TN can make the CFP as long as Nico is as advertised and they are putting up around 40 plus a game and that defense is for real. They can be 60'th in the secondary as long as that offense is back to playing very fast and dynamic as it's expected to be. The UF game at home and OU road game is key. If they beat those two teams, than the floor imo starts out at 10-2 with UGA and Bama games to go. I'd give them 65% odds now to make the playoffs. If AU has consistent, dependable and smart QB play, AU could make a run. UF will win 5 games and I think LSU will go 9-3.

Agreed. And pointing to one team that has done well in the portal does not make it a true recruiting strategy. They are in win now mode currently, who says that continues after this season.

UCF can beat Florida. Gus Malzahn is a great coach, offense is loaded with talent. If UCF improves defensively will be close game.
Gus is fixing to do something special down in Florida this year with KJ I see another year like the one cam had

SEC Mike and Cousin Shane are cool as hell. I respect Mike's take on Texas not deserving so much praise before playing a single game in the SEC. Personally, I'm starting to believe Sark really is the right coach, and the future is very bright.

LSUs schedule sets up nicely to make a playoff run. Three toughest games are all in Death Valley. Tigers get at least one maybe two wins. As for the other 9 opponents. CBK in his 3rd year has his team in a better place than the other 9 coaches have their respective teams.
All the defense has to do is instead of having an opponent kick a PAT make him kick a FG just ONCE a game. That improvement will get defense upper 40s - low 50s in scoring defense. That a good enough jump for a couple more wins.
Last time LSU lost 1st rounders at QB and 2 WRs in same draft the tigers won it all the next season. Highlighted by an offense that increased its numbers in PPG avg.

I love my vols, but Bama, UGA, Texas, Mizzou, and Ole Miss are more likely to make the playoff. That’s already 6 teams from the SEC, there’s really no room for anyone else

Man that’s a tuff scheadule for Florida, they will be lucky to win 6 . I think the over should be 5.5 not 4.5. They will be A&M or Miami .

5 SEC teams making it is really stretching it. This isn't baseball where the best teams win their way in from a 64 team playoff and we end up with an SEC heavy late bracket. The small cupcake eating 10 will buy spots. ND buys a spot. until the committee values SEC SoS the SEC will be shafted. I think 3-4 teams get in even tho 5-6 will be deserving

@@greenwave819 well if you take the other 3 p4 conferences and the g5 team you get 8 spots left total. Only one acc and only one big 12 teams make it so after they sec champ gets in there are 7 more spots for big 10 and the sec. Ohio state oregon and penn state are the only teams from the big 10 making it so 6 sec teams can make it
@@danielhill2658 The ACC runner up has a good shot. FSU has cried so much the committee may pick an ACC team to avoid people thinking they have conference bias. ND will get in every year. 3 out of the 4 big10 schools will get in add Cheatagin to the other three you named. Money talks, especially when it comes to the CFP.

No way Texas goes 9-3
UF is going to lose to Miami, A&M, TN, toss up UCF, loss to UK, Texas, LSU, OLe Miss and FSU. And yes, it matters where the UF game is. UF isn't beating TN in Neyland and neither is Alabama. You can say UF has owned TN but there is a huge difference in talent wise in UF and TN and it matters where the game is played. The only sure win on this schedule for UF is Samford.

Especially defensively and who knows what you have on offense but it doesn't look elite, nor dynamic as it didn't last year. Unless you do something drastically different this year. Florida always has a good game against Tennessee. I’m done giving us the edge in that game with respect to talent. We should have beat them 5-6 times the last 15 years… I get your points though - this game defies all logic thiugh
@@FreshNFunky24 Well, always does not apply. Let's talk about over the last 3 years when Heupel was the coach and how UF has faired. Because thats what we are talking about here. UF is 2-1 against Heupel. 0-1 against Heupel in Neyland. Is UF a better overall team this year than in 22? Not according to what they were in 23. Meaning high odds UF will lose in Neyland. UF isn't a deeper or more talented team. Forget the last 15 years. We deserved to get beat and honestly, over those last 15 years, how many years did we actually have a better offense? Maybe twice? 15 and 16 yes, we had the better offense but Heupel is a different era of football and more so than any HC we've had. This is teh only heavily offensive mind that TN has ever hired for their football team. So far, it's a good record from a team that only a year or two ago had only 65 scholarship players on it. TN's best football is yet to come and it started with this HC, Heupel.
@@FreshNFunky24 I can admit through the 90's Spurrrier was the better offensive mind over Phillip Fulmer. and that is why they had our number a lot over the years. But this is probably the best offense this year with lines considered, WR and RB's in probably 25 years. So, I like our chances to make a run if we think this team does what it's expected to do. No reason for us to lose to Bama either in Neyland. none.

Good luck SECMike. That ain't stuff happening. Texas takes care of more than their business. You smoking too much of that SEC juju. Georgia is legit and you think that is the measuring stick. SEC has a whole bunch of mediocre teams just like the Big 12, but the Big 12 had better offenses and crazy non conventional defenses. Tough to scheme each week. SEC has more traditional defenses and non creative offenses. Easier schemes to play but they have better talent. We will see how the season unfolds but Texas and OU aren't your typical middle of the road SEC slugs. Those two teams will be elevating the level of the SEC.

SEC mike does not have a clue what he is talking about when it comes to Auburn. He is clearly blinded by his obvious bad feelings about Hugh Freeze. His points are not even solid, claims Auburn should be building through the portal while they just brought in 15 transfers. There was no reason to panick and go get a QB, 2024 is not the year that we will be making a leap, 2025 will be. You ride with Thorne and hope he is better with better coaches and players around him while at the same time you are prepping your current QBs all season for a battle going into 2025. Then the guy goes on to say that he thinks Florida can win 8 games.... SEC mike is on drugs, don't bring him back please.
I think UGA has to have a 1k yard WR. I don't think they can keep with the basic offense and beat the better teams. It didn't work last season and it won't work with less on defense this season. It must be more dynamic and be a more WR heavy offense. Ladd McKoney wasn't even in the top 50 in the SEC in receiving and the best UGA coudl do was a WR at #23, 23 in the SEC? And that is scary when you see how much less than last year's schedule will be in difficulty compared to the 24 season. Your not going to win an SEC championship on the shoulder of Carson Beck but you have a better chance if you get more dynamic and have more WR's involved compared to TE's.

Show me a game where Carson Beck could roll out and put up points. lol The guy can throw yards but most QB's can. Where is your Jayden Daniels and your WR's? You didn't have a top 20 SEC receiver last year and haven't in a minutes. Bowers was good in 22 but he's a TE and your not beating the better teams without getting your WR's involved more and that was proven last year time and time again and against Bama. This team looks like it did back in 15 or 16 now. The 17, 21 and 22 UGA teams would wipe the floor with the 23 team and so far what we expect to see this season until something more dynamic changes with UGA's offense. And that run defense is living on borrowed time.
