This band is from my hometown! Steven Tyler actually has a house a couple towns over from me. You can often run into him while out at a supermarket, a county fair etc. He's very approachable, and always happy to pose for a selfie, or sign and autograph. For a rock legend, he's super down to earth, and nice guy. 😁
Steven Tyler was only 14 when he completed the composition of words and 17 or 18 when he wrote the rest....imagine writing "all these lines in my face getn clearer" when you had no lines in your face...
Aerosmith is such a legendary band that, they're the only band to have their own "Roller Coaster". It's at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. It's great ride too! 🤘😎🎸🎢
Most of the “artists” today get their stuff from rock bands of 70s and 80s. There are many videos of Aerosmith doing this song. I know they restrict what you can show but check it out live. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry will give your goosebumps, goosebumps! ❤️
I never considered myself a big Aerosmith fan, but this song is a giant, glaring exception to that. Beautiful, masterfully-crafted song that stands out among the all-time great rock songs.
I had so much fun watching your mind get blown, I had to kick on a fan to clear away the smoke! Aerosmith is... well as others here have already said, Legendary. Enjoy the ride!
Everyone always reacts to the same two Aerosmith songs-- this one and "Sweet Emotion." React to some of their bangers! "Train Kept A-Rollin'" will make you see Aerosmith in a whole different light.
Saw these guys 4 times in concert. Steven wrote that song he was only 19yrs old. I am in my sixties now the words get truer as time goes on. Believe me when I say you don't realize how fast it goes until you are at this end of the time line.
That is why your channel is so important to you and others who follow. You can't be stuck in one genre of music. There is so much out there to discover and you can miss so much.
Dream on is the song that made me an Aerosmith fan. Steven Tyler has a remarkable voice. He can sound so different in different songs. And joe Perry is an amazing guitarist.
Jayy, I am so happy you had the chance to experience and feel this AMAZING song!!! Dream On is still to this day one of my all-time favorite songs. 🎧🎶💜
Aerosmith has so many excellent songs, you try going down that rabbit hole. They were one of the first to collaborate with a rap group. Check out Walk this Way with Run DMC.
I have a fun fact for you my dear. Run DMC did a cover of the Aerosmith song and Aerosmith was performing in the studio next door so they actually played on the cover by Run DMC. And the official music video is fun too. Just something to ponder and Aerosmith has always been about collaboration and dealing with other artists. With the respect always to you. Brant Heavner😊😊😍
All Eminem did was triple the album sales that Aerosmith had for this same hook and melody, quadrupled the money Aerosmith made as well, that's all....it is what it is 🤷🏻♂️
Steven Tyler (singer) is such a wonderful front man. Do yourself a favor and watch one of their videos where they are preforming the song! Awesome group!
I've listened to a lot of reactions to this song, and Miss Jayy...yours is one of the best, as someone who is old enough to listen to it when it first came out in the early 70's. Bravo.
I’m gonna have to check and see if you did walk this Way which is a mash up of Aerosmith and run DMC on the Aerosmith song that came out in 1974 if you have I highly recommend going back and listening to the Aerosmith version if you haven’t it would be a good back to back reaction the original Aerosmith and then when they did it with run DMC in the 80s. I thought of that when you were talking about Eminem sampling this song and how different it sounds
When I was a kid I saw Aerosmith play at Darien lake. Steven Tyler announced eminem asked permission to use one of their songs. They played this song as their response
I went to many Areosmith Concerts in Philly back in the days when they 1st came out - first two, they walked off the stage due to a M-80 firework going off near Steven Tyler's head at the first one and then the second one was wiith a bottle thrown on stage broke and a piece of the bottle cut Steven's face - but when they came the next time to Philly they had a fine metal screen hung from above so nothing could make it to the stage and the band would be safe - sad they had to go thru it but then I seen them 4 more since and they ROCKED
One of my best friends in Gainesville FL was Tom Petty. Never a more down to earth guy and talked about everything.... Tom Petty had an interest into everyone's life, and he wrote about it.
Steven Tyler is a vocal legend! His pipes are just amazing you have so many songs to listen to. You should start with ragdoll and same old song and dance
I love your reaction to this so much, how wonderful! It was amazing to watch you find this song, it's one of the most iconic rock songs and one of my all time favorites. We who know these songs already love sharing them with new people
Back in the 90s I was working as an engineer at a Ritz Carlton they were staying at and I was called to their suite (2000 sq ft) for some electrical cords..they were having a small party.. they invited me to stay.....Oh God how I would have loved to have lost my job and stayed.. I was single and there were sooo many girls...... But I didn't...I was surprised at how friendly they were.. And short compared to me at 6'...Great Reaction.....Love me some Aerosmith
I just found out last night Eminem sampled this. I was checking out his stuff. Was news to me. I was 12yrs old when this came out. To show how this is. I'm 60yrs old now. Steven Tyler sounds the same if not better and looks pretty much the same too. It's unbelievable. The man is a walking breathing legend.. He is Truly Amazing! 🎶🎤🎶
@@docbearmb You can't say his overall is not the same. I meant his hair.. The way he dressed. You knew what I meant. He didn't find the fountain of youth lol but he doesn't look like he's in his 70's. I don't any men in their 70's. That look like that at all. Do you?
This music was written if not in your parents time, mostly your grandparents, so now you know why they hold the current so-called music elite to a higher standard than the modern kids do. The sound you mentioned was created by these artists, not the rappers that came up with the lyrics and the beats already established, and they tried to make it look it was theirs.
So if I recall he was less than twenty when he wrote these lyrics. Imagine that, feeling like life is passing him by. The music video is a collage of the life and times of the band, adds to the story. Everyone has covered this but I’d recommend a band called black top mojo.
Yeah, I think when rappers sample bits of songs, they kind of assume people will already know and recognize the songs they've sampled, making their own rap song more appealing, but they probably don't think about what happens when years pass and people are no longer familiar with the song they sampled but have only heard the rap sample of it. And yeah, seventies Aerosmith is really good. If you liked this 1973 song of theirs, you'll also like their 1975 "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way." "Walk This Way" was kind of their signature song back then.
Yes, Eminem used this song 🎧 for his Sing For The Moment! Aerosmith has some amazing songs!!🤟🤟🤟Aerosmith also had a song 🎶 called Walk This Way which they did a duet with Run DMC to Walk This Way, it was a mix with Rock/Rap!
😁 👋🏻 Hi Jayy, how are you doing? Loved that you played this song. ♥ Loved your reaction! 😆🙌🏻 A lot of musician's use or sample from others. Making us think we heard it before. Have a terrific day! 😊 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Try Seasons of Wither from Aerosmith.. It is a classic, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.. It is one of their hidden gems.... My favorite song of theirs...

Hello Jayy. The part of your reactions I enjoy most is your appreciation for these classic rock bands and iconic songs. Have a wonderful day and rock on. ✌🏻❤
Steven Tyler is 23 yrs old on this album. Plz check out band called Chain Reaction, a song called "When I needed you" from 1966. Steven Tyler is singing and playing drums at 16 yrs old. Amazing.
So I'll take you a step further Aerosmith recorded a song with Run DMC back in the 80s that jump-started rock rap...rap on MTV... mainstream rap... they've been part of it since the get-go and Eminem jumped on board. Check out Walk This Way Run DMC Aerosmith

"This is a Work of Art". you got that right once again.
Yes😉
"You got to lose to know how to win". I love that line cause it's so true.
"Every time I look in the mirror, all these lines in my face getting clearer"- One of the best lines in any song ever. So simple yet so profound.
@@robertpfeiff I love that line is also very possibly about lines on coke too and still makes sense in the song.
"I can't complain, but sometimes I still do."

I had a friend who ran into him at a supermarket in the late 80s.
I heard he's a really good guy, cool & laid back with all people.
A Boston boy
Same I grew up seeing Steven Tyler and Joe Perry everywhere especially at the Hanover Mall when it used to be there

R.I.P to your Dad.
Beklagar sorgen. Mycket fin låt på en begravning.

Once described as the quintessential rock song.

Wow! I did not know that!
One of the Greatest Rock Songs ever
Aerosmith is such a legendary band that, they're the only band to have their own "Roller Coaster". It's at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. It's great ride too!
🤘😎🎸🎢
Led Zeppelin has an airship named after them.
Yeah I was on that ride last year. It was awesome
There is a reason why the originals are used for samples. They realize the originals are masterpieces.
And then use it without permission, essentially stealing copyrighted material.
First Detroit Rock City, now Dream On. You're on a very good path.
Love the look on your face when Steve hits that high "Dream On" around 5:32 :P
Most of the “artists” today get their stuff from rock bands of 70s and 80s. There are many videos of Aerosmith doing this song. I know they restrict what you can show but check it out live. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry will give your goosebumps, goosebumps! ❤️
This song is an absolute masterpiece!
There is a reason why people "sample" songs...greatness!
Yeah, greatness the "samplers" don't have.
I never considered myself a big Aerosmith fan, but this song is a giant, glaring exception to that. Beautiful, masterfully-crafted song that stands out among the all-time great rock songs.
in the 70's Aerosmith that got me to rock music
This is one of my favorite songs...and especially as I get older.
Steven Tyler and Joe Perry = 🔥❤
Your eyes panning left to right with the music! 😂🤣😂. Perfect ending.
Aerosmith to me goes down as the best American Rock Band ever.

“Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” is my favorite Aerosmith song. “Dream On” is my 2nd favorite.
Dream On by Aerosmith is an iconic classic rock anthem!!! Hey Jayy go ahead and "Dream On!!!"

I love Eminem and what he did with the sample. Dream On, however, is a majestic piece of art. It makes me ponder life.
It's not a "sample" it's used by supposed songwriters who don't have the talent to write their own music

Steven wrote that song he was only 19yrs old. I am in my sixties now the words get truer as time goes on.

Aerosmith has 40+ years of music. Their early songs are the best! Dream On was released in 1973 and Steven Tyler was 14 when he wrote this song.

There is So Much Aerosmith greats to discover!
As someone who grew up loving this song and it's still in my top 10 songs of all times, I did enjoy Em's version.
Quite sure whatever Eminem did with this could not touch it. This is only one of the greatest songs in rock history.
You are right but give the Eminem song a listen it's fantastic. Song is called Sing for the Moment.

Great song and a great reaction as well.
There's a deep catalogue of great music from these guys. Their first four albums are rack killer start to finish.
