@mylawnbarber I would say that nothing that Delwalt or Millwaukee make compares to EGO commercial. That being said their standard stuff is targeted to the homeowner
