I've been cutting my hair since 1985 using the flowbee & I love it. As you may have discovered by now, you need to use an up & down motion, to cut the hair properly. With practice, you will feel more comfortable & your cuts will look like a pro. I have had many compliments on my hair. So good luck & keep cutting. :)

I bought the exact same FlowBee you have around 35 years ago after suffering many bad haircuts over the years from professionals who seemed intent on scalping me - lol. Anyway loved your video and your calm demeanor. It will get easier in the future to use as you realize you are in charge of your hair destiny with this clever device - good investment.. I paid around $40 dollars for mine. Now they cost 4 times that because that's the way the world works.... but over these 35 years I calculate I've saved at least $4200 in barber butchery. Thanks for the video post!

You have to bounce it up and down

I can’t wait to get my own Flowbee and have my Sister’s boyfriend give me a haircut! I think the pecking Motion is the way to go! And, I think I’ll use a Shop Vac with mine!

Yes, it will definitely be easier with somebody to help. Especially to get the back of your head. The pecking motion is recommended, but I hadn't quite mastered that in this video yet.

Just got mine. Thanks for the helpful video. Wish me luck.

Hope your cut went well. I'm on my third cut now, and I'm finding it difficult to cut the back of my head by myself. Otherwise, I'm still satisfied.

Hmm! 🤔! Seen other videos... Isn’t it supposed to be an Up & Down movement? not a comb through? I can’t wait to get mine!...

Yes, but the video was more showing a first time user and not an instruction guide. I have fun as I use it more I get in the habit of doing the up-and-down motion. But that was the first time I was using it.

Great video! Early on, during the TP apocalypse, I started looking at FlowBees, but didn’t act fast enough. They sold out everywhere the first few days of lockdown, so I bought the AirCut. It’s the same concept, except it’s shaped like a hairdryer, and it sucks rather than blows. I did my first about 4 weeks ago - it took just about as long as it took you to figure the pieces out, which lengths, get the hang of holding. I did find that bouncing it up and down while cutting somehow sucks the hair into the blades more evenly. Thanks for making the video - I think it’s a very realistic view of what to expect. If I get better at it, I might continue cutting my own hair. As it stands at the moment, I’m really missing my stylist.

Thanks. You might have fared better, as that's a newer product, and you don't have to connect a vacuum. It also looks like you paid about the same price.

Thanks for the video. I purchased my Flowbee for the same reason you did - COVID. I just placed my order, so I'm still waiting for delivery. I'm trying to get as much info as I can before it arrives, and your video was very helpful. Stay safe... and THANKS! (PS - I decided to order the unit with the vacuum.)

Thanks..I wonder if they’re sold out because George Clooney just said in an interview that he uses one.

There is also the Robocut, very similar to the Flowbee. I bought mine 4 years ago and only used it twice. I have longish hair but it sometime gets way too long and looks scary. The robocut nicely got it looking much better. It's at haircut dot com. It was $75 when I bought it, they are $129 now.

You did a good job, John.
Are you still using your Flowbee?
I've seen nothing but very positive reviews.
Thanks for the demo, take care...

Thanks, Dave. I only use it occasionally. The challenge is getting the back of my hair right. It's hard to hold the mirror in such a way that I can see what I'm doing.
