Service First Delta Flag Pole Install

- Thought I would fill the video void with a backyard project I was working on this past week. I bought a Service First Delta 25' telescoping flag pole recently. Along with some other backyard configurations, that was part of it.
This is not a full install video, there are a lot of good ones out there, just hit the highlights and talked a bit. The whole they say to dig is 18'x18'x, since the soil here is pretty sandy I went big, and did about a 22x24. Put some drainage rock as a base layer and a drain grate on the bottom for the sleeve and the bottom of the flag pole to sit on so water could drain way.
Mrs. Rook helped me set the pole in the ground and get the flag on it. Very happy with the look and quality of the pole.

Looks good Tom! I have a 25 footer at the house too to go up in the backyard this spring that'll be pulling double duty as a mega Christmas light tree during the holidays! Have fun with the spring trip... I'm sitting at camp now... 60 and sunshine yesterday, snowing and blustery today. Gotta love north central PA weather.

Thanks, looks good, the Eagle for the top just arrive today. Will see what I can do for the field this year. Will do a few things in the old landing area, and on my trail during the Spring Trip. I have to talk with the people that rent the equipment up there in Mansfield. We do need to get some things done.

I did this and had to put long bolts through the bottom of the pole to give the cement something more to stick to.

Hey Tom, we have a flag pole in our back yard as well. We've had it about two years. The flag is a sewn canvas cloth. Holding up well, still looks brand new. Enjoy your spring trip to the cabin.

Today I thought about the chairman a lot. Mike is tough but I liked the care and gift you and Mrs gave. I just lost my younger cousin Sean ....it terrible but he never got over my uncle Jimmy's death when he was younger. He never took to drugs but drank and it 5ook him early it seems. So close attention to Mike. Its my prayer here in the war zone with my own dad. Plus ....listen. any young man would be blessed to call you dad. SEAN YOURS. He is spreading his wings. PA guy here. The fish commission stocks golden rainbows. (palomino/etc - variations of the same white/gold concept but technically different fish.). No special tactics to catch them than what you’d use on standard rainbows because they are rainbows themselves. The best advice is to fish for them asap after stocking, because just like regular fish they do eventually seem to smarten up after a few failed attempts to land them. That’s my understanding and experience. My greatest fishing story involves a 24” golden that was really too big for the stream it was put in. It was a ways back in a wooded section of creek, mid season, low fishing pressure. My dad and brother were with me but I was a hole ahead and stayed quiet after seeing a glowing monster in the water. After a few failed attempts to set the hook when I literally watched it take my bait, I finally hooked it. I yelled, they came over in time to see the fish jump several feet out of the water and smack back down loudly. I’ll never forget my dad’s dinner plate sized eyes connect with mine while saying nothing out loud. What could he say? 🤣. Have fun at camp thanks for the vids!
Thanks for the info, yes, I said Albino by mistake, we normally call them Palominos, but Golden is the correct term for them. Just got back from the trip last Monday, was pretty rainy there all week, but what can you do.

Just the small to medium walmart frozen shrimp.
Raw shrimp....A bag used to be like 5 or 6 bucks.

How is the flagpole holding up thinking about getting one ?
It is holding up great. My neighbor just put the Airforce version up a week ago. Kind of funny you asked. I just ordered another for the front yard. I will arrive tomorrow. Will put it in as soon as the heat drops a bit. As I mentioned in the video, the flag is a little disappointing, but a nice one can be had for under $15. So yes, happy enough to order another.
