Glad you both had a good time up there. If you dig a little into the history of that point, or hop in your boat for a little drive, you will probably find a couple shoreline shipwrecks, to add to your fun trip... Hope you both stay well. Hope to maybe meet you all some day in person. From Lansing, MI. You both have a great weekend.
2 years ago we did our side… spectacular. We were not allowed to cross the border then. Finishing the trip this time. My Mom grew up in the Soo, born in Port Arthur. Always referred to Lake Superior as god’s country… she was right.
I was there about a month ago, too! I thought the water was warm though. I have been doing research and discovered that Patrick McGulpin was my 6th great grandfather. Love your videos, you visit the kinds of places I like to visit.
Well, Poppins is just full of fun! The steps of that lighthouse reminded me of Peninsula Point Lighthouse on the southern shore of the U.P. I climbed it last year, and I wasn't daunted by the height of those spiral stairs, but their small size--I guess people really were smaller back in the mid 1800's!
I'm not sure when you shot this, but it says the video came out 5 days ago. We were at Mackinaw this past week and my wife and I were talking about your winter trip to the Island. We had a great time. Beautiful weather!
Looks like Chuck had a different pair of goggles for every occasion. lol. The water always looks so clear in your videos. Is it really that clear where you're at, or does the camera just make it look that way? I visit Duluth, MN a few times per year and the water in the shipping channel under the lift bridge is dark brown.
😂😂😃 Dollar General had an end of summer sale on goggles. Actually, it is that clear. I suspect the shipping channel is deep and muddy enough that you can't see bottom.
@@RestlessViking Hey, thanks for the reply! One of these summers I want to visit the UP again. It's been many years since I've been there and it was for work so I didn't have much time for personal fun. Next time I'd like to plan a camping trip in the UP. Thanks again.
Spent the weekend in Traverse city, beautiful weather over the weekend and checked out a life saving station and old mission light house. Looks like you guys had a great weekend as well!
How fun! Miss my lakes.
As much as you miss your estranged daughters?
LOVE it!
There are times I worry about both of you..... then I remember, it's the Viking and Poppins! No Worries! Fun, informative video! Loved it!
You 2 crack me up; so much fun. Fascinating about Mcgulpine rock that it doesn’t get phased by the elements of Lake Michigan. 💗💪
Agreed, the ice especially.
Great video, gotta love upper Mi! YehaWW!! :) Tripping with the Vike and Poppin,,real kewl...:)
Thanks for sharing knowledge and your adventure.
Thanks for watching!
What a fun video!

Indeed. We have many video ideas for the history of the Straits and McGulpin. Have a terrific Sunday!
I know that rock.... spend many hours on that beach...
You guys are a hoot. How was the snorkeling?
Cold!
John and Susan… fans from Canada.. heading your way.. crossing at the Soo, spending time in the UP, circumnavigating Lake Superior.
Hello John and Susan! That will be a terrific trip. I'll admit I like your side better for that trip, but it is all great!👌

We live in Kingston ON… at the confluence of some pretty impressive waterways..

Great video, love how playful this video was and the laughter! Looking forward to more adventures!! Marilyn and Marc from Beaver Island, MI.
Hello Marilyn and Marc! Thanks!
Great stuff - thank you! Have been near that rock, but didn't know it existed or the history. Definitely will check it out in the future.
I love your videos so much, you guys are going to be huge someday.
That is exceedingly kind of you to say. Thank you!

That was a fun one!!
Too funny
Who knew Poppins was such a Stinker! Lol. I've seen that rock in person but never knew the history of it. Thanks for the video!

That lighthouse is actually in next week's video!!
Poppins, Santa knows if you've been naughty or nice. did you want coal again ?
Live the videos but sir, you may want to find a more manly hat 😂!
Will be in TC in January visiting family!
😂😂I suspected that the "sun hat" didn't fit my persona. . .
@@RestlessViking a manly man such as yourself could have used less straw and more canvas for sure
