Chester Bennington is one of the few artists that can make their scream sound harmonically awesome like Chad Gray ( MuDvAyNe/Hellyeah ). On Given Up he screamed for 17 seconds straight!!! 🔥
Given up that scream is almost a minute long
Jared Leto was actually an amazing screamer, but he stopped doing it for acting. "From Yesterday" and "Oblivion" are good examples of his scream.
There was a voice coach that said that the prep for that scream and the scream, the way Chester hit it and held that note, it can only be done by someone who is very talented and with extremely good voice control. That was Chester, he could hit those notes and still sing a ballad the next song, a talent gone too soon,
The combination of rock and rap that Mike and Chester found will be unmatched until the end of time. And the music video of this song will be one of my favorites forever
Chester was mad talented, his vocal range was crazy. Loved his rock star vibes. We miss you Chester ❤️

THIS, is what I've been waiting for! I suggested you listen to this, because it's OFF THE WALL!!! THIS, is the song that made me a LP fan! And, I'm not one much for rap, but this was so damned catchy, I felt a surge of energy, I was bouncing around, scream singing, thrashing up against walls, looking like a total dumbass, having angsty fun...then, the song ended. I was all, "Huh? Why did it end so fast?! Like a damned rollercoaster!" 😁😆😃

I love to see people check out Linkin Park. Epic. My fav band. Got me through alot. Like millions of others. Chester really had a purpose in life.
It’s very rare to have rap and electrical guitar because you can’t use a machine to create electric background music like beats. Rappers pay for beats , they don’t wanna hire a crew or band to pay for all.

When you were talking about shoes 😂😂 It was so true! Linkin Park shows were lit af and you best be wearing your "concert shoes"! It was almost impossible not to get sucked into the mosh pits that would open up everywhere. They sounded just as good live as they did on their studio albums. Hands down, the best band I've ever seen live.
I definitely suggest checking out Stone Temple Pilots, both from when Chester was their front man and when it was Scott Weiland. STP with Weiland is probably #2 on my list for best live shows.

It was inspired by the tragic events following hurricane Katrina and other Easter similar to it. Head up it is very emotional song. It can be found on the minutes to midnight album, which is having their 15yrs anniversary.

So we know what Chester can do (RIP!) but the other singer who does the rap verses is Mike Shinoda. He has a respectable career himself. Check out his earlier solo work as Fort Minor. Old school rap… slower, will probably make you cry! He has newer stuff in his own name with some cool collabs, but if you appreciate rap, you must react to Fort Minor!

When i was a kid, i heard all the ac/dc type rock...but i also loved Run DMC and the rappers in that era. I was so happy when Aerosmith did a song collab with Run DMC...fast forward we have rap/rock hybrids like lincoln park, P.O.D.. i love it. Curious what youd think of Korn..maybe Freak On A Leash?
