I only gift knit every second year because it would be too time consuming to do otherwise. I just knit socks, mitts, hats etc and label them with content, care instructions. Then I put them into a fancy box and everyone tries things on and claim what they like. My sister’s family loves the excitement of ooohing and ahhhing over all the knitting.
I love the idea of gift knitting every second year, it does become very time consuming when doing it every year! I also love that you make a bunch of stuff and people pick out what they like, what a great idea ❤️🧶❤️
Just to say I would love to knit the floriculture cowl and it is very generous of you to say you're considering offering the pattern for free. Please count me in. Loved your podcast. 😊
Your socks are awesome, I especially like the green ones you are currently working on. Your hand dyed yarn looks amazing. Another great pattern for kids sweaters is the Flax sweater from Tin Can Knits and with their app putting in all the right stitch counts for you, its very quick.
I am so happy to discover your channel! UA-cam is a funny thing. You have 46 episodes and your channel has never been suggested to me. You have such a nice esthetic. I love your projects and color choices. Very calming.
That cowl is beautiful and NO, it just isn't a simple pattern. Whether or not it has increases, decreases, intricate or not, it looks difficult, it looks beautiful and your color choices are superb. Please send me the pattern. I would pay you for this pattern. Your knit definition is even in your socks, Andrew's sweater and that makes you an expert. I think you're a perfectionist and it shows. I'm glad I found you. Hope to see more of you. Ms. Jo
Awe thank you so much!! The pattern will be available shortly and I will announce on my next video when it is up and ready to be downloaded ❤️ Thank you!! 🧶❤️🧶
Hi! I like the Crazy for Ewe podcast. She always say that superwash garments need to go to the dryer to recover the shape. She is a yarn shop owner and knows a lot about yarn.
I really enjoyed watching your podcast and you’re Knitting. That is great. I am finishing my very first sock pattern and I do have Summer Lee’s yearly monthly color work that I will be doing with a group starting 1 January we’re going to go through the book, we have 12 patterns that we’re gonna do out of her book, so that’ll be fun so I’m just trying to finish my every new part that I’m learning. It always scares me and I just have to plow through.
Your cowl is so pretty, I love your design. And, as always, I love seeing your natural hand dyed yarn. It is fun to hear what you used to dye them and see how it came out. That speckled one is amazing! Yes to gift knitting! As a knitter I think it is a wonderful way to show my love for the recipient ❤️
Hi Karlie! Your floriculture cowl looks amazing! The flax sweater (free pattern) is an easy knit for kids, and you can add broken rib if you want some texture. Thanks for another great video! 😘
Absolutely love your cowl and would very much appreciate having your pattern. Also enjoyed your podcasts that I stumbled upon so I’m going to go back to watch your other podcasts. Kathy from Massachusetts ❤
Hi Karlie, what I usually (used to) do with industrial knitwear or crochet pieces bought in a shop is handwash them and than put them into a thick (molton we call them) pillow case that you tie with a cord or a shoe lace and then put it in the washing machine to spincycle it, on 800 or a maximum of 1200. Then lay it out flat to dry further. The pillow case prevents pilling. This has always worked for these kind of garments, they come out nearly dry and are not so heavy anymore. Beautiful piece in a beautiful colour! 🐏💕
Love your Lily vest, great color, green sage is my favorite! How did you modify it not to be so ...large in the back, for lack of a better word? And did you use an iCord finish for the sleeve gaps? I also love the original design :) and I think I would go for that one in a linen yarn.
Thank you! I used juniper moons Zooey yarn which is more of a DK than a worsted which is what is called for - I also went down a full mm in needle size to get a smaller gauge. I didn’t do any icord finishing, I just seemed the sides a little higher for a tighter armhole ☺️🧶❤️
I have a suggestion for you, but I'm a new knitter so take my suggestion with a grain of salt, lol. This is for the Odette cardigan using the Noro yarn. You said you were going to crop the sweater and your concern was the placement of the buttons and their corresponding button holes. Go into your closet, pick out your favorite sweater, take the measurement lengthwise, measure that sweaters button hole placement and viola'! This just might work. Let me know what you think one way or another. My suggestion was simplistic, but its worth a shot. Ms. Jo
I really enjoyed your video. You seem to knit really fast. It looks like English-style knitting but I don't see you letting go of the needle to wrap the yarn. I would love to knit as fast as you
Thank you! Yes, I knit English style but I wrap the yarn around my right pointer finger two times and flick my finger around the needle so I never have to let go of my yarn or the needles, I find this speeds up the process a lot for me! ❤️🧶☺️
I’m interested in your cowl pattern. I like your edging and am not sure how it is done. I think I would like the design more in low contrasting colours. Thank you!
I think a low contrast one would be so pretty, I’m planning on doing that next ☺️ the edging is very simple - pattern should be out within a week or so ☺️
Thank you so much for all the good tips - would you please consider going over EXACTLY what needles you use and length etc for the socks and how you would start as a beginner sock knitter. I have a challenge finding the right circular needles as I find double pointed needles incredibly SLOW. Also what pattern would you recommend for the FIRST SOCK ever, thanks Georgia inBC
You’re welcome! I use 2.25mm chiagoo 32inch needles to work socks on magic loop and that works really well for me. My first ever sock was the DK vanilla socks pattern by the Crazy sock lady and I think that is a great place to start for sock knitting! She has many tutorials on UA-cam for her vanilla sock patterns and I found it was nice starting with DK weight - hope this helps ☺️
nice episode! The advent calender you mention, was it a 2023 one or this year's? Even if it's the one from last year, could you give me the details. I would like to look it up. The theme "a day in the museum in Japan" really sounds interesting.
Thank you! It’s from last year, but she’s releasing a collection in the next couple days based off of “Day at the Museum” so definitely check out Big little yarn co - the colours of this collection are amazing!
I'm very interested in how the sweater for your boyfriend does over time. I would like to make a sweater in marino for the softness but am worried that it won't ware well over time
I buy them wholesale from a yarn supplier as I’m preparing to sell my dyed yarn in the future! I haven’t been able to find any natural socks in yarn stores though unfortunately
I have a jersey in superwash corriedale and it doesnt really grow too much - but it is a rougher wool (?) recommended for colourwork. It always goes back to to shape when I wash it in the machine. I do lay it flat to dry though - we hardly use our drier. I haven't used super wash merino yet. The Northland might need to go on the list for my partner!

Beautiful projects! Yes, I’d love to make a floriculture cowl! Thanks 😊

Thanks for the colorwork sock tip. When knitting the first one of these, I went up a needle size yet it still would not fit over heel.
I hope that helps if you decide to make another pair! ❤️🧶❤️

Your speckle yarn is so beautiful! I want some! Will you make a video on how to dye yarn from plants?
Thank you! I might make a video like that one day ☺️
Thanks for another lovely episode. I would love to knit the cowl! I would also be fine with paying for a pattern. I don't think it is that simple.
That’s great to hear! I would be happy to offer it for free 🧶❤️🧶
