Man, that's a real blast from the past. I actually had the Shox VC2 in the white and red colorway, lasted about year and a half being my main ball and casual shoes, I remember them being confortable but it may be my mind playing me with nostalgia and the fact that back then at 22-23 yo my feet and legs didn't ended too much in pain after playing in them. I actually really liked playing in these. I was a junior in college and I played every game in these. White, black and red, slightly different than the team model we had in the shoe closet. I'm pretty sure I could jump 4 inches higher because this shoe had all the shox. ; )
Loved playing in these as a kid! Was always more of a fan of the BB4 lookswise but this takes me way back to going to basketball camp in the summer as a 7 year old. Always love videos like these!

The VC2 are a huge, huge grail back in Cape Town. The 3s didn't have quite the same hype, but they still got love. It's one of those regional things where it was the first to break a price barrier--I think it was over 1000 rand, or something--and it stayed popular. I have the VC5s still.

These really aren't that bad lol. Wore (and still have) the metallic silver VC2s and those were arguably "worthy" of being a sig shoe. Different strokes for different folks I guess :) Much respect for picking these up and giving love to old school sneakers.
We got to vote for these or the huarache as a team shoe in 04-05. People were so hyped on the “shock” it won hands down. Like all my teammates thought they would actually jump higher. The huarache was dope too.
I worked for Goodwill. You wouldn't believe the shoes I came across and purchased. Jordans, KD''s, to AirMax! All shoes where $4.99! So yea I stocked up! Seventy sum pluses pairs I've purchased through out my time there!!
On foot those are beastly! I remember there were black and red ones back in the day. I think Shox never took off because they were mad unconformable to hoop in. Great pickup.
The only person who could take "flight" with these sneakers was Vince Carter... I stil have the OG black ones on a shelving in the garage and I remember when I used to wear them they seems like carbon bricks jajaja.I never used for basketball, but In spite of that I think they are nice representing one of the best players and dunkers of all time. These actually had a takedown model called the Nike Air Flight Hops. It was basically the same shoe minus the vc branding and the shox and instead had encapsulated air and a soft ass midsole. It's an obscure shoe for sure but definitely worth trying out, one of my favorite basketball shoes to play in back in the day.
this is actually my favorite model for Vince. I still have my VC3 in red white and black, and they are in great shape... because I can't wear them for long ;) I saw a review on kicksology back in the day, and he loved them, so I found a pair on ebay a millions years ago. my rating: #1 VC3 - red, white, black is my fave colorway #2 VC2 - the all black ones and the white/red are tied for my fave colors #3 BB4. the classic, I owned the white and red ones #4 the og VC1 has a special place in my heart because I used to get shoes for my nephews when they were little little, and the sliver and blue zip up joints were fire #5 VC4. it didn't do much for me #6 VC5... I honestly forgot they even made a 5 haha honorable mention vc2 low. not sure where to rate these, but I always thought they were interesting, and SO different than the highs. reminded me how how the 11 low IE was its own animal man. the VC line was really special, even though they were uncomfortable, and inconsistent
Admittedly, I was a youngster in '03 (was only 7 years old) but shox were the kicks that slowly brewed my passion for sneakers! They were also my first pair of shoes that weren't from Payless and I couldn't have loved them more! Wore them to the ground and eventually had to toss them out but the memories will last forever ❤️ P.S. stupid but I found it funny that the video length is 13:37 😂
Our coach picked these for our team shoe in 8th grade jv and I still remember how everyone hated them so much we had team meetings over them bc we complained about them so much lol. Eventually he gave up and let us wear whatever we wanted.

I really liked VCs line. To ME they were really great to play in. They weren't soft like zoom witch is my favorite kind of cushion but the full length shox IMO worked really well!! They were stable as hell and had good heel to toe transition. I had the BB4 and I copped VC 1 thru 3 and I played in all of them and loved all of them. I think those are super great looking.
During my college days i owned 2 pairs (metallic silver) Shox VC 1. I hooped with it for a solid 2 years on concrete floor , it don't really feel clunky at all :D.

Vc4 are my favorite. They added forefoot zoom on those. The 2 lows are OK too since those were the only low cut of his line. One of the conspiracy theories was VC started getting injured when he switched to shox. Agree that these were a gimik back in the day and the shox line release coincided with replica versions being popular here in PH.
These are awesome to me from a design point of view, kind of a timeless aesthetic due to the flow and simple lines. They might be bricks, but they look hella cool!
Big VC fan here. There are five signature shoes for VC line. It seems that VC himself didnt like VC III since he mostly wore VC II that year. My assumption is III is also too heavy for him. BTW, the VC IV probably his favorite, he wore the custom one in one of his season games with Kings! And that pair broken before halftime!
VC2 & VC3 are grails for me cause of the sentimental value. First sneakers I got after back to back foot surgeries. The suede on the black on black VC2 was dope af
I had the Team Shox senior year in HS and they are one of my favorite basketball shoes of all time. I don’t remember them being uncomfortable or heavy. Or maybe I just didn’t know what good basketball shoes were back then 😬
the late 90s-early 2Ks Nike's really didn't do it for me and made me try Reeboks for the first time, they were putting out some sneakers that still had some early 90s vibes which i loved.
Had the VC 5, USA colorway, the last shoe I played with in "official" games. Back in 2002/03 I got them for 65€, at 50% off... These are nice too, but the best (looking) Shox he had were the VC 2, with the zipper, IMO. As far as his dopest, I have to go with the Tai-Chi he killed the dunk contest with!!!
OMG...! I worked my ass off on my grades when I was 14, 2004, just to get a permission from my parents to buy these back-then crazy looking shoes..! Man, i ended up not getting these though :( not cuz I didn’t get the grades but cuz I decided to buy other thing... One of my friends gave them to me later in 2007. They were almost worn out, but i remember i was still satiated with them. Man good old days!

Liked the BB4 but that VC2 was my joint in white and red!! They were so 🔥🔥🔥 Got many compliments when I rocked them.
I loved the BB4s. I even hooped in the VC2 lows. However, I messed up my knee in these. The lateral stability was pretty bad. I had the triple black.
