we all have our bad days. Even the man himself is allowed a train wreck or 2 on stage. they have had some pretty good ones, adam jones is the band owner and he's had some doozies. but the professionalism by these guys is what stands out here, to just keep the show going without skipping a beat is dedication to the craft. Best band of all time

Maynard is a human being and he makes mistakes. And art is inspired 90% by mistakes, things that happen almost randomly. He probably just got frustrated that he couldn't keep on character.

Just clear everything...he did not forget the lyrics...his voice clearly cracks, and if you noticed when he sing's "This body holding me, he stumbles and strangles (shaking) the mic, but he also hits the note with a vibrato, he needed a break, everybody gets pissed off and pulls fits because it builds up to a point where u gotta let it out, just saying, he cracked on 4 songs and was missing notes galore in stinkfist, he's cracked many times and only did this once by the way ;) Tool fuckin owns!

The rest of the band continued the song and went onto the next and towards the end maynard finally came back. Difficult pitch to hit even when your voice is well rested. I can't imagine how hard it is when you've been touring for awhile and your throat is raw. He has one of the best live voices I've ever heard, though. So many artists only sound good in the studio.

I remember seeing Bob Mould once playing a solo show and he had a new 12-string that just would not stay in tune no matter what he did. He finally threw it on the floor and walked off the stage. Mistakes and technical glitches are frustrating, and sometimes can bring out the passion.

Singing high notes that include the formant when you say the letter "e" is the hardest. It's a hard song to sing as well. Musicians go through the same thing every day. All good.

But when he was younger working at a pet store in L.A. and had a band and got his band signed and made all those albums and music that he's famous for, singing and tool and apc was his pursuit. sometims hapend. when you sing for 1 or 2 years in tour one night it happens. Dont forget maynard in early 92 with hush, cold and ugly etc..I love this voice. ist my voice in my ear
