I can't wait to make one, thanks
Gosh, now I want to make the Jethro cardigan! I haven't crochet a granny square in years but want to now. Thanks Tanis for your drive and passion for Granny Squares--I love them too. The Knitting Place (Dina and Pam) are selling kits and starting a CAL for this cardigan-in case you didn't know. It's really a unique piece.
Once you start making Granny Squares it's hard to stop!
Great video🎉! Thanks for sharing your thoughts of making the patterns. And of your little grey cat❤
SO EXCITED to do my very first crochet project. Love how modern the cardigan is. I will for sure join a MAL and have a hope that you are going to attend ( or vend) at Flock FIber Festival in August. My goal is to wear my sweater and can imagine a Jethro Meetup ( a la Rhinebeck meetups on the hill ) I would be thrilled to help you organize and promote this. You’ve started something! I never liked crochet projects and now I am ON FIRE to start this one. Let’s keep in touch - i know of several people who are starting the cardigan and will have done by FLOCK. Congratulations and well done!
I sadly will not be at Flock Fiber Festival but saw lots of Jethro's at last weekend's Knit City Toronto and, let me tell you, it was a THRILL!
So glad to see you like knitting and crochet together. I too knit a granny square cardigan that also had knitting AND almost the same "white" turtleneck pullover with granny squares on the chest! Are you sure you aren't spying on me? LOL Presently I am knitting the Prairie Skies pullover (which has granny squares) and will be starting the Link Sweater which uses' both knit and crochet.w
Oooh I hadn't seen Prairie Skies. So pretty!
@@tanisfiberarts1999 I’m really enjoying it. I’m not a crocheter so finding patterns that have both knitting and crochet keep me challenged just enough. Do you plan on creating other patterns using both?
Hi Tanis, thanks for such a wonderful pattern. I love the Jethro cardigan design. I purchased the pattern. I am done with all the granny square element. The next thing to do is to knit the sleeves and the button band. A KAL would be fun. Let me know if you are holding the knit/crochet along. I am going to make another one for my daughter. She loves rainbow too.
Awesome! Sounds like you're making great progress already! I am currently running a KAL over on Instagram. The details are all in a post from last week!
Hello Tanis! I just bought the pattern for the cardigan and am currently musing about my choices regarding yarn and colors, so fun. I would love a knit-and-crochet-along, can you imagine all the different projects and color combinations?! It is going to be a very pleasant riot! 😊🧶 Happy knitting!
A pleasant riot! I love that. 💖
I have both of these patterns on the go and had the perfect stash pairings for each. I'm so happy to be able to combine my love of crochet with knitting. ❤
That's so great! Nothing better than a stash buster. Happy stitching!
Love these two granny patterns! I associate granny squares with my own Grandma when I was little, may have been the start of my obsession with the yarn world! I may have to play with these and make cardigans foe my own granddaughters, 2 and 9! Happy Easter!
Thank you! Granny Squares are definitely very nostalgic for many of us!
I’m not ready to dip my toes into the hybrid projects yet, but I appreciated all your tips and the insight into design challenges.
The patterns are there when you're ready for them! 🩷
Great design and lovely video. You are quite relatable and your passion for your art shines through. I am a confident crocheter and not so much knitter; but love to do both. Have always wanted to knit a sweater, so perhaps starting with sleeves and a border will be an easier task and better odds for success. Will be purchasing your pattern. A KAL would be fun but I will be starting granny squares regardless. Thank you for sharing your journey with this project. Very creative indeed and your daughter’s sweater surely reveals your love for her!
Thank you so much! Jethro sounds like the perfect project for you to jump into knitting. Happy stitching!
Love them
Thank you!
Well!!!!! Those patterns are so cool… I will need to PURCHASE 🎉
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Abfab Tanis! I’m so on board for a make along. Looking forward to where you take this.
Thank you!
❤
Will you be making the child size pattern for the cardigan? I would love to make that for one of my granddaughters.
The sweater I made for my daughter is the smallest size in the pattern. I don't currently intended to publish a seperate pattern.
I can't find the playlist!! This project is on hold waiting for the instructions which were to be included in the pattern I purchased.
Hi there, if you click on the playlist tab on my UA-cam channel homepage you'll find it there. Here is a direct link:

I purchased both patterns and now don’t know which to start with! I’m thinking just starting with making squares and see what develops. Thanks
That sounds like the perfect approach! Word to the wise, once you start making squares it will be hard to stop! 😂
Good morning. I love your new design. I was just wondering about how you joined your granny squares. I thought you said there was a link down below I could not find the link at all. I have joined granny squares before but yours looks seamless.
I have a playlist with the method I use included. I'll edit the caption to include the link. Sorry!
@@tanisfiberarts1999 thank you so much!
What fun😍 Question… how did you hang those balls of yarn on the wall?
It's a pegboard with little 1.5" hooks. I just poke the yarn cake on the hook and voila! You can find them pretty easily at home building centers or online.
