Dirt and mud caked on the nozzle. A tube roasting in the sun, releasing god knows what chemicals over time. Etc. etc. I guess if you store your hose in a secure trunk or shed maybe this is different? As someone who is an “elder millennial” what the hell is that guy in that video talking about? Gen X are the pampered kids of boomers before the same boomers pulled the rug from under us second kids. Gen X comedies are “slacker” comedies for a generation whose sole concern was they had too many options and couldn’t be bothered to pick one with no financial concerns.
At least leave out the Monty Python franchise, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Labyrinth because David Bowie- other than that looking at the 80s sitcoms genuinely made me question why the planet is still structurely intact today with that level of brainrot
Im Gen X. Yes, I drank water out of the hose. Because our parents wouldn't let us back into the house until the sun went down and water bottles weren't a thing. It was the only option if we didn't want to shrivel up from dehydration. It's not the flex many of my peers think it is. (Hose water is DISGUSTING!) Sure, I'll rise up. 6 times during the night to empty my bladder. (Guess I'm drinking too often from my water bottle.)

I am not Gen Z, but I am certainly entertained by this so-called conflict with Gen X. The hose thing is especially funny because I, a Millenial, also drank from the hose and my Boomer grandmother let me. I was stopped by my Gen X mother because she, rightfully, thought it was gross and a good way to get diseases Also, that person saying you couldn't get bottled water in the 70s and 80s? Maybe if your parents couldn't afford/refused to buy it. A quick Google search says bottled water was around in the 1800s. Also, reusable water bottles have existed for ages. Haven't gen z already beefed with gen alpha earlier this year? I vividly remember the "spell restaurant" roasts. But also, the trend seems to skip a gen (boomers and millennials, gen x and gen z), so millennials dissing gen alpha should be the next intergenerational feud

Most of these people seem to be Trumpers. 3. I’m working class made good. Working yourself to death is considered noble & the highest value. Largely, both are parents abandoned us for work. This justifies it. 4. Being a workaholic is no fun. They think you all are just out having fun, not broke & struggling. 5. Politics. You are more liberal than us as a group. That means they see you as “soft.” 6. Boredom. These people have nothing to do but complain. It’s really work for workaholics to slow down or retire. 7. Number one: jealousy.

I personally hated being bullied by baby boomers when I started to work, so I did my best not to do the same thing. That's probably why my kids, who are millennials, love me and want me to be in their lives. (I was in a couple with their mom since high-school, and our first child is born when we were 17)
😢@@Chuck_EL
Both my parents are Gen X, I told them about this "beef" they just said "Lol, idiots", while talking about their Gen and carried on with their respective "fight" as my dad watched two newer episodes of their show so now my moms upset
The whole reason we kept the placeholder (Gen x) is because these labels/divisions are stupid and tired. Your dad seems to have got it, all these online divas seem to have drank the Kool aid
What a weird one-sided war
We're just tryna enjoy the rest of brat girl summer 😔
As a 1997 Gen Z member, yes I drank out of the hose, and yes my Gen X parents told me not to because the hose is gross
I now drink out of a cup because yes, hoses are gross
I was born in 2006 (late GenZ) I don't recall drinking hose water, but I likely did that on the past considering the amount of shit I've done as a kid lmao
Are hoses gross? No one told me. I mean, I drink out of my water bottle now but I fill it up with the hose, no lie. Gen X here.
@@Ninnybroth Yes, absolutely hoses are gross. Harmful? Probably not. But gross, yes.
Mostly by virtue of being stored outside. Imagine the creepy crawlies that get inside the hose while it's unattended to drink residual water droplets or take shelter, leaving behind their excrement on the way out. Dirt and mud caked on the nozzle. A tube roasting in the sun, releasing god knows what chemicals over time. Etc. etc.
I guess if you store your hose in a secure trunk or shed maybe this is different? But my hoses are always just kind of sitting out in the open all day, so not exactly the "cleanest" source of water.
@@Ninnybroth They are gross. When's the last time you cleaned a hose? They're left outside year round, bugs can crawl in them, mold can form, and some hoses are made with leaded fittings, because people aren't meant to be drinking out of them.
@@ameliaduncan3236 I've heard it's also related to lead poisoning, is this true?

Yep. Millennial here who also drank out of the hose. Big f***ing deal 😂
my appartement kid ass is kinda sad now
i missed the pure clear and apparently magic water of the hose
Those days where the hose water got all that extra sediment because there was a storm that stirred up the river and ditch so it got spicy 🤤🤤 (I had a lot of sicknesses as a kid, hmmmmm can't imagine why)
@QueenofTNT dont yall just run back inside for a huge cup of water drank so fast that it give you a random hurt point on your side while travelling down the stair to join the game again
@@louyou6614you missed the lead poisoning too
Why is Gen X acting like they were the only ones drinking hose water? Girl i drank hose water too. If anything every kid has drank hose water AT LEAST ONCE. its a part of childhood. Especially when you grew up in a household that often was outside.
literallyyyyy. or if u had parents that were like “in or out, no more letting the air conditioning out”
The drink taps at the primary school I was taught at were peak- the sheer power of some people there, myself included to chug water from them like we were preparing for heat waves (I live in Australia so this did and does occur randomly)
These people are so chronically online. That millennial dude at the beginning was so embarrassing to watch😭
EXTREMELY cringe

Hey...I love the danks. Also love the clever and very dry comedy of millennials and gen z. Mind you, I'm not rising up against anyone (except maybe billionaires - if I can find my glasses). Gen z is wonderful, and some people just get mad at the wrong things.
My mom and her friends repost AI generated content on Facebook thinking it’s real. Def not scared of them
lol!!
I fear them because vote way more consistently than any other generation and are easily swayed by the AI content.

Replying from the dermatologist's office no joke 😔
Im a younger GEN Xer, 51 now. I am in no way shape or form...at war...with GEN Z. Infact, im very proud of my GEN Z children, who are wise enough to see the chaotic cluster F were all stuck in right now.
😶
51 is not a 'young' gen x'er.
gen x aren't 'young' at all.
As someone born in the 1960's, none of this made an ounce of sense to me.
And I'm so much better off for it.
But fr why do they obsess over the garden hoses when everyone was legit scared of nuclear annihilation like every day of their childhoods? 🤔
They didn't know. And apparently we don't know that nuclear annihilation is still very much on the table.
Gen X mom here. I have kids that are Gen Z . I love my little weirdos.
Im Gen X. Yes, I drank water out of the hose. Because our parents wouldn't let us back into the house until the sun went down and water bottles weren't a thing. It was the only option if we didn't want to shrivel up from dehydration. It's not the flex many of my peers think it is. (Hose water is DISGUSTING!)
Sure, I'll rise up. 6 times during the night to empty my bladder.
(Guess I'm drinking too often from my water bottle.)
Why does their leader look like he would plunder a village?
I typed this before he said he looked like a viking.
Plundering villages is what people did in their free time when social media didn't exist.

Honestly, as a person not from the US, these generational beefs are so funny to me. Like, first, Gen X is literally beefing with the wall, and second, their audience is in a radius of the US and maybe Canada. So I don't get what they mean, "all of Gen X rise up." The Gen Xer where I'm from don't even know that this beef exists.
Maybe because they actually have lives. I'm not American either and not a single gen X I know would associate with this.
I’m an American and not a single Gen X person or millennial is beefing with any other generation except the boomers but that’s only cause most of our government is filled with boomers and they’re ruining everything for everyone. It’s literally just the chronically online weirdos
They literally beefing with the dry wall they installed instead of concrete, brick, clay, mudbrick or any practical alternative the kind of people terminally online wouldn't consider for a second
The fact that gen z is literally their kids😂😂😂
My mums Gen X. She was literally saying how the other day, her and a load of colleagues went to McDonald’s, had a milkshake, and just gossiped like teens again. So yeah, we’re all just kids trying to figure it out. Get you on that one lmao
I'm an elder millennial and this reminds me of when Boomers started making fun of Millennials for getting participation trophies when we were kids- THE BOOMERS were the ones that gave us the trophies! They were our coaches and parents. They acted like we, as kids, came up with the concept and gave each other participation trophies. So bizarre!
*Millennial here:* roast tf outta Gen X, they earned it and they keep complaining about how everyone forgets them anyway.
Totally. Never met a Gen X that wasn't a doormat.
All this generation shit is cringe, but I salute Gen X for 90s grunge

An addition to this comment: I heard you say "rise up" and unconsciously started singing "My Shot" from Hamilton before you started the bit💀
I don't get the Gen X obsession with the garden hose. I am Gen Z and I drank from a water hose. It's called "growing up in the rural countryside" lol. And it's no different from drinking sink water. My family still does not buy water and we're not even poor anymore. I don't think that makes me special though. Water is water. Idgaf lol

This is very disappointing. My generation had garden hose drinking water! And the cold war! And those of us who lived near targets of value had duck and cover! We had Reagan and gas rationing, the end of the Viet Nam war. If you were lucky enough to live in the Bay Area we had the zodiac killer. But yes, garden hose water.

I am not Gen Z, but I am certainly entertained by this so-called conflict with Gen X. The hose thing is especially funny because I, a Millenial, also drank from the hose and my Boomer grandmother let me. I was stopped by my Gen X mother because she, rightfully, thought it was gross and a good way to get diseases
Also, that person saying you couldn't get bottled water in the 70s and 80s? Maybe if your parents couldn't afford/refused to buy it. A quick Google search says bottled water was around in the 1800s. Also, reusable water bottles have existed for ages. So, yeah, that argument doesn't hold much...water

I'm an elder millennial and I always felt Gen X was kind of in a great spot as the "forgotten" generation. They just got to live their lives, do their own thing, and no one cared to blame them for anything stupid in the generation wars. So it's so perplexing to me that now they've decided to hop online and start picking the dumbest fights with their kids.

Gen X here to let you know that you missed another generation - between the Greatest Gen and the boomers was another small one - Silent Generation. Not all of us X'ers are the products of boomers, some us had parents from Silent Gen.
I’m Gen X. Here are my observations:
1. This always happens in cultures around the world, it’s as old as time, the older generation complains about the younger.
That means they see you as “soft.”
6. Boredom. These people have nothing to do but complain. It’s really work for workaholics to slow down or retire.
7. Number one: jealousy.
imagine being a grown ahh 50 yo boomer and beefing with 15 year olds
