Based on my experience of checking and testing drain pumps, a resistance test is a necessary condition but not sufficient condition. even a test run is also a necessary condition, but not sufficient condition for a good working pump, because these two conditions are all about the motor. in my humble opinion, a good motor is still a necessary condition for a good working pump, however, it is not sufficient condition for a functioning pump. the pump impeller check is very crucial for an operational pump.
Please leave your thoughts on checking and testing the drain pump.

Mine had a quarter stuck on the drain hose. Since I had the washer on its side, I took advantage and cleaned all of the hoses, rubber seal, etc. Confident it was gonna work, I installed it did a test run and still didn't drain. 😂 I know 120 volt was going to the motor.
When the drain feature was activated I can hear a humming noise coming from the drain pump. I took off the drain pump, tested it outside by plugging it in, Turn on the washer and selected "spin only cycle" --- Propeller was stuck.
Since it was damage I took it out from the housing and verified that it was crack. The replacement cost me less than a 24pk of beers 🍻

Nice job! Humming sound is the sign either pump stuck or seized. Thanks for sharing.

This is a great video. I tested my resistance and it shows 7.2… the spin test seems to work well, but it is not spraying. When I run the dishwasher, I can hear it lightly clicking when it is supposed to be running.

Hi thank you so much for such a detailed explanation. If I have a Bloomberg washer, I did the two things u mentioned on the drain pump. 1. Turning the propeller, showing resistance. 2. Test with multimeter, showing 86 ohms.
On Bloomberg manual is specifies than winding resistance of drain pump is 88.5 ohms.
Is my drain pump broken or no? Thank you.

Apply power to the drain pump without load to see if it run properly. Thanks for watching, Good luck.

Hi there, i checked my pump and there is 220 omh resistance, its ok plus impeller is allright but it still doesnt pump out the water. Machine stops working after it fills with water and do not spin neither pump out the water. Do you know what else may cause it?

Why does my washer machine delay to start spinning and washing when I click the start and it will take long to start, and also leaking some water underneath yet all horses fit properly

As far as I can know, check timer if your washer has one, for leaking if hose and fittings are good, it might be seal. Good luck.

@@guelphming3843 for leaks, it keeps dropping underneath the washer machine but all the horses are fitting, so how do I know that the timer is faulty. Glad to hear from you again
