Hi Selma, I regularly knit socks with Patons Kroy. I too found in to be heavier than fingering. In some places it is listed as sport weight. I use 2.5 mm. it makes a very sturdy sock.

Hi Selma! I have knit socks with Kroy for years. It is very hardy and definitely makes a thicker sock. I usually would knit a sock with 56 stitches and 2.25mm needles (I have a very narrow foot) but with Kroy I go down to 48 stitches and a 2.75mm needles to get a good fit. I would definitely suggest fewer stitches and bigger needles with this yarn. Once you find a good recipe I am sure you will enjoy using it. Makes for a warm sock that lasts for years. Some of mine might be as old as 15 years now. Thanks for another wonderful episode. Your blue vest looks lovely on you.

I'm not a white shirt wearer but I am a long sleeves and vest person. I don't wear cardigans, nor sweaters to be honest, as I like coats for the cold. I like a sleeve that goes inside a coat easy and a good vest for in between weather. A vest over a shirt, coat or no coat, is my favourite. I'll like knitting the same vest pattern again if I find I like wearing what I made, and I've often made the same in different yarns for different effects. Changing colours and/or textures or to get a fabric with different insulation qualities.

Same thing happened to me regarding the Kroy sock yarn. I have been using this yarn for possibly 40 years, but since the earthquake in Turkey (where the yarn is produced) is not the same. Also could be that Yarn Inspirations has taken over the production. I changed needle size and less stitches but still wasn't happy. Ended up knitting a scarf with it.
I love patons kroy. I usually use size 2 needles 2.75mm. They work great. I think patons kept is a sport weight. The yarn is gorgeous

Hei hei - I have knit two Lentos and I plan on making a lot more! It fits so well and it is easy to wear and style. The last one was a fade, and I am going to make at least three more in a fade as well. It is a great way to use up random skeins. 🇨🇦🇫🇮

Thank you for this podcast, very interesting as always. I used the Kroy Fx a few years ago, checked back in my Ravelry projects, and saw that I used 2.75mm. My son loves them! Selma, yet another lovely episode - thanks. Kroy socks I find work out nicely on 2.5 mm or even 2.75. That lovely block printed fabric from India is lovely and I recommend you dry it in the dryer after wash so that it shrinks however much (I lived in India and sewed a lot of garments with their beautiful textiles). I immediately thought that you would suit a spring/summer skirt in the gipsy or bohemian hippy style - two or three tiers and an elastic waist etc.

Beautiful garments as always! I have heard others comment that bourette silk is more ethical and since this is important to me, I finally did a deep dive into silk production and found it disturbing. I suggest to people interested in this, look into it yourselves. I’m not sure how I will proceed since I do love silk.

I love finding a pattern that perfectly fits my style and fits perfectly. I love the fit and versatility of the Rock-It Tee. The v-neck style suits me and using some knitting math I have used different yarn weights, different sleeves and different body lengths. I think having that go to pattern is a great benefit to your wardrobe. I love the new blue vest.

Currently knitting a Salty Air Tee, and my Weekender Crew by Andrea Mowry is blocking. I had knit and pulled back a very significant amount of the Weekender as I felt my original chosen size was over large, feeling that I shall be happy with next size down, given that it is a dropped shoulder design!🤞🤞Happy knitting and sewing 🧵
I have heard the weekender can end up overly oversized!!

I have found using the Kroy that I had to decrease to 56 stitches using a 2.5 needle. I wear a size 8.5 shoe and have a narrow foot. I think the density of the fabric will make a long wearing sock. Hope that helps you. I always enjoy your videos. The test tee in the silk is lovely.

With Paton's Kroy sock yarn, I always cast on 54 stitches and use a size 2 needle. This works out great. I agree, it's more of a sport weight. It's a lovely, hard-wearing yarn. And bonus -- that it knits up faster!

I love a vest over a white shirt, as well. I knitted the Stockholm Slipover in navy blue but will be casting on another soon. I also added two inches to the length. Your blue version is lovely and I'm anxious to find some yarn in that color.

I have knit two Stockholm vests in the v-neck configuration. I chose it for the same reasons….narrow shoulder.

Love your Stockholm Slipover. I knit the V neck version a couple of years ago and the shoulders were too wide so appreciate your comments about the modifications you made. At the moment, here in Maine, the snow has stopped and the sleet is coming down and trees are popping and snapping outside so your episode was a comforting diversion. Planning to go to Montreal this spring so also appreciate the yarn store adventures. Les garcons looks fab!

Dear Selma, the pinks and blues suit you so well. You almost glow in a lovely way. I wish I had oodles of money to trip around the world and come do a workshop with you. ❤ South Australia is a bit far away. One day. Have you ever knit the Stockholm vest in a fingering weight yarn? I knit the Ilha with a lace/fingering yarn, 4mm needles. Its light and airy but will still be warm. Good as a lightweight travel garment when we visit Guernsey after Egypt/Jordan in November.
I have returned to work but not doing nursing. Just cleaning/making up motel rooms. As the cost of living is getting expensive. And the super is getting chewed up. Im good at making beds.😂
Wow Selma your 3rd Stockholm Slipover is beyond perfection. How that blue makes your eyes pop! 🩵 Yes yes to a grey one 👌🏼 … every colour!! I want to make one now. And a Lento. The Nutiden and mohair combo you’ve got going is stunning. The Coastland Cowl in your Granite Cardi leftovers would be verrry nice. I also need to make a Giselle (insert any of the patterns here.. hat, shawl, etc) Such a lovely catch up as always.

What a great vlog Selma, I so much enjoyed watching it! Your FO's are beautiful and so are your WIP's Wow for the Lento sweater, a beautiful pink and it looks so soft.The Dove Blue from KfO is such a beautiful blue. I keep that in mind. The vlog about Montreal was very interesting. Oh I would love to visit those shops! We should go to East Canada in the future, been to the west part of the country quite a few times but never to the east!

Hi,regarding the Patons yarn,I noticed it is an FX and I find it is thicker then Patons other sock yarns
Used 2.5 m needles when I knitted socks for my partner with Patons Kroy (blue striped ragg). Texture perfect and he was delighted!

The Stockholm vest just jumped up to the front of my to make list!
I also made a lento in one strand of Nutiden (LOVE Nutiden!) plus mohair and it’s amazing. So light, fits really well (mine is definitely oversized and I prefer that) and I never get hot or cold in it.

All the sweaters are beautiful. I love your colors. Le Garsone is really nice! I have two of Max's patterns. Right now I'm knitting the Tulpe Top by Lisa Hannes. It is so easy to knit! I recently was able to get some Juniper Moon Patagonia. organic merino. Two colors, rust and one called Charoite. It's a dusty purple. The pattern is so easy! I'm half way done already. So simple! and really pretty.

I have to laugh - when I saw Stockholm Slipover, my mind changed it to Stopover and I thought you'd been to Europe! :D Guess I'm more tired than I realized but that's ok. Oh, you've been on the hunt for that perfect blue for quite some time. How lovely that you made it happen. It does suit you well.

Thanks for your detailed directions on your modifications on the Stockholm Slipover. I have that pattern and I’ve wanted to knit it. I’m not an experienced garment knitter, so hearing how someone changed a pattern is helpful, especially since I like how the shoulders of your vest turned out. I didn’t think about knitting a smaller size for the shoulders and then I guess I would need to increase it for a larger bust? I wish I could take the class that you’re teaching. Have you thought about making a video series to teach beginner garment knitters how to modify garments to fit better? Cheers! ❤
