I used to think I needed a F1.4 lens but you showed me just how creamy the bokeh is here and that matters much more than an extra 2/3 of a stop. Thanks.
Great composition, awesome colour. I find when I’m out and about trying to film my day, the footage/edit always feels rushed, I really enjoyed how patient the shots are. I’m so tempted to get this 24mm. There is something about wide angle at such shallow DoF that I think is striking when used at the correct moments.
I love my S1H! I’ve always said I’ll put it against any camera that came out in 2020 easy. Those 1.8 primes are starting to be tempting as I exclusively shoot on adapted lenses
I switch to photos so often that I mostly use my 24-70 now. but I love having primes in the kit for interviews etc and touch AF has become a big part of my workflow. nothing wrong with adapted lenses though!
My S5ii is arriving tomorrow. I'm looking for a good deal on the 24mm f1.8. I'm pretty excited about moving back to LUMIX. This video really makes this lens look really good. Great job. P.S. I love challenges. I watched until the end. LOL.
Footage is looking gorgeous as always but I really wanted to share how I miss living in Toronto again just to have this sort of chillness. Being in a big city like São Paulo right now kinda makes me tired of so much noise.
Great video! I used to live in Canada and I'm a Panasonic user as well. So this was a very pleasing video to watch. I also don't understand why the s1h and s5 aren't as popular, but I believe it's really just marketing. Panasonic is a lot stronger in Asian markets.
Ugh this looks so good!! Fantastic composition and framing. I'm curious if you used a LUT bc the color is insane. So rich but natural. Def sold me on the lens lol
Thanks for the videos man, not only are you a great videographer but you're one of the few youtube bloggers that is honest when reviewing products like lens and cameras. Thanks again.
I have multiple camera bodies from Pentax Panasonic Olympus, Fujifilm and Nikon. On the Panasonic side I have a S5, S5 MKII and two micro 4/3 camera bodies. For me the S5 and S5 MKII are a perfect size and have great functionality, the camera body reminds me of my Pentax cameras because you can pick up the camera look it over and start using it, you don't need to go menu hunting for photography and the lens selection between Sigma and Lumix give you a good selection of glass. I have a few primes and zoom lenses and B&H photo is shipping me a 7o-300 f 4.5- 5.6 getting it tomorrow, if you like using prime lenses Sigma I series or the Lumix 1.8 prime lenses works well, the thing about the S5 is that it is not a large camera but any size lens is not a problem for this camera 😊.
The only thing stopping me from buying more than 1 fixed lens and not an expensive zoom lens is the unshielded sensor! I will definitely buy this 24mm for lowlight and to photograph landscapes. but as a second lens definitely a good zoom lens that I won't remove very often. I have no idea how to keep the inside of the body dust free! I used to even have a miniscule bug in my camera body, even though I didn't change lenses very often.
its not quite what I want - im not a fan of no screen and id rather have IBIS. so I think the normal S1H is the better buy still. I used and reviewed the BGH1 and it was cool but I found it annoying and cumbersome as well.
L Mount triumvirate for me comprising; S1R, S1H and S5 with a mix of native Panny lenses, but also the Sigma 35 and 65 f2’s, plus the 28-70mm ‘compact’ zoom. The S1R and H are a little bigger and heavier than I’d ideally like, but not so massive as they are made out to be. The video AF is the only real weak link, but that trade off is worth it for me.
@@impatrickt seen the early reviews, but not something I’d consider. Zero need. Or want. I shall look forward to your review however! I’m hoping they expand the S5 line as they did the S1, so S5R and S5H. Wishful thinking probably…
Wooow i have the s5 and want take this 24mm he look great . Good good jobs the camera its nothing with the creativity of the filmmaker. What is you nd filder?
Do you know if comparable sigma lenses, such as the 24mm 1.4 art, are any slower when it comes to autofocus ? I'm leaning towards the Native 24mm s lens due to weather sealing but cant find any information on its edge sharpness or coma performance when used for astro stuff. Thanks for your input and great videos !
Would love to see your review of the 85mm as well. Its on my wishlist but I’m just confused as to go with panasonic 85 1.8 or get a sigma adapter and samyang 85 1.4 manual. I use a Panasonic s5
I had that lens on loan a while back but didnt want to review it. it's a great lens and if you like 85mm I would put it at the same caliber as the 24mm. sharp, small, and light.
I'm squinting this entire video because I had 300W of light blasting at my face.
So not a Robert De Niro impersonation?

What an excellent idea to f*ck youtube standards and start with just 4 minutes of images instead of fast switching to the review :) love it!

This video looked so nice. Made me want buy the lens. Already have a S5 and I'm waiting for the Panasonic 18mm.
Great work :) Would the 24-70mm @ 24mm be as nice as the prime?
