I swear to you, Chester and Mike were two halves of a whole, and it was MOST obvious on a song like this. This song sneaks up on you. Twenty years and this is my favorite song of theirs.
It’s crazy that it feels like a song with tens (if not hundreds?) of millions of views, which arguably displays Chester’s & Mike’s vocal relationship the best out of any Linkin Park song ever, which arguably has their best ever lyrics, *still* feels like it’s an underrated song of their’s?? Masterpiece. Pure and simple. 🤌🏻
I think you nailed it. The subject of the song is loss. No matter what it is you lose, you don't want to believe it. You deny it. You hold on to it and the feelings that are associated with it. You don't want to let go. You try and try, but the memories just won't leave. You get angry, you get frustrated. "What was left when that fire was gone?" Nothing is worth anything unless you have this one thing you're so attached to, but at the end of the day, if you don't let go, you're gonna be stuck like this until the day you die. And there's no fixing that once you're gone. Waiting For The End becomes so much deeper with every listen. I always find new meanings and metaphors. Hands down probably their best song they've ever made.
@@MUSiC-world-20986 the backing vocals are Joe, Rob (on the album only), Brad, and Phoenix. Mike and Chester also do backing vocals for each other aswell.
What Mike does is just Mike doing his own thing its amazing. Mike is also doing a lot of the background he has an amazing voice as well as Chester on different levels of talent
My favorite LP song from my favorite LP album. A Thousand Suns is so diverse and so different from all other LP albums.Video is a masterpiece. Kudos to Mr Hahn. RIP Chester😔. Great reaction.
I was in an unhappy marriage that was literally making me mentally ill. This song for me was about letting go of that life and moving forward ‘I know what it takes to move on, I know how it feels to lie, all I wanna do is trade this life for something new, holding on to what I haven’t got, (yet). Leaving was fearful and painful but so was staying. ‘The hardest part of ending is starting again.’ I left, I am mentally healthy again and found love. This song has always meant so much to me.
Can I just say, your reactions are maybe the best I've seen. You are not only enjoying the instrumentals, but you actually analyze the lyrics! You try to understand the meaning and its refreshing to see.. This is what reactions should be like. Please keep up the great work, I'll definately keep watching and supporting.
100% front to back, you gotta listen to this album in full. A Thousand Suns is one of their best albums, full of great nuggets that listeners can keep finding.
Always appreciate your lyric breakdowns. You always catch on to lyrics and offer your own insights into those lyrics. You're very insightful. Your reactions are so good.
Thank you for understanding my pov of the song. It wasn’t a breakup or any relationships, it was just a thing I’ve lost to be able to do something I loved.
I've loved this song for so long, no idea why it doesn't have as much attention as their more popular tracks. By the way, you might be interested in checking out the rapper Mike Shinoda's solo projects a bit later (including both Fort Minor and his more recent stuff).
Please react to Chester and Mikes cover of Rolling in the deep by Adele (live)! Chesters vocal range was insane, he was talented beyond words. Truly, truly missed.
May I recommend Roads Untraveled? And you should check out Mike Shinoda's album Post-Traumatic, which he wrote in the immediate aftermath of Chester's death. It really highlights Mike's song writing and producing talent. ETA if you do decide to give Post Traumatic a try I recommend you listen to the tracks in order. They go in order of the time they were written and are an amazing representation of the stages of grief. Deep stuff and amazingly well written and produced.
I Absolutely love this song.. geez it's been forever since I've heard this.. Pure poetry ur right, I love artist who truly are lyrical poet's.. just like Tyler Joseph for an example... Thanks Danny 😁
one of my favorite songs from them. But just like TOP, to me they are all good and I just can't pick a favorite. Their musicality and evolution over the course of their career was amazballz. Still one of my favorites and go to album is Hunting Party. Until it's Gone and Mark the Graves from that album speak to me.
This song in audio sounds just as awesome live on red square. Check it out if you haven't yet. Please react to some of their live performances such as pushing me away live in texas, high voltage live in rock am ring, the little things give you away. live on milton keynes or qwerty on summer sonic Tokyo. Would love to know your thoughts on these.
Just help me put my lover back together lol. I know the devil wont take the wrong soul cuz they tried to sell mine many times. Robert and Ashleys deceased mothers will be helping their karma be collected
He tried to slowme down today so I had a parking lot concert. The twilight series energy vampires fuck team edward team Jacob for eternity. Im not getting on a damn bike with a fake Jacob I already jumped out of a moving vehicle with robert before kids. I knew when young being with Robert
Linkin park is Tony and I, so is Eminem and Dre, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, Adam and Eve reincarnated to Antony and Cleopatra reincarnated to Bonnie and Clyde reincarnated to Anthony and Heather. I really just want my family and basic human rights back. The song Cassandra is proof of the government scam mother became. Buffy the vampire slayer explains when my mother passed when I was a child. They didn't allowe to heal to even be my truest self. Its all just bullshit and Is like to get off the ride

Waiting for the End and Papercut are my favorite Linkin Park songs because of their harmony singing together.

The words to this hit differently since his passing , hit like a punch in the gut. So sad such a loss.
The live version of this song- Waiting for the End- Live in Red Square, is amazing. You should check it out!
RIP Chester.
THIS
There is quite a few versions of this live, that are all awesome, Barcelona for example
@@thamp3dude The Honda Civic Tour, 2012 version - with the extended outro - is off the charts amazing.
in são paulo 2012 is amazing too
Chester's voice is so beautiful. R.I.P. Chester
Mike Shinoda does the backing vocals on the chorus.
Yeah, with Phoenix (I think)
In meanwhile, Chester does the backing vocals on the rap parts
@@MUSiC-world-20986 live, it was Mike, Joe and Phoenix

Their music saved millions
This is why this is not only one of my favorite Linkin Park songs, but one of my favorite songs in general.
I was in an unhappy marriage that was literally making me mentally ill. This song for me was about letting go of that life and moving forward ‘I know what it takes to move on, I know how it feels to lie, all I wanna do is trade this life for something new, holding on to what I haven’t got, (yet).

This song has always meant so much to me.
That buildup is indeed amazing. How it comes together
This is 10000% my favorite Linkin Park song - this and Battle Symphony.

Thank you very much Tashana, I really appreciate that :)
Well said.
Love this album so much!!! One of the best albums I've ever listened to, I think it's so underappreciated.

Absolutely. I listen to "Robot Boy" more than I probably should in one sitting lol.

Thank you so much :)
I have been a Linkin Park fan for 20 years and I can relate to this song on so many levels
1 thing I love about your videos is you are not overreacted to something.
And also explain for something with your experience .
Keep Going bro.
Waiting for the end means not wanting to live anymore or regretting for something you lose
Thank you for understanding my pov of the song. It wasn’t a breakup or any relationships, it was just a thing I’ve lost to be able to do something I loved.
THIS SONG IS JUST PERFECT.
P E R F E C T 👑👐👏🙏💔💝🔥
Linkin Park shadow of the day
This is straight masterpiece. One of the best LP songs, for sure
Every LP song is a random Swiss Army knife of emotions. Mind blowing
I've loved this song for so long, no idea why it doesn't have as much attention as their more popular tracks. By the way, you might be interested in checking out the rapper Mike Shinoda's solo projects a bit later (including both Fort Minor and his more recent stuff).
Good reaction ! I like and appreciate a lot that you pointed (some) lyrics and their MEANINGS of the song ! Keep it up :d
The live version for this song is also great. If you don’t want to react to it please still go watch it.
It is a good vibe.
Even if you don't pay attention to the lyrics, it's a song that moves.

That was a good review Edward Norton
Zayn remembers me Chester, I hope he would be happy...
You Should Do Linkin Park Figure O9
The hook really isn’t even that catchy, but Chester’s voice and cadence makes it one of the best melodic parts in the whole discography
Breaking the habit music video! Please! It's one of their staple songs like Numb and In The End.
A tousand tanks, hug your family for me❤
I got so sad from this, because didn't get the YAY. Is there a YAY. please there is a yay, I listen to you now. Hugs Suffi, from Sweden.
