      I find it interesting that you thank the military for saving you life and getting you out of a drug and gun filled city. I'd be more angry at the politicians and police for not being able to improve that city to be safer. You're talking about almost dying as a soldier for the chance of not dying in an unsafe city. What the hell are people in charge doing if those are the options you have?

    100% knew that feeling. I thought everyone went to the food bank every so often. I mean, just look at all the families I saw when I went there. Wasn't until much later that I realized.

      Same, I was just thinking about this last night, when Mum told my brothers and I we couldn't have certain things we never figured out that it was because we had no money. I did sometimes wonder why all my friends at school got to travel to other countries and we never did though.

      like ive travelled out of state. and my dad has a lot of money but he chooses to save it for his retirement days + emergencies mostly.

    HerrCampzAlot, I’m very glad you are still with us. Keep being you and keep making the world a better place in any little way you can. You were a Marine, so I consider you more of a veteran than myself as former Air Force. But, from another early 40s vet to another - I appreciate you and everything you have done. I know many people who did similar contracting jobs in Iraq and didn’t return.

    Interesting to hear what my life could have been like if i joined in HS. I was asked to join a few times and I wanted to do welding/fabrication so I asked them about that. They said yeah we have welders but I knew better and didn't trust them to not send me off to do some other job and switch up the contract. Later that exact situation happened to a couple friends of mine that joined the marines.

    When he talks about seeing the language, I felt the same way about being stationed in korea. It’s like never being advertised to cause you can’t read the words. I’m glad another battle brother felt the same sentiment.
    Thank you Syrmor for talking to so many Veterans. A lot of us don’t feel we have anyone to talk to about our experiences or can’t afford therapy after we get out. You probably let this guy get so much weight off

    Dude. I live in a town about half an hour south of Fayetteville and I can definitely say that's true. This whole area is a black hole. If you stay after a certain age, you never leave. If you come in and don't leave immediately, you never will. But the Airborne Museum tho 😂

    33:31 that sand is called moon sand. it forms from a high amount of clay dust powdering the fine particulates. in the usa you can only find it in 1 or 2 areas of Utah and Arizona with it. but those are still not as fine. because theyve been blowing around for so much less time. time on a cosmic scale at least.

    When I was a kid I would play CoD World at War and surf wikipedia for all the guns and stuff in the game.     Hahahaha! My flight to Iraq was stupid! We had a lay over in Newfoundland. This plane is twisting 180 to 180. The wing is so close to hitting the ground.
    I was so pissed, I'm about to die! In Canada!!! On my way to Iraq!!!! The irony had me so pissed. I may have said out loud "are you serious?"
    N then we landed like it easy breezy hahaha.

      Because I wanted something different, and I thought it fit my personality basically. 😂 This is my first time seeing it from outside. It's really freaking cool. I didn't know my tongue, hair, ears move. 😂 Super dope!

      Military's got tons of furries from what I understand. People especially in strenuous professions or circumstances find a lot of escape in furry stuff and in having alter egos in general. Seriously, it can be strangely therapeutic.

      @@jack.20f74 Considering that they have their hands on 3/4ths of the internet's essential infrastructure, I think we'd all have bigger problems if there really were any. Furries are just a demonstration that many of society's most capable people are equally bizarre in-and-of themselves, and I think that's a very humbling thing to remember.

    I can't believe people have the audacity to mock these brave people. When I see my generation slander and trash on veterans it awakes a special type of anger inside me.
