Shannon, taking a Saturday to do nothing but crochet sounds like heaven!!! I can't believe you are up in Iowa. I live in the Kansas City area. We lived, years ago, for 4 years in Cedar Rapids. I love your shawl and love the Stevi Nicks vibe. This shawl is great!!! I always enjoy your videos, and this is another favorite.
Your footage twirling and modeling is breathtaking. The shawl is gorgeous and so gorgeous on you!! Love the tweed! I am more than likely going to make this! You have made me want one myself. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! ❤❤
Love the Shawligan! I'm really enjoying your channel content. You're down to earth and authentic . Wishing you great success! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎄🎅⛄
That shawl is absolutely beautiful!! ❤ Followed your link and bought the Hayride yarn - on sale! Can't wait to get it and start on my autumn shawl!! Thank you!! ❤
Love the shawl! Small world as I was finishing up a project knit with Pumpkin Bread Brava Tweed while watching this video. It's the 1st time I've used Brava Tweed, but I love plain Brava, use it frequently, and always toss it into the washing machine and dryer with no issues - fyi. Normally I'm a knitter, but I love this shawl so much I may have to become a crocheter.
I’m Lydia and have been crocheting for like eighteen years, I make and sell I love what I do I also like to create my own patterns , always up to learn new ways to make that happen.
Hi! I'm Hope of Lopeylot Loops Crochet and Handmade. The shawl is absolutely gorgeous, and the hat makes the whole outfit epic! Thank you for the short people tip. I'm 5'1". So, that's helpful. 😉
I am so in love with this shawl, thank you so much for sharing. I try not to rush off to buy copy-cat yarn that someone else used but your color choices are gorgeous, I'm tempted to hop on over to purchase some brava tweed. Thanks again!
The hat and modeling of the project was great. Very cute!! I'm tempted because I've been joining a hexagon blanket for my friend and trying so hard to focus and finish it for her. I also REALLY want to make a sweater but this would be fun and quick. OK, I'm pondering it because I have a whole lot of mandala in fall colors that I could use.
mandala does have some really pretty fall colors!!! I think it's a 3 weight, so if it were me, I might hold two strands together to make it go faster!!! Send me a pic if you make it!
Beautiful shawl and such a fun photo shoot, you look like you really had fun doing it. What a beautiful backdrop. The woman that lets me sell my crochet makes there (for free, she will be charging a 15% fee to cover her website page once up and ready, but with saying alllll that lol, she is originally from Iowa. I never realized how beautiful the land is. But anyhoo, thanks for sharing, you look maaaavaous🦋🧶
Fun shawl made more fun with your rock and roll video and that fabulous hat! I have used City Tweed DK yarn from We Crochet and love it, but the balls are small, more yardage with Brava. I just love tweed! You did Stevie proud!🥳
I like that shawl. It turned out beautifully. I might just make it., too. As a rule, I finish one project at a time and I’m working on a Christmas afghan right now. But, Fall comes before Christmas, right? Lol 😆
I laughed when you said about the yarn that you were 'pleasantly s... pleased'. I don't know why it's funny, you were just choosing your words carefully!
Shannon, I have finally cleared the decks enough to start this project and I’m so excited. I’ve bought the exact yarns, but I’m a bit confused about quantity. The Boysenberry seems to be the biggest portion of the shawl, Pumpkin Bread next, and Goldenrod the least amount of rows. So how come you had the most left of the Boysenberry and so on? 🧐 xx
Hi Wendy! Yay I'm glad you're going to try it out! The best way to explain it, is that it's kind of an optical illusion. Because the boysenberry is compressed in a smaller area, where the rows are much shorter, it appears that there is more of it. As the shawl gets bigger/wider the rows are so much longer they use much more yarn, even tho it looks like less. I hope that makes sence, it's kind of hard to explain!
Shannon, the top edge is curving up at the corners a bit like horns or angel wings. I’ve had this happen before. Have you? Is it tight tension and can I fix it by adding some double and trebles to the border? ❤
Mine is like that too, that's a TOTALLY accurate description lol! For me I don't really mind, but I think you could totally "eyeball" it while doing a boarder to even it out! Sorry this took me so long to see, you can always email me if you want!
I typed a big long reply to this and it disappeared!! I have no idea where it went lol. mI think a 5 weight would be great too! A 6 weight might be heavy but also pretty cool. I would keep increasing the size of your hook if you go up in yarn size so it can still be drapey!
You're shawligan is beautiful and you look beautiful in it.
Thank you so much 😊

I actually would have called it shlanket.
I like that too!! 😀
Can I use a chunky yarn Shannon?
