  • SAMSUNG WASHER NOT DRAINING - STEP BY STEP DRAIN PUMP REPLACEMENT. This video will explain step by step how to replace a Samsung washer drain pump, the drain pump can fail if sand or small rocks get in behind the pump impeller and cause the bearing to prematurely wear out. There is a filter in this machine right before the pump that will catch bigger things and keep them from getting caught in the pump, which needs to be cleaned out at least once a year.
The drain pump not working will cause error code SE, the tub may not empty fully or not at all, when this happens the door doesn't usually unlock. Do not pull really hard to get the door open, this will break the door lock assembly, and then you have 2 problems. I would go into the drain filter area, and take the cap off the drain hose, you will have to deal with a lot of water, but once its low enough the door will usually unlock.
You can get your OEM parts here fix.pxf.io/B0rA7q

Hi Greg - I want to say thank you for this video. It helped inspire me to take on changing out that drain pump when my Samsung front loader failed to drain last week. My first instinct was to just replace the machine, but then I thought about fixing it after I realized it would cost more than $700 to replace. It was your video out of several others i watched which gave me the confidence to attempt to fix our washer myself. I ordered the part on Amazon for $19.88. It came yesterday and repaired our washer in less than two hours without any issues. Thanks to your easy-to-follow step by step instruction, my wife is happy, and thinks I am super smart to have been able to fix our washer myself. That is worth almost as much as the money I saved.

⚡The wire connection is AC⚡ So do not worry about reversing the wires if you need to cut your connector off and make a new connection. I am positive that Greg knows this, but I wanted to post a comment just in case anyone was worried about hooking it up in reverse. Great video Greg, Thank you for posting! 😎👍

Hello Greg - sincere thanks for the step by step instructions. The video is well done, nicely paced and your explanation of the process (including warnings and tips) was spot on.
Mine replacement pump did not require me to cut the Clio off, however the white plastic housing would not fit the replacement.
My washer has a bottom drawer assembly. To lift the washer to get at the 2 bottom front panel screws I do to unclamp the bottom feet of the washer from the drawer.
You carefully pull off the plastic cover (looks like a right angle), then a screw clamps the washer feet to the top of the drawer- it was easy.
The washer is working again, my wife is happy (which is always a good thing) and we saved a couple hundred buck (another good thing!).
Great job and again Thank You !

This video is brilliant! I have this same model type (well, a step or two down from this one, but it's the exact same setup in white without the steam feature) and your steps took me right through getting this done. Saved me a ton of time and a couple hundred bucks for the repair man. THANK YOU for putting this together! One small bit I'll add ... the screws at the back of the lid are 10mm and the bolts that hold the drain motor assembly to the base of the machine are 12mm. Thanks again! Would like this one twice if I could!

Greg, you are a rock star. Thank you for posting this informative video. Saved the day. Although for others, I will add it wasn't clear to me if the drain pump was the culprit as the agitation wasn't consistently working on different jobs, so I was wondering if the electronics/brain was on the fritz. Finally after many trials (and manual drainings) I did finally see a "ND" diagnostic code pop up and decided to attempt the steps in your video. Thanks again for a wonderfully positive use of the Internet. :)

Well, your video inspired me to explore replacing my drain pump after ruling out a plugged drain hose. In the process of trying to remove the drain pump, I disconnected the hose connecting the pump to the washer drum and out fell a soaking wet footy suck entangled with a rusty straightened paper clip. Drainage problem solved! So in a roundabout way, thanks for the great video Greg!!

Worked perfectly. Your presentation is spot on. I have a Kenmore, but they are made by Samsung.
My replacement pump had the harness connector but I did notice someone else had mentioned the issue of which wire to which connection.
The only other issue might be that under the pump mounting bracket are rubber bushing/shock absorbers. They will stick to the bracket but will fall off and bounce away. Keep an eye open for that.

Hello Mr. Greg. I thought I owe you at least to let you know how my project went. First and foremost Thank you for sharing this video. U are the man! Got the part yesterday afternoon and decided to install today cause its kind of late and I want to make a fresh start. So I did. Machine works like a charm. Did my drain pump test and I instantly heard the water coming out of the pipe. What a relief after two weeks I spent at Laundromat (with my last day not wearing underwear) joke.... It took longer to receive the part than putting it all back together. But no judging please. After all I am done, I have five screws too many. LOL I know where the two from (its from my head) they were loose and it finally came out. Now I am on my third load and back in business. Thanks Man!

    • @Thomasappliance
      @Thomasappliance  2 роки тому

Thanks for watching Thomas Miller, the answer to that one is tricky. It should be ok but the higher wattage will affect amperage which could cause an issue with the circuitry if it has fairly tight allowances on current flow. The pump will also run hotter which shouldn't be an issue but could affect other things around it. The best answer I think is to get the proper oem part. Or possibly ask the manufacturer what they recommend.

You can unplug the machine for 20 minutes and plug it back in to kick start the board, but it sounds like it is draining but not fast enough.
