I’ve started my travel channel about a year ago and still learning my way creating the best content. I’ve been working so far with DJI pocket 3 but I feel it might be time to upgrade to something more serious. First of all I really want to thank you for your videos! Your way of vloging simply speaks my language and for once, feels like someone really striving to simply educate, huge thanks for that! After watching lots of your videos I am sort of debating between the Canon R50 (for the value) and the R8 (for the full frame). You did mention in one of your videos that when filming interiors etc, a full frame is preferable. I’d really appreciate if you could better direct me to the right camera and- do you recommend going with the creators kits. Thank you 🙏🦔
If money wasn't an issue I'd for for the R8. That being said there are some wide lens option for the r50 that would make it capable of getting wide interiors so long as there is adequate light. The R8 will be a more forgiving when it comes to the amount of light.

Hi, I absolutely LOVE your videos. You were the main reason I bought the R50 :D. I was wondering if you knew of any battery grips that fit the canon R50? I do alot of videography and the battery life and changing batteries during shooting seems to be my biggest downfall, as it disrupts the flow of recording or I miss a fast cool moment while im changing it.

Recently retired and having major surgery next week. After recovering we are traveling!!! I’m not into video. I love landscape and street photography. A friend recommended I get the R50 ad a budget friendly camera for my skill set. Do u agree?

The R50 fits that bill pretty well. The Canon RF 16mm f2.8 would be a nice all arounder lens to start with.

@@Makeup-Effects I recently switched to a new backpack because I needed one that can carry a 16" macbook. I went with a brand called mosiso. It's on sale for around $70. I've used it now for about 6 months and it's been great so far.

What's up man? I lived in San Antonio for a few years. Nice city. If you are asking if the R50 is better than the M50 Mark II then I would say it is. The Main difference being the new AF and 4k without losing AF and without an additional crop.

Wich camera would you recommend if I can spend around 1500€ (with lens)?
Mainly for filming cars.
The Canon R7, The R8 and the Lumix S5II are great options close to that price range. If you want to go a bit cheaper the Sony ZVE-10 is also good.
Hi ive been using my r50 with the RF 35mm f1.8 and it’s been great, wondering if you’ve compared that to the sigma 18-35 f1.8, and whether i should make the switch to the EF lenses with the adapter you mentioned in the video. Thanks and great video!!
The RF 35mm f1.8 is a good lens. I wouldn't switch. The ND adapter is great but I wouldn't go that route unless I was planning on using a bunch of lenses that I wanted an internal ND filter for. If you will be mainly using one lens you can just use a screw on variable ND filter on it.

The cheapest one is the R3 Pro from viltrox. It was off the market for a while but its available again. It's the cheapest but not cheap. I think it's about $325

For casual recording yes. If it's for a business I would opt for the R7 instead.
Also which lut pack should I buy if I have hdrpq or normal standard colour profiles from the r50??
Any of the Luts will work nicely with the standard and hdrpq profiles.

Yes it can do the job. I would suggest a tripod. This will help with rolling shutter which is a common trait in these more entry level cameras.
The link to the adapter is wrong. It didn’t fit my R50 … it was too small.
The adapter is the Meike EFT-R adapter. If you are in a different country than the US sometimes it will show you a different product if they are out of stock. If you are in the US then maybe they sent the wrong product to you.

It works but won't show battery %. So might be worth it to get the original.
So you can use the drop-in, to convert RF to EF and have filters, but then the RF lenses won't be able to be used with the filters, on the old EF's, correct?
Yes RF lenses will not work with the adapter/filters only EF & Ef-s
I would love to get a sigma lense but as a hobbyists its not in my budget. Is there a more budget friendly lense that you would recommend
The RF 16mm f2.8, The RF 50mm f1.8 and the RF 35mm f1.8 - all great lenses by Canon.
Does the "Meike EFT-R ND Adapter" remove autofocus and all the smart functions of the Canon r50? I saw a video called "Watch this before buying your Canon r50." He said other lenses outside of the RF mount would remove some smart functions that the Canon camera has. I don't know if this is correct or if the adapter "fixes" the issue... I'm new to all this haha
I haven't had any AF issues using the adapter.
I bought the drop in ND filter from the link and it won’t get out of manual mode on my R50. Anyway to fix this?
Something is wrong because it should behave as normal. I'll let you know if I find any info
@@FulaanCreative The connectors to the 10-22 I just bought are bad. When the filter is attached without it it is fine and when I go to attach the lens it doesn't give error until the connectors touch. I purchased the native Canon RF-S10-18mm and will rock that for now. If there is a drop in ND filter set for RF-RF that would be awesome

Yep and the AF is flawless.
Nice video! Though, having owned the R50 and then returning it after 2 months, I'd argue that the best accessory for the R50 is... getting rid of it, and upgrading to either the R10, R7, or even better, R8. And then getting accessories.
The R50 is a Canon Crippled (TM) Camera: only one wheel, and you can't customise the top right-hand side buttons on the back of the camera! And those that you can customise, it's very limited compared to the R10. Also, you cannot default the d-pad buttons to directly selecting focus points (as you can in the R10, or any other Canon camera).
It's back buttons and d-pad are also extremely small and very tightly packed.
Let's not mention the digital only hot-shoe, requiring a $50 adapter to use a normal flash on it...
It's a very capable and responsive camera, with great AF, for the beginners, but only for those that really can't buy an R10, R7, or R8.

No it will only work with EF lenses

i’ve seen alot of people choosing the zv e10 over the r50 because of the lens collection but can’t we just use and adapter ? or theres a negative side to them? i didn’t find any info about canon letting 3d party lenses companies join
Supposedly they let Sigma make lenses. Maybe it was just a rumor though. Lets see. I prefer using EF lenses. That way I get built in ND's with the adapter. Some people don't like it due to EF lenses being older and heavier than modern mirrorless lenses. For me there's no negatives but for some there might be.

@@user-zc9tl8bz3h In the case of EF lenses it doesn't. Canon themselves have advocated using EF lenses as tey know they don't have enough RF and RF lenses. Some of the RF cameras come with an EF adapter.

Hi, I’m looking to buy a good camera that can shoot high quality videos. I’m looking to take it to my lacrosse tournaments and film the games, it would need to last 3-4 hours at least to capture all the games. I wouldn’t like to go over $1000. Can you give me some recommendations on what to buy?
The Sony ZVE-10 connected to external battery would probably be your best choice.

Most the photographers reviews here have mentioned the battery on the r50 has taken them through a full days shoot. So this whole video starts off kind of dubious. I mean still good tip to have spares, but check the claims.
For photos it may be fine but quite week for video.

Very disappointed in this video and misleading information, you cost me a fortune of ordering a adapter you claimed is compatible with the canon R50 I ordered your Amazon link in description of the mk3 eos, only to receive its EFS to EF compatible canon r50 is RF mounts not EF. Why are you telling your audience to check your links with false adapters that don’t work?
All the links in the description point to the Meike EFT-R Adapter which is for using EF & EF-S lenses on RF mount Cameras. The only reason I can think of that amazon would show you a different adapter is if you are in a country where the product I linked to is not available. In those instances Amazon may show you a similar product instead of the one I linked to. Even then the description of the product should clearly state which Mount and which lenses the adapter is intended for. Although I sympathise with your situation it is not because I placed any wrong links. Hopefully you can return it and get your money back.
