Beautiful. Thank you for being so generous with us throughout your life. Rest in peace Melanie and lots of love to your family
I would say I am a beginner and have never done the star stitch but decided to just jump in and give it a go. I am now half way through and this tutorial is very easy to follow with very clear instructions. I can’t wait to finish and make more. Thank you 🌟
Thank you for sharing this pattern! My mom is going to love the one I made for her!
This video is really helpful. It’s quick and easy and works up quickly. I’m making it for my aunt and I’m sure she’ll love it! It took less than a day and the star stitch looks really cool. I was able to do this and I just started crochet like a month ago and I am a beginner. Thanks for making this video
I love all your tutorials- so easy to follow! These bags are adorable. You always have the prettiest yarn and fabric!
I cannot imagine those that are disliking this channel and videos....you must be haters is all I can think! I love that this is where I originally relearned to crochet after picking up my hook after 41 years!
Sending feelings of hope to the Ham family. I'm at 21:14 into this video and Melanie is holding up a rainbow bag. Outside my widow appears the most gorgeous rainbow after a storm! This is also right after I watched Robert's gorgeous film about Melanie and their family. It might be a coincidence, or...
That is precious! Can't wait to make them for my grand daughters! Love your videos!!
thank you for this really clear and easy tutorial! I’ve been trying to find easy tutorials for this kind of bag, gonna have to try this once I find a cute yarn
This tutorial and pattern were just amazing. Thank you. I modified it slightly by doing a solid color for the base and a separate color for the top part of the bag. I also put a star on the side of it and made it a bit shorter. Truly just a wonderful bag and a perfect christmas gift. Thank you again.
I love this! I'm still fairly new to crocheting and picked up on this pattern very quickly bc you do such an amazing job at explaining!

Hello....I have learned to crochet from you and am loving it! Can you give me recommendations on the brand of yarn that you used for the t-shirt type and also the one demonstrated? I'm still figuring out different weights of yarn and unfortunately spend too much money on the wrong yarn!
Forever ❤ Melanie
Cute
Happy new year my love amazing teacher 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😘😘😘
Love this pattern :) just one question to be sure....at some point in 04:21 you say “double crochet”. I believe it is half double as on previous rounds, right? I am a beginner and don’t wanna mess this up 😃 thanks
I discovered your channel today! Simply amazing! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! A big hug from 🇮🇹😊
How would I do the draw strings if I wanted to make it more like a backpack?
Thank you for all your cute ideas!
The best visible star design so far....

She was a lovely person she passed fr cancer and I was shocked
so cute and simple. you are amazing. please post more crotchet videos
She’s dead
@@amandagilbert9479 I know that know but I did not know it before. At least she is in a better place now.
I've recently discovered your channel. Love it. I have a question though... when changing colors I'm sooo worried that the ends will just unravel sooo I'm always tying a knit because logic tells me that if washed, it will unravel. I admit my logic can be skewed sooo will you explain HOW they don't just unravel?
RIP dear Melanie, you will be sadly missed, you were the best. ❤️🇬🇧
Can this pattern be user for a bottle holder? When I work in the round the anoying aspect that happens is that the project tends to be a little taller where I chain 2 at the beginning of the new round(using double crochees ) . What am I doing wrong? :)
COOL BEANZZZ!
Hello. I love your crafts.. And I lesrned alot from your videos.. What type of yarn did you use in this bag?
I wish someone would answer this…I need to know, too
No matter how many times I rework this, the place where my rounds joins has a a noticeable peak. What am I doing wrong?
Love this project! I'm already on my second bag but I keep running onto a problem. I find that in the first row of stars I make 30 and then in the second i have 31. I'm not sure where I'm fitting in one extra star.
so she is putting a hdc into the slip stitch from the previous round. slip stitches do NOT count as stitches so placing a hdc there will create an extra stitch every round. if you go back in her tutorial she says to make sure that you SKIP the first hdc that was placed in the slip stitch. this is most likely why you have 31 starts rather than 30, but it could be something else. i hope this makes sense!
If I use a much thicker yarn, would the bag turn out bigger?
That rainbow bag looks beautiful, just like you, Melanie. You are full of happiness and inspiration.
Byron Chandler geesh, she’s a happily married woman. Smh
Could you make this into like a shoulder bag where the draw string is super long to go as a strap???
Is the chain one also counted as stitch?
What if I'd like to make this larger, how much stitches do I start with in the magic circle? Does it need to be in multiples of a specific #?
You could use a bulkier yarn or a few strands held together at once and a larger hook
This is marvelous 🥰
But I have a problem, the place where I join my last star in a row with a slip stitch... It's very ugly and obvious... Also.. the beginning of slip stitch in row one of stars, seems to be moving 🦴.... 🤭
