John Paul Jones gettin’ it on that breakdown! That man was Zep’s secret weapon.
Totally agree.
The underrated member. Really one of the most underrated musicians in Rock history.
@@michaelblaydes6037 he put on a damn clinic in Physical Graffiti.
Agreed
John Paul Jones is utterly brilliant and allowed the other three to shine while he held down the fort! LZ would never have been as great as it was without him.
John Paul Jones is the least talked about member of Led Zeppelin but he is a phenomenal bass player and keyboard player.
Every Great team has that "glue" guy that brings it all together :-)
He was a major part of their creative and studio production,in addition to his masterful playing...
@@thatmanstumototours2270 yep, he sure was. I've always called him he Led Zeppelin 's secret weapon
JPJ the silent assassin killing it!!!🔥🔥🔥
You're right, they're ALL dope... TOGETHER.... there's no need to single anyone out....The magic is in Zeppelin as a WHOLE. They said it themselves after Bonham died. Said, they weren't Led Zeppelin without John... PERIOD. That's why they disbanded instead of replacing him. One of a kind, never to be replicated, EVER. The appreciation you have for the music is infectious! Rock on brother....
They didnt actually "disband", they wrote an open letter (really Plant) that said "we cant continue as we were without Jon", but he later said that didnt mean they shouldnt continue. For the most part they never really got along (page and plant), but the music was too good
John Paul Jones is just flat out dirty on this track. For me one of the all-time great bass performances in rock, and this track one of the all-time rock tunes as it shows the progression from blues to rock.
For me, this song defines Zeppelin. My favorite.
agree
WooHoo!! Watching now. John Paul Jones lays down possibly the best bass line EVER!
He was killing that Base
@@watchbizmatik His bassline was improvised on the spot
The fast part of the song is what they used to call a "rave up" where they'd speed up and go crazy; it was meant to get the crowd up and moving after a bit of blues jam. Led Zeppelin was a group of master musicians, pure and simple.
You know you're loving Zep when there's a need to go back and listen to it again.
Watching you hear this puts the biggest smile on my face
I can’t
😁😁
Keep this Led Zeppelin journey going!!
Will do
Elevated blues man. Led Zepp and The Allman Bros were great at it.
John Paul Jones was a master on the bass!
Squeezing lemons 😂. We are enjoying this immensely!
😂🤘🏿🤘🏿🙌🏾
On your first pause where you're talking about the drums and bass, I'm just thinking "Brother, you ain't seen nothin' yet!"
These lyrics though....🥵
"Squeeze me, babe, 'till the juice runs down my leg
Do, squeeze, squeeze me, baby, until the juice runs down my leg
The way you squeeze my lemon-a
I'm gonna fall right outta bed, 'ed, 'ed, bed, yeah"
🔥🔥🔥👍😎
🙃 hell I'm listening to that bass and drum and guitar
The lyrics though.... "Juicy".... Sorry, I had to say it!!!! :)
Fucking lit .....these guys were the shit 🤘
Lyrics are wild I love it
I told you so
Love the reaction
🙌🏾🤘🏿
Today I just bought (itunes) Kashmir & stairway to heaven Live , oh my my the sound the power... plus Bring on home live is super bad azz! Born in 62 Today I'm still obsessed with the goat zeppelin!!
We will follow you all the way to the final song on the final Zeppelin album!
Each band member was stellar on this song
Zeppelin is the only band which every album sounds completely different from each other and was excellent. Not only that but each one sold millions. No other band has done that! Talk about creativy, and genius chemistry!
Jimmy didn't lose his mind, he blew YOUR mind!
Hahaha true
As awesome as Page, Plant and Bonham are in this song, Jonesy absolutely kills it. Kills it.
If you Love The Mighty Led Zeppelin! Then Your a LED HEAD!! If Someone has a Problem with THAT!! Than that's Their Problem! Another Great Reaction Bro!! Like Always, All the members of Zeppelin Showed up, but This tune seemed to High light John Paul Jones CUTTIN UP on That Bass!!

My name is Catman, and I am..."sniff"....

Respect for not skipping tracks!!!
Yes sir
Cover of the old blues from the 30’s
Like nobody else could do it❗️
Loving the Zepp journey...I'm with ya...
🙌🏾🙌🏾
my favorite part is that there is 2 songs in this song and they shouldnt fit together as well as they do but jimmy makes it happen seriously legendary producer
From my love of Led Zeppelin came the curiousity about what inspired them which "Led" me to explore the old blues legends that inspired them & they way they re-wrote their songs like this , which is a rebuild on the blues song "Killing Floor" .
One my first albums in 1970. Made me realize what they meant when they said rock was based on the blues. Also took a while to not be a teenager and only hear the "lemon" and "juice" parts and realize the levels and levels of awesomeness this song contains
They are magic, they don't have any bad songs.
Started listening to these guys when I was 11. ALL their songs are dope.
Oh yea, great reaction, bro. Love how much you get off on Zep. You really seem to get them. Cheers from Canada
You're right, not everybody is a "Led Head", but you can bit that l'm the biggest "Led Head " around, since I was 15yrs old l've been listening to their music and went to sooo many of their concerts that l've lost count 🤟😜
As soon as I get up in the morning I check to see if you've posted another one
So glad you're doing this I love this song too!
Your reaction is so RAW so BEAUTIFUL........LOVE ZEPPELIN MAN🤪
Thank you
I should have quit you a long time ago
Ooh-whoa, yeah, yeah, long time ago
I wouldn't be here, my children
Down on this killin' floor
I should have listened, baby, a-to my second mind
Oh, I should have listened, baby, to my second mind
Everytime I go away and leave ya, darlin'
A-send me the blues, rain down the line, no
Hey, yeah-yeah-yeah, keep up, yeah, oh, yeah
Babe-yeahh, yeah, treat me right, baby
Ooh-whoa, whoa-whoa, my, my, my, my-hah
Now take it down a little bit
People tell me baby can't be satisfied-a
Try to worry me, b-ba-baby
But I never did end up guit-chewin' myself
People worry, baby, can't keep you satisfied
Huh, let me tall ya, babe
Ah, you ain't nothin' but a nn-two-bit, no-good jive
I went to sleep last night, I work as hard as I can-a
I bring home my money, you take my money, give it to another man
I should have quite you, baby
Oh, such a long time ago-ho
I wouldn't be hear with all my troubles
Down on this killin' floor
Squeeze me, babe, 'till the juice runs down my leg
Do, squeeze, squeeze me, baby, until the juice runs down my leg
The way you squeeze my lemon-a
I'm gonna fall right outta bed, 'ed, 'ed, bed, yeah
Yeah
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Juice, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Hey, babe, babe, babe, babe, oh, no
No, no, now, now
I'm gonna leave my children down on this killing floor
I am a bass player, and this song has always been one of my favorites and inspirations. This whole song is a long bass solo. I have tried, but never came even close to playing this one.
The presence album is one of Led Zeppelin’s most under rated albums I think! I love that album!!
Love your Led reacts man, keep me comin
Thanks and more is on the way
I'm not sure who wrote this song but it's a black blues artist from the 40s. All the British bands the who, The rolling stones, the Beatles, They all grewo up on American Black blues artists. That's what made them wanna come to America... Love watching you dig there music.
Loved your reaction Biz.
So glad you're doing Zeppelin in order. The way you should. Your journey will mirror they're journey. They evolved as a band and you'll be able to hear all of it. Peace
What up Biz just doing a revisit on this reaction cuz you and Zeppelin are awesome 💯😎
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS WATCH....THANKS SO MUCH AND I WISH YOU A GREAT NEW YEAR!
Have a great new year 🙌🏿🙌🏿
For many years now, when I practice my guitar, the first thing I play to warm up is THIS SONG. I LOVE IT>
Hey bro you were talking about grunge in your livestream so I'm just gonna leave you with this. Love,Hate,Love (live) by Alice in Chains. It should be the second result when you search for it uploaded 14 years ago. One of the best grunge songs ever performed.
They are just as good live
They were BETTER live!
Loving your reactions! 😁
John Paul Jones + John Bonham = 🔥🐐🙌🏼
Excellent reaction as always. It's so cool watching you connect to something so wonderful as this song.
Zeppelin One of the greatest bands that came together in the 70s . Their musicianship is remarkable and incredible. You have only just begun to scratch the surface of this genre. I came of age in this era and was so fortunate to actually see these bands live. We unfortunately will never see the likes of these great artists again playing in front of thousands all packed together in a appreciative crowd of Rock and Rollers. That being said, you can actually experience one of the great bands of the era The Who live at Shepperton Studios live in HD ua-cam.com/video/UDfAdHBtK_Q/v-deo.html This what they were like when i saw them in Miami I just wish I was this close to them at that time. They to are incredible and knowing how much you appreciate music this is a must see for you. You will be wanting more. Rock on brother keep rock alive
Carry on man. Making me joyful to see your discovery. Good ain't it.
except for Prince, i don't know what other group/artist can pull off so many different styles. oh wait, Queen. these three are in my personal top 5.
The Rolling Stones played reggae, blues, pop, and even a little rap...etc...
Love your enthusiasm!
(Lemon Song is the shit)❤
This is one of my favorite Zep songs because of JP's bass thumping.
this song was a forum for the sheer genius of John Paul Jones
WOW just Subscribed to you after hearing your reaction on How Many More Times!! You're already on II!! Guess you already did the Immigrant Song so gotta look it up BUT NOW You're about to react to my Favorite song off this album which is neck and neck with the Immigrant Song!! Just Know you're about to Thoroughly enjoy this one so no other response necessary despite not watching this Yet!!
Got dat funk face. Love it. New sub.
That was so sick !!
I saw them do this when I was 17. Couldn’t believe my ears.
So great I've seen Robert Plant after Zep broke up with the Honey drippers 🤘
I LOVE this song... but I'm not real clear on how you feel about it, Biz... 😉🎶👍
The song is Insane
So interesting. Thanks for this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
okay okay, I'll subscribe.
😂😂😂 thanks 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Yes I love it , its hott , you rule my guy Biz , lol
You get it!
funny story...in the "way back" my momma came home to hear this playing (loudly). needless to say but I nearly didn't survive and the 8 track did not LOL! Go ahead, some of us were Led Heads, long before YT was even a thought in someone's head.
This joint is a great reminder of how much Zep influenced others, bunch of Bonham’s work in this one & When The Levee Breaks is sampled by the Beastie Boys, I swear I hear Carlos Santana I some of the guitar licks in No Quarter, Zep was so influential.
11:11 As we used to say..."don't quit your day job just yet."
LOL
Great song - reaction
How can no one hear the blues inspiration not only on this song but many
I wonder how many people heard the drums on this track and said "yeah...I wanna do that too" and went out and picked up some sticks and a kit?
This is probably my favorite from the best band ever!
Squeeze My Lemon till the juice runs down my leg
My son worked for months to kill this on bass. John Paul Jones 💥
The whole song is basically a bass solo.
Classic Robert Plant! 😂
JPJ was influenced by Motown's James Jamerson in his formative years. Lemon Song is a great example of that (as is Carouselambra later on). I learned this bass line in high school and it took me a full week of March break and picking up the needle on the record countless times. Learned a lot about funky blues bass lines from it!
"The Killing Floor" in another world. Love the version by Albert King.
In case you're curious, many aspects of this song were straight ripped off from earlier blues tunes ("Killing Floor" by Howlin' Wolf and "Traveling Riverside Blues" by Robert Johnson).
It's a good song, but I think it's important to remember that early Zep downright plagiarized a good deal of their tunes, and unlike their cover of "When the Levee Breaks" they didn't really add that much to some of their blues covers.
It's also important to remember where this all came from.
Baddest band ever!!!
awesome cover of Killing Floor by Howlin Wolf
Killin’ Floor Willie Dixon song.
Agreed... JPJ OWNS this song! Some of the best bass riffs ever recorded.....
That's the one
Killing Floor is a blues staple covered by everyone with a guitar or a growl...
The 4 symbols on zepplin 2 represent each member ,each picked a symbol
I always wondered what those symbols stand for
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the symbols are not on Zep 2 they're on Zep 4.... 🧐
Notice how John Paul Jones changes his timing? Jimmy Page has to keep up with him!
I dont know what he (Jimmy Page) smoke that day.. Go listen to Heartbreaker too, he played crazy solo too there
The song from which LZ ripped off (without initially giving credits!) is Killing Floor by the one and only Howling Wolf.
You say ripping off but it’s basically tradition in blues to borrow bits and pieces from other songs, it was mainly critics that cared
@@JackJack-rx9em Agree, if credit is given when due. In this case and like others with LZ, it unfortunately wasn’t until they lost a lawsuit in the early 70s, and subsequent releases credit to H. Wolf… Love this band though.
If you like Led Zeppelin you should give a listen to Greta Van Fleet, its like a new age Zeppelin. They have great music
Listen to Howlin Wolf's 'Killing Floor' song, let's give credit where credit is due. LZ did give him credit after a lawsuit was filed.
You just got to be the negative vibe to the group don't you... Good job
@@ericklein5927 the fact that you believe acknowledging artists that influenced Led Zep is negative says more about you than me. I'm a big fan of Led Zep AND Howlin Wolf.
I'm Gonna Crawl
