Even today in (french) restuarant they will note if the pheasant (french, faisan or game in general) is aged. Most french faisan are mostly farm raised today. .
@@RamblersInc they clean the bird's innards and dry age them by hanging them in a cool large walk-in refrigerator. It is the same process as dry aging beef. I call dry aging meat controlled rotting 🤣. It was winter in Izu. I guess Blackthorn thought it was ok to hang it outside.
The reason that Toranaga left so quickly was that he was deep in Yabu's territory and he didn't trust Yabu. Something that no one seems to mention is the costuming. I find I'm riveted by the sight of the immaculate layers of silk at the nape of someone's neck. The layers are immaculate, the patterns exquisite and the colors muted and tasteful. I,can't even breathe sometimes, just trying to imagine how all of that would feel. It must be a fetish of some kind.
You're so right. All the costumes in this are another level. I'm so glad they took the time to make it this accurate. And I agree, they look amazing at times.
