Thank you for this easy tutorial. I made the base circle a little larger with hopes of keeping my Caron Big cakes in check. Even though I totally messed up the counts and stitches :), the pattern is so forgiving it's totally not noticeable. The drawstring cinches up wonderfully to corral those cakes that completely fall apart a third of the way in.

Something I accidentally did but actually like the look of a lot is doing the bottom with looser stitches and then doing the final ring with tighter stitches on a slightly smaller needle. It makes the edges curl up naturally and gives the bag a rounded look :D (Then skip the 'corner' row and move straight onto the sides.)

    • @faridabohra7355

    • @bumblewyn

@@faridabohra7355 I don't know the technical term, but the row where you transition from doing the bottom to doing the side, by only go through half the stitch (one loop instead of two) that makes it have an angle. Does that make sense?

I always seem to end up with a raised "ridge" where I slip stitch at the end. What am I doing wrong?

Could this be made with silk yarn?

On the row where you're going into the top loop to start building the sides of the bag. At the end, you've done all your hdc in each st. Are you going into the "V" of the chain or of the first hdc?

Thank you very much, I’ve just started crocheting again and came across your channel. New sub 🙂💕🇨🇦 I want to make this for my granddaughter for a makeup bag . Do you think it’s big enough for that ? If not, what would I do to make it a bit larger ?

Thanks for subbing! If you want to make it bigger you will have to do more rounds in the base. Try this one first and see how you get on. Please join our Facebook group as well, where we all help each other with the tutorials from this channel. facebook.com/groups/opheliatalkscrochet. Have fun. Anja 😘

Beautiful bag! I’m just wondering, how would I make it in a smaller size? Would the pattern still work if I did 5 rounds on the bottom instead of 6? Thanks for your help!

I think you just use smaller yarn? Maybe it’ll work?

Is there a way to make the seam less visible?

My yarn is thicker and hook is bigger too. Can I stop at 50 V's like 50 stitches if I don't want it to be very big?

Yes I will be making at least 15 to 20 for X'mas how many yarns does it take to make one bag

These are so pretty .. eat instructions to follow.. my only question is how do I make them so the holes are tighter. I used peaches and cream cotton 8-4 but I still have holes... Please help... Should I maybe use, cotton 8-8??

Hi Tiggeroo, yes, I'd suggest you either use a smaller hook, or a thicker yarn, either way you should get a denser fabric, thank you for watching, Anja x
