“The other guy” is Mike Shinoda, musical genius in my eyes. Everyone knows Chester and tends to get pushed into the background. Don’t get me wrong, I love Chester, but we need to give Mike, Rob, Dave, Joe and Brad their props. LP was a band that was made up of 6 guys who became brothers. RIP Chester. Might want to give Mike’s album, Post Traumatic a listen. It is Mike’s journey through his grief after Chester was killed by depression. Raw and emotional. Great reaction.

The guys rapping is Mike Shinoda he sings raps plays instruments. He did an album after Chester's death called Post Traumatic. You should check out ao.e of those videos. The way he worked though his grief though music was amazing. There was a lot of darkness but I think this was a healthy way for him to cope. Fort Minor also has him focusing on his rap check them out.

It's almost heartbreaking to see someone newly falling into the beauty of Chester's vocals after his passing. His music will immortalize him.

Knowing that Chester was abused growing up makes his words that much more powerful. Such an amazing talent. RIP.

The rappers name is Mike Shinoda btw. he is the main creative force behind the band, plays several instruments, raps, sings and does a huge part of their music production. he also did a hip-hop side project called Fort Minor. maybe you already heard parts of their song "Remember The Name" already.

The rapping guy, Mike Shinoda, imo is so overlooked, like... he was the main songwriter, he rapped, played piano and guitar, he even sang on some of LP's songs. I love his skills, please check out Castle of glass, where Mike starts the song and later Chester sings with him almost the whole thing, No roads left, where Mike sings the whole song, Roads untravelled, Burning in the skies, Invisible. I'd love you to react to all their albums, it's really worth it. The style changes on every album, every one sounds different from others. Lyrically their songs are the best I've ever known.
Mike played tributes to Chester with In the end, where the audience was singing Chester's parts as loud as they could, so 'he could hear them', and I wanted to link you my favorite, but I can't find a video where is Mike's beautiful speech and In the end in one.. It makes me really emotional.
Now I want to recommend some songs, that are amazing because of lyrics, music, vocals or everything at once :) :
*crawling, mv is beautiful, song is very relatable for many of us, and Chester's voice is just perfect. Live version from One more light tour breaks my heart, but is beautiful too.
*papercut, the first song from the first album, it's a really amazing start
*breaking the habit, it was very hard for Chester to record this one, he felt too much related to the lyrics that weren't even written about him, it took him a really long time to record.
*Qwerty live from Summer Sonic Tokyo 2006, amazing vocals, he could switch between screaming and singing so quickly
*Easier to run, beautiful and true
    *Bleed it out
*The messenger, beautiful lyrics and amazing voice
    *In my remains
    *Iridescent
    *The catalyst
    *Powerless, it touches
*New divide, a song from Transformers
    *Lost in the echo
    *Rebellion
    *By myself
    *Forgotten
    *In between
    *A place for my head
*Points of authority, good to know what it's about
    *Figure.09
    *Heavy
    *Leave out all the rest
    *Nobody's listening
    *Nobody can save me
oh, you know what? listening to all their albums in order is the best you can do, just discover everything. But remember about bonus tracks, like Blackbirds or No roads left mentioned before. You won't regret it, I can promise. I hope you'll do it, with or without camera, enjoy :)

For the next ones : Breaking the Habit (the video clip and in live too, this song is amazing), or Hands Held High (this one is so underrated but it's my favorite) 🥰

Suffi, I don't know how old you are, but this is the soundtrack of my angsty teenage years, Loved Linking Park, still listen to them regularly. This song was epic, and it aged so well.
(also the name of the philosophy you were looking for is nihilism)

Please check out Mike Shinoda "Crossing A Line". This song is from his solo album a year after Chester passed. The entire album is his struggle dealing with Chester's death, and how he did his best to move forward. Excellent song. Excellent album. xo

    TW: abuse
There are so many of their songs that are so powerful. As much as I’d want Chester not to be remember just for his depression, you should know about his problems with drugs and the abuse he went through as a child to better understand some songs, like Easier to Run, From The Inside and many others

I always felt it was about a parent/child relationship. Obviously, that is through my own filter of parents who pushed for excellence and some power struggles within that dynamic as I figured out what my own boundaries and identity are.
Others have their equally valid takes on it.
I really love your thoughtful reactions. On a suffi binge.

Seconding Breaking the Habit (music video) and Faint .I'd also like to add my personal recommendation for Roads Untraveled.
By the way, the rapper is named Mike Shinoda. He has a side project called Fort Minor, I'd love to see you react to a few songs from them as well! There may even be a couple you recognize, such as "Remember the name" and "Where'd You Go." You Should also check out their song "Kenji"!
Also I'd love to point out one more invaluable member of the band, Mr. Hahn. He's the dj guy who's always spinning records. Honestly, aside from Mike and Chester, he's what sets the band apart by giving them their iconic electronic sounds throughout their music.

Please react to Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit. Mike Shinoda (the rapper) wrote the song about a friend (possibly Chester) who was struggling with a drug addiction. Chester struggled performing it live because it made him too emotional. The music video is also wicked cool.

    1. Man, sorry to burst your bubble, but he didn't say 'watch YOU fly right out the window'... he said 'watch the time fly as the pendulum swings' and later 'watched the time go right out the window'.
    2. The rapper's name is Mike Shinoda, and he's CRAZILY talented!
    3. The philosophy according to which nothing really matters is called nihilism.

Also, Mike Shinoda did a performance of In the end after Chester’s passing, he let the crowd sing Chester’s lines. I cry every time honestly

A reaction request I would like to put forward is Aesthetic Perfection's Gods and Gold. It's an awesome track and deserves more attention. Also, it's got Richard Z Kruspe on guitars. :) However, if you fancy something more poppier, I would say Dead Zone or American Psycho
