Opinions. Everyone is entitled to it. Tool is my favorite band and I think the most unappreciated band and musically they are probably in my eye one of the greatest band of all times. I love those bands but I do think they were on another level with their sound during that time. They were like nothing else. I think you need to get real sir.
alice in chains with layne and early soundgarden (1990's) were animals live. best live bands (footage i have seen) i have seen, Rich Kids on LSD, and Bad Brains. Tool live is amazing. they are all great live bands. RATM obviously lol.
I guess it comes down to a matter of opinion and preference. RATM, Tool, and Bob Marley perform some of the greatest live performances in history in my opinion. But as for Alice in Chains and sound garden I listen to both, but I haven't heard any of there shit live. So when I get a chance I will definitely peep that, if you say they are on the same level as Tool live ? Do you have any links anywhere on UA-cam ? If so, hit me. I will definitely check that out.
No I wasn't high when I wrote that. rosetta stoned ? I heard the song but didn't really feel it like Aenima, or H, or the Grudge, or a number of other Tool tracks from the post 2001 era. I agree to an extent. There isn't a single band that comes close to Tool in the 90's, they were truly on a level of there own, they performed some of the greatest live performances of our time, but modern Tool is different. Maynard voice has faded and he lost interest in the band. He should have left the scene in 99' to preserve his legacy, they're still one of the greatest bands of our time, with the greatest drummer probably of all time, but they are nothing like what they were.

tool takes precedence but soundgarden is still enjoyable (at least the older stuff) imho.
