This video was spot on. He explained it perfectly, with just the right amount of detail. took about an hour and a half to replace the pump and get it back together. 2 thumbs up!
Mike
Glad you were able to do your repair! If we can help in the future please let us know!
Thanks for this great video. My drain pump died yesterday and searched for DIY video. Ordered new pump from Amazon yesterday and it arrived today. Followed video step by step, and everything went great. FYI, I am not very handy in any way, but this video made the replacement really easy.
You're welcome!
Have used this tutorial twice to replace two drain pumps, excellent work Simon and APP!
Thank you for making those video available! This helped me gain the confidence to fix my own washer, saving hundreds of dollars. I did find the pump for way cheaper tho... saved me money too!
THANK YOUUUU! I feel like a badass doing this myself! Didn’t even need to replace it then (found a tiny chunk of mulch lodged in the spinning blade of the drain pump, removed it, put everything back together and the damn thing works again). $0 spent!! You’re my hero.
This is the best video for describing how to replace the drain pump on my Samsung WF41H5200AW/A2 01 washing machine. It took me forever to find it but it was worth the wait. Thank you.
Great tutorial video - exactly what was needed for the replacement of the drain pump.
I really appreciate this guy he was very helpful I had a lil update model but following his steps worked well only thing I could say was it was decently hard to access certain spots with the washer down so I had it elevated the whole repair and it was easy to look down on the whole washer assembly and fix it that way but all in all a great video
This is a truly excellent repair video. It was very clear and I had no trouble following it. Thank you!
This video was very well made and walked me through the process of replacing my washer pump. Thank you
Very well made video, thank you for posting, got my washing machine back up and running in no time!
THIS IS SO GOOD! This is a dang high quality video. My Samsung is only months old but here I am. Very useful video!!
Excellent step by step instructions! Thank you for putting this out there.

Great video. Guided me step by step in replacing my drain pump.
Thank you! Before doing the full disassembly, I pulled the drain filter and cleaned it. That wasn't the fix. Then I found a bunch of hair inside the filter area to the left where the drain pump is located. It must have got through the filter somehow and was preventing the pump impeller from spinning. Removed the hair with a small hook and needle nose pliers. Worked fine after that. No further work needed. Thanks again for the great video! Gave me the confidence to troubleshoot it myself and save a bunch of cash!
Glad we were able to help you out. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
You saved my inept repair bacon! Thank you

You are welcome!
Thanks for saving me $400.
You're welcome!
Thanks for sharing. 😀
Great job, but you can replace the drain more simply, just release the three screws of the drain from the washer bottom,.... Regards
Thank you for that information. Our videos are just general videos and some models may be different than the one that is used in the video. The repair may not be as simple as just releasing the screws.
I have an issue with Samsung putting two mounting pump screws behind the front panel so you will need remove more pieces to do a simple job... WOW Samsung.
If there is anything we can help you with please let us know. Good luck with your repair and let us know how it goes!
After replacement, the drain kicks on and drains at the beginning of the cycle. However, at the end of a normal cycle it does not initiate drain pump. Any though what would cause that?
Have you had any error codes come up on the machine?
What is the issue if the problem is still happening after replacing this part?
I put a new one in, ran a test rinse/spin cycle and it worked great.
Then I did a regular load and the same “se” error code popped up and there’s water in washer again.
Help! There is a hose, the one that he says to release from clips inside the door.has white fabric on it…can be seen at 5:01.
I cannot find the place where it connects to the other (not the pump).
What is the model number of your appliance?
Hello! I have a slightly similar issue, although the pump is not the problem. The filter is jammed for some reason, and I cannot seem to remove it through any method - after removing the pump and filter from the machine and verifying there are no foreign objects inside the housing I'm stumped as to why I cannot pull the filter from it. Perhaps there is something I can't see somewhere inside - through the pump attachment entrance should I be able to hypothetically rotate the filter completely? I can turn it roughly an inch in either direction before it stops moving.. I wasn't sure if that was normal, and if not presumably there is an object somewhere inside I can't locate. The filter cap clicks when I turn to the left regardless of if I push or pull, though if I pull it clicks considerably less harshly and just grinds. This is not my washing machine, and though the part number is the same the filter is gray as opposed to white - might I have the wrong filter? I apologize for so many questions, but any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
The filter comes out counter clock wise. You may have to use channel lock pliers to pull it out as sometimes things such as hair bands and other objects might have it stuck.
Where is the recirculation pump ?
What is your model number?
What is the difference between 00178a and 000178d
We do apologize but the numbers that you have provided are not showing as good part numbers. Can you please verify those numbers for us?
@@appliancepartspros my mistake. It looks like it is sam-dc31-00178a & sam-dc31-00187d drain pumps. It shows them being compatible, but one is $50 & the other $150.
What is the model number of your appliance?
@@appliancepartspros wf45k6200aw/a5
Thank you! Per the model number that you have provided I am seeing part number DC97-17999M which would be for the whole assembly and part number DC31-00187A would be just for the drain pump and nothing else.
Seriously ? what a PITA.
