Where do u get your research from? U have tackled so many jobs, especially that Prime. Being an old battery tech/salesman, I would have taken emory cloth & at least cleaned negative post (but I would have done BOTH). 🤓 Just my opinion. 👍 U have such nice vehicles in your family!
@@riceburner4747 yes check all the cables first for sure. Then the alternator voltage and connections and battery age. Any battery over 3 years can be an issue. Lots of trouble shooting work lol.
I'm curious to know, has the warning comeback on since the replacement? Any Airbag warning ⚠️ or the radio just stops working , chk electric steering? I've had those issues just before my battery started to show that warning ⚠️😞
Yes, it has come back but less frequent. I think it’s actually the alternator regulator. I’ve tested the voltage and it has fluctuated on the high side up to 15 V for a brief few seconds then drops back down to 13.9 v which triggers the warning lights. No other lights come on. the battery is new. The car still runs fine. The lights come on for brief second and then go back off. I’ll probably in the future replace the alternator.
Hi I have a 2014 Honda civic hybrid the check charging system came on yesterday and now it’s not starting , my problem may be different ? Any opinions would help before I go to a mechanic as a girl I don’t want to be over charged
Generally, it could be a battery. That’s where I would start first is swapping out the battery. After that, you could have AutoZone or O’Reillys or Napa test your alternator and see if it’s working. A bad battery is usually common, especially if the batteries three years old or more.
You might have a bad battery if it’s more than three years old I would probably replace it. Make sure the connections are tight on the battery cables, and everything else. Also places like AutoZone Baxter auto parts. They will test your battery and alternator for free as well.
Procedure: 1- check battery for corrosion, and make sure connections are tight. 2- Test battery voltage and amperage. If battery voltage is less than 12.6V see if you can recharge it. Also, check battery amperage because usually batteries for these Honda's are 400 or 450 amps. If the test result is less than the registered amperage that appears on the battery label, replace the battery. A battery can give you good voltage but lower amps than stated on the battery, so get rid of it. 3- it you said that you bought a new battery sensor because "battery light was on", and still didn't work and car didn't start, chances are you caused a spark and blew some fuse accidently during installation..did the warning message was telling you "check charging system", or "check battery sensor"? 4- Begin checking for blown fuses under hood or in the car. I believe this Honda has fuse boxes under dashboard as well.
Yes, you are absolutely right. Check the battery first check the voltage on it AutoZone or somewhere similar will test for free. For my situation the check charging system might still comes back on. I think it’s because when I took a voltage meter and checked my alternator, it ran up as high as 15 V for a brief second and then dropped back down to 13.9. That Fluctuation created the charging system light come on so I might be due for an alternator
My battery voltage sensor broke off. Can it be soldered back on or glued possibly?
For a short term fix, Yeah it’s worth a try! Otherwise find the replacement part.
