Torunga: If you were to go against the combined forced of the portugese and the catholics you would be hopelessly outnumbered
Blackthorne: I guess if the catholics came at me with all their force they might give me a little trouble
Torunga: But would you lose?
Blackthorne: Nah I'd win
The tension in this show is so good, I am in love with this story!!
20:49 "Nah I'd Win"
Back then, the water wasnt clean, plus it took a lot of effort to heat water. So in a family, the man would wash first, then the mom, then the older kids then last.. the baby. Which is where the expression "Dont throw the baby with the wash water" or essentially, dont throw out something good when you want to throw out or get rid of something bad.
Bathing only occasionally, is why they had lots of weddings in june. Its a lot easier to bathe in warmer weather. They were generally cleaner. Plus the reasons why women carries flowers going down the aisle.
3 body problem ? anyone? i liked it a lot
It's a good show. Lots of scary moments.
If was amazing x I hope they react to it. I’m sure they would love it
It’s like Naruto, 5 ninja villages against each other 😭
Bro pulled the "nah, i'll win"
bro that blackthorne edit lowkey scared the fuck out of me 🤣
oooh my god i'm finally in the comment in the intro. the angels can take me, i've achieved everything i needed to in this life
My interpretation of Toranaga switching rooms and baiting out the assassination was also to confirm if Blackthorne was telling the truth.
This show is so good. Best in years
Fact: GRRM partially inspired the Shōgun novel to portray the power plays of GOT. Said it in an interview.
Like to point out that this series is based real historical events and these people really lived.
I really like the camera work in this show and the act, John ( anjin ) is like a type of Yasuke in this show
Love the Warrior call back lol 😂
The man with a disfigured face is based on Ohtani Yoshitsugu.
Otani is said to have hidden his face because he suffered from Hansen's disease.
7:58 that genuinely jump scared me
13:22 fun fact japanese steel really isn't serious it's quite poor in quality hence the need for it to be folded and refined so much.
Anime and movies have done katanas a lot of service in the PR department lmaooo
yup this^
Yes, IIRC that's why they needed to do their whole folding process in the first place, to purify their otherwise poor quality iron.
日本刀作成で鋼鉄を軟鉄で挟む理由は、柔軟さと頑丈さを両立させるためです
全てを鋼鉄にすれば柔軟さが不足して簡単に折れてしまいます
@@TehIdiotOne
WTF???? i thought i was hallucinating!!!!! @7:56
Please pay attention to Tadanobu Asano's performance as Kasigi Yabu.
Nah I'd Win
Why did this remind me of the assassination scenes from shogun total war 2 where the assassin failed
I thought it was more like now toranaga knows the priest guy was confirmed untrustworthy
Not only did the attack prove Blackthorn was telling the truth, it proved the priests were willing to kill
That’s why Toranaga had Mariko translate for him. He didn’t trust the Portuguese priest
@@andrewward5891 yea i know. But this attack happening right after he confronted the priest to his face quite literally confirms without a shadow of a doubt that the priests now want him dead and that blackthorn was telling the truth
7:56 that’s crazy
Awesome reaction of my favorite episode of Shogun!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
The last scene is my favorite
You guys are some of the only reactors that actually pay attention to the shows. Love watching
Y'all should consider reacting to Tokyo Vice after y'all done with this.
7:55 YOU DID NOT HAHAHA
7:53 cmon editor 🤣🤣🤣
5:19 .. not really, she currently holds her religion far above a savage 😅 - 7:56 😂😂
It’s funny Blackthorn is like the Portuguese are unbelievable for splitting the world in half and the British empire was literally fighting wars with them to do the same thing. Won and then “ruled” over 412 million people up until 1913 😂
Toranaga out here playing chess
I haven’t become this instantly addicted to a show in years! The scene of Blackthorn telling Lord Toranaga about the true motives of the church was so gripping I was literally at the edge of my seat. It also shows why I never want to be part of most religious organizations.
Now you see why protestantism was born, love to my Catholic bros and sis, but yall were wilding for tooo long back then
I can't wait for you guys to see the next episodes. It only gets crazier from here!
@Lupasan "sword compartment" gon go over a lot of peoples heads
i looked up the haircut when i first started watching and apparently in a way its meant to look silly to show that your devoted to god and vanity doesnt matter!
Note that the Priest kept calling her Maria, her quote-unquote 'Christian' name, but Blackthorn had the decency and respect to call her Mariko and to say it correctly (aside from needing to be told about the -sama thing)
I'm pretty certain that Blackthorne has no idea what her Christianized name is, when the priest is speaking to her and calls her Maria they are alone so he would've never even heard it, hence why he only knows her name as Mariko. I don't really think it's a sign of decency and respect, rather it's the only name he knows her as
@@Dell-ol6hb Yeah but that doesn't matter, the priest definitely knows her real name but refuses to call her by it. It's less that Blackthorn doesn't know her Christianized name and moreso that he not only said her name, but said it correctly.
@@Altanese I don't think she's offended by her Christian name. She is a devout Catholic and most likely okay with the priest calling her that.
@@arseniczirconium9098 Bruh tell me where in the Bible it says 'also change your name to something white people are more comfortable with'. If she's so great with that then why does everyone else still call her Mariko? Shouldn't she be insisting they call her Maria since she's so devout?
@@Altanese Feels like a solid half of “white people names” are from biblical origins or the supposed companions of Jesus. Literally think of a random name ben dave sarah john 😂
i swear man, everytime they say the word pirate in Japanese, i think of one piece lol
That haircut represents the crown of thorns placed on Jesus?
As much as how Xenophibic, Unruly Japanese history is, got to hand it to them, the fact that a small island stood against the outside world, other nations, religions for over 1,000s of years is amazing.
Their 'bushido' spirit is literally ruthless, fearless and loyal. Japanese back then, had always known as ''red ants''.
This show is awesome
Low key this episode had some of the best acting. Their reactions when the colonizer explains the world to them... Super good acting 🔥
Sheera constantly roasting a religious haircut LOL
The dog face edit 😂😂👍🏿
Man pulled a "Nah, I'd win" and got away with it
3 Body Problem reaction?
7:56 😂😂😂😂😂
