I am so very very sorry to hear that. I don't think many people really pay attention to how fortunate they are everyday just to wake up. Not including the other endless multitude of blessings that we have everyday.
A lot of people think rock is superficial. Just a party and a good time. But then you hear some of these iconic bands sing and you realize they had such talent to bring out many different types of emotions.

I went to this movie (Armageddon) with my girlfriend (now my wife of 21 years) and we both cried at this part of the movie when this song played. Now we have 2 daughters and I think of them too when I hear this song. I used to just watch them sleep when they were babies and thinking how much I love them and would sacrifice my life for them.

I had teenager parents when I was born, my dad was a 19 year old head banger who never missed an OzFest, he had a mullet and rock band tee shirts with the sleeves ripped off, he smoked grass in the school bathroom and played pool and smoked cigarettes in the bowling alley. So I have been hearing all these old rock bands since the day I was born. And I have taken the quality of this music for granted for years, but whenever I watch you guys react to these bands for the first time, it really reminds me to appreciate the art form that they are

I never hear this song without thinking of the movie. Knowing what happens in it just makes the song resonate even more for me. At 43 there are 2 songs I know of that will make me cry, every single time I hear them and this is one of them.

The movie that this is a theme track for is called Armageddon. It is hands down one of the best movies to come out of the '90s and when you get so immersed into it because it pulls you in I dare you to tell me you didn't shed a tear near the end of it. I haven't met anybody that hasn't cried at the end of this movie.
