      I'm going to second this.
We (my family) have a Flowbee and we've been using it happily for decades. We got our first at the L.A. County Fair, back when they were new and that was the only place they were selling them.
(We recently got the add-on vac. It is LOUD AF. Use a small shop-vac.)
The BIGGEST MISTAKE was trying to cut that mannequin cheap nylon fake-hair wig. It's PLASTIC.
If he wasn't such a coward, he would have cut his own hair with it and it would have come out great.
      Sigh.

    • @joziesundstrom7660

@@OhPervyOne Actually his mannequins all have fully real hair I think? I know in a lot of his videos he has stated that the mannequin has real human hair, just like the ones in hair school. • @OhPervyOne
      @OhPervyOne 2 роки тому +3

@@joziesundstrom7660 I don't think THIS one is real. That may be true for the majority of his videos, but I suspect he wasn't taking this one seriously and he didn't want to "waste" a valuable real hair wig on something he "already knows" (believes) is a scam product.
      I can attest:
I have been using my Flowbee for close to three decades and only in the beginning did I ever have blade-jams - nothing like this video - and I learned quickly how to avoid them. The Flowbee works.
What he really should do is follow up this video with someone who has experience with the product and demonstrate how it works, properly. Either have that person cut their own hair OR have them cut his hair after he lets it grow out for the video. That demonstration doesn't have to involve cutting a lot of hair, nor cutting it extremely short, as long as it's enough to really show that it does the job.
      Yes, it is loud.
But being a scaredy-cat because Mommy is vacuuming the floor is NOT respectable and he does serious disservice to a good product in this video. This is Slander.
I don't mean to jump down your throat with this comment. It's just that I do NOT respect him after doing this... at least as long as he fails to do a serious follow-up.
His OTHER videos might be respectable, but this one ISN'T.

The Flowbee is awesome! When taking the time to learn how to use it and its attachments (about 15 minutes), and understanding basic haircutting concepts, you can cut hair in almost any way you want. It doesn't matter if you want to just trim very long hair or give yourself (or someone you know) a very cool short haircut, or anything in between, the Flowbee will do it. One of the things I really appreciate about it is that I don't have to nervously go to a haircutter anymore, hoping she/ he is in the proper mood to give me the balanced haircut that I want. Since using the Flowbee (the first time didn't go so well because I made the cut too short), from the 2nd attempt onward, I finally am able to get the nicely balanced, evenly layered, haircut that I have always tried to get a haircutter to do. I have medium length (a bit below the shoulders), slightly wavy hair, and it works great. But it doesn't matter what type of hair one has, the Flowbee is wonderful if you want consistent haircuts. I love this little machine! And I am saving so much money by just doing it myself! There are plenty of them on eBay.There's nothing like being independent and achieving great haircuts just like to want them!

I just ordered a Flow Bee from their website with their vacuum cleaner and with shipping it was $219. Everyone always thinks of Amazon and forgets that the manufacturers sometimes have a website. Looks like the key to using this is a very strong vacuum cleaner. With my husband and three sons, I really hope this works out for us. Great video Brad! You're so real!!

I paid $145 for ours back in 2002 (bought the vacuum with it) and it just finally shorted out last year. I only had boys and this worked perfect - taking my youngest for a hair cut was always a fight. We saved a lot of time not having to go to the barber, and saved a lot of money over the 20 years of use.

I actually have a vacuum cleaner that's about 30 years old, and I only use about 15% of the power that thing has. It's never been broken. I "stole" it when I moved out, I lived in our attic and when mom wanted a new vacuum, she gave the old one to me so I didn't need to carry it up the strairs anymore. She's had three vacuums since that, the new ones at some point lost suction power or just broke.
There actually is some part that's not where it's supposed to be, when I lift it up I can hear a metallic "cling". Doesn't seem to bother it though :D

My dad has used one of those pretty much my whole life. I'm 31. He swears by his flowbee. Except his usually only cost like $30 I think (he's bought several over the years.)
We always knew if dad grabbed the vaccuum it meant he was cutting his hair. He was also the only grown man I knew growing up that always styled his hair right out the shower and ALWAYS used a blow dryer for styling.

George Clooney said he use to use a flower to cut his hair. Even back in the day " As seen on Tv" had weird products. I swear it use to come with the vaccum though in the 90's and it was yellow and looked like kinda like a bee.

Old fart boomer here: when this thing was being advertised every 3 minutes on television, they specifically said that it worked best with a canister vacuum because they had more suction power. You are supposed to attach they vacuum hose to the vacuum's accessory hose.

My ex mother in law has one of these and uses it on herself, her husband and two sons. So yes, my ex-husband grew up getting regular cuts with these. I was mortified the first time I went to their place when it was hair cutting day. Needless to say, the day I had him go to a real salon for a haircut he was so happy with the experience and never let his mother butcher his hair again...

You mean the awesome quiet cordless vacuums we use on our hard floors aren't as strong as the massive heavy contraptions our parents and grandparents used to suck crumbs and pet hair out of their plush shag carpeting in the 70s and 80s? *gasp* hahaha!! You'd almost have to use a shop vac at this point, I'd think.
