8:00 as someone who has been a OR circulator/surgery tech....the answer to your question is yes, someone is assigned to switch songs when needed. Each doctor has their own preferences and some doctors are forbidden from listening to certain genres. We had one doc that it was unsafe for him to listen to classical music (cuz he would make his movements to the music) we had him on Norah Jones almost exclusively.
Im in medical school and often the surgeons assign a student or an intern who are watching the surgery to look over the spotify and choose some playlist.
Nurse here: Music in the OR is typical. Surgery is this huge event for the average person. But to OR crews its just Tuesday. So the music reduces any risk of attention lapse because the human brain has a limit of 45min without some variety to stimuli (reasons in nursing school our long class got a break every 45min)
That's incredible! I wish every school took that into account, maybe all of us students would do better if our classes had breaks every 45 minutes, especially for students with ADHD whose attention lapses even faster than that. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Your job is extremely important and we're all grateful for surgeons like you.
i'm sorry but every time i see somebody getting their ribs removed i can't stop myself from screaming in my head "RIbS? You RemoVE yoUr RibS? I'm sorry... RIBS? The stuff that protectects your quite important internal organs? and for what? to have a smaller waist?" that kinda crazy girl (no shaming anyone or anything, i'm honestly just scared for those people future phisical wellbeing)
plastic surgeons on tik tok just feels so weird bc it's like. I think plastic surgery is fine for the most part but seeing a doctor basically go "HOW TO FIX THIS UGLY THING YOU HAVE!!" just feels gross. and then that doctor who got her stuff revoked is just 😬😬 i forgot that happened

Like really?? Damn woman, some people aren't built like your flat self, I mean, I am, but some people aren't. 5:00 i feel this with my soul. There are too many doctors on shorts or tiktok who don't TW about the most life-changing images you'll ever see. I saw a video about a cyst that some women can grow in their wombs, and I wish I could turn back time and not scroll to it.

Dental student commenting on the personality thing! That sort of language about tooth personality is almost always used on teeth replacing natural ones, such as veneers or dentures. The idea is that certain tooth shapes (that usually only dentists or dental related people can distinguish amongst) are for certain types of people. For example, a larger man would get teeth that are larger or more square as that is more representative of his “personality.” When considering Emily Blunt, she is an extremely beautiful woman who is a bit petite, so the teeth to “match” her personality might be a bit more round and soft to match her frame. The veneers she has currently are a bit bulkier than most dentists would recommend, as theory goes that she should have more “natural” looking teeth (smaller and daintier so they mimic the contours of regular teeth). This is extremely niche info and the dentist who posted about it may not have explained it, and it’s harder to understand as someone who isn’t in the dental field. Hope that helps!! Love your content ☺️
Yeah I’ve heard dentist talk about this so it didn’t bother me. I mean I guess judging someone and analyzing their chores online is bad but the actual words and thinking like that is quite normal for a dentist
This is an example of a channel run by someone that knows what they're doing. I see all the hallmarks of a successful channel here. Decent video length, good production value, regular uploads, and interactive with comments. The only thing I'd say is to avoid taking another 10 day gap between videos if you can help it, that will seriously stunt your channel growth. The algorithm will just stop recommending you if you aren't consistent, and I'd like to see this channel grow as it rightly deserves.
I think a 10 day gap is very reasonable. Considering the production quality, the video took hours to edit and this guy probably has other responsibility. We wouldn't want him to rush his videos and reduce his quality.
@@jackalplays5178 agreed, some of my fave smaller youtubers have gaps between videos, i think it's a fairly average time to make + edit a video without lowering quality, especially if u dont have an editor and do it on ur own
10 days is more than okay for a gap between videos. channels that upload constantly on a weekly basis tend to start making lower quality videos, since they have to be produced in less time
Imo 10 day gap is fine. But I guess that when you're just starting and gaining some traction, it might be more beneficial to drop a few (pre-prepared?) good vids one after the other. And then slow down to a more manageable frequency.
Me as a European I just find it weird that 99,9% of these doctors on tiktok are from the US and I just find it odd ngl. Like I cannot take these professionals seriously if they keep doing wacky medical tiktoks for content money. In case anyone needs to know this. Plastic surgeons aren’t the same as cosmetic surgeons. If you want a cosmetic procedure, go to a board certified, trained cosmetic surgeon. Plastic surgery is for things like repairing tissue damage from trauma or deformities. Cosmetic surgery is about making you look good. Ok, I know very little about surgery, but I am majoring in nursing. How the fuck did she manage to stab a patient six times in the intestines while doing a liposuction? I've never been in an OR in my life and even I wouldn't do that badly The fact that tissue became necrotic (which I assue is what you mean by the soft tissue dying) means she likely fucked up way more than that and didn’t correct the mistake. Necrosis is life threatening and requires all the dead tissue to be fully removed (or it'll spread, kinda like bites in a zombie movie) meaning that woman probably lost part of her intestine It usually happens after really serious/untreated injury or cutting off circulation, neither of which would have happened from a liposuction Mistakes happen in surgery sometimes, a little nick because your hand moved or even severing something you shouldn’t. Almost always it's either corrected/stitched there or they're immediately scheduled for a specialist to fix it She stabbed this woman six different times and either didn’t notice or didn’t want to look stupid on her tiktok so she just left the patient with life threatening injuries. This is beyond licensure, this needs to be criminally prosecuted

It is their surgery they didnt deny it neither accepted it. Fixating on that is not a good idea. And I agree whole discussion causes unnecesary comments and people who made them insults them underhandedly for not being a natural beauty instead of increasing awareness but for plastic surgeons it is different of course it is their speciality and they try to be objective as much as they can. So yeah sometimes people who are try to raise awareness has underlining issues and different intentions than raising awareness. This goes both ways.

Can't believe you're a relatively new channel, you're editing and content is really good!! I like that the videos are short but still provide a lot of info/funny bits, and you seem cool. Hope you get all the recognition you deserve!!
One good thing to come of plastic surgeons jumping on TikTok is that now I know who not to go to in the event I ever consider plastic surgery. A surgeon's internet presence is very telling. Also, videos of surgery can be very informative and educational, and some patients find it comforting to see exactly what's going to happen during their surgery. I had knee surgery a while back, and it gave me some peace of mind watching several surgeons perform the same procedure. I also watched a lot of mastectomy videos when considering top surgery (as a trans man), and it helped me a lot. There are a lot of uses for surgeries to be taped and made available on the internet, and it isn't inherently a bad thing. The problem often comes when the patient didn't give proper consent, if HIPAA laws are broken, when the video comes as a jumpscare to the viewer, or if the surgeon is distracted by the camera. The best kinds are when the camera is set up to film, but the surgeon doesn't acknowledge the camera whatsoever. If there's any narration, it should be a voice-over. Livestreams also bring their own distractions, and their inability to be edited poses several problems, especially since the surgeon can't have someone on standby to end the stream immediately in case something happens.
For the celeb guessing. Yhe idea has been to let us normies know that we only don't look like celebs because they had surgery and meal planners and cooks and their job is to look good so they're able to exercise everyday for multiple hours of the day.
The only complaint I have about your content is the criminal lack of attention your channel is getting. Your commentary, editing, and humor is top tier and definitely deserves more engagement from the commentary community. Everyone deserves a bit of the light side of the internet.
Loving this quality! The only thing I recommend is toning down the visual and sound effects when the gag isn't related to the editing. I understand the need for viewer retention, but your calm voice and demeanor is what kept me watching instead of the editing, which was overstimulating at times. That's all though, keep at it! I'm confident you'll blow up.
I just found your channel and i cant beleive you only have 2k subs. Your videos are really entertaining and easy to watch. Cant wait to see your channel grow
It isnt plastic surgery. But my daughter was a caescarean section and the surgeon asked if it is ok if he listens to Red Hot Chili Peppers while he cuts her out and we were like "ABSOLUTELY". So. My daugjter was born to RHCP which is so rad
i can't stand those plastic surgeons who 'call out plastic surgery' or randomly tell people they need it or even make new insecurities so they can profit off of it, it makes me so annoyed
Ray, dude. I’m so happy I found your channel!! 👏👍You are the literal ray of sunshine I needed today and “Sir Gerry” had me absolutely pissing myself!😂👏🤣👍😁❤️😵☠️ I am now a proud subscriber!! Sorry for all the exclamation marks!!!
I love your channel so much! I only just discovered it, and I love how you make such good quality content that gets your point across without the video being an 40 mins - an hour (like some other channels)
Not plastic surgery related but I had local anesthesia once to get a surgery to remove a lump from my lip (it was bleeding and my doctor said it would be an easy removal). Since I was awake the whole thing, it was fun to know my surgeon listened to 90s Spanish pop 😂
‘Wow, I think modern internet corrupted plastic surgeons’ Actually back in the early early 00’s my mom’s plastic surgeon(breast implants) lost his medical license because he leaked footage of a celebrity client having her implants done
I stumbled across this video and subscribed right after finishing it, then proceeded to watch all of your videos in one sitting. I was laughing so hard, my cats got annoyed 😅 I rarely comment on videos, but we all gotta get The Algorithm™ to see you.
In the US any doctor can do surgery even if they are not board certified, so heck yeah they will name their tittle as much as they like because they want to make it CLEAR that they trained specifically for this and are actually qualified. They are not a lung doctor trying to do a BBL (which DOES happens btw)
just come across this video on my recommended and DAMN this video is so high quality! You should have way more subs !! I'm so looking forward to this channel blowing up!
I wouldn’t be able to to listen to music if I was a surgeon I’d get too lost in the melody. They say listening to music makes you work faster to me. It’s the opposite because I’ll be too busy enjoying the music to pay attention to what I’m doing. Lol
I don’t know man, I don’t think I’d wanna be the patient that got worked on after the people who are supposed to be doing surgery on me had alcohol on their lunch break….
Okay I will defend the celebrity shit to my death bed Celebrities lie constantly about getting work done and it fucks with the social standards of "beautiful" for both men and women. If it was required for them to put their surgeries I'd be way more open to criticism towards the doctors. However, for a lot of young people that content is all that keeps their brains set in reality, like i knew girls in college and highschool that damaged their bodies to look like a celebrity and after they found out that said celebrity probably had plastic surgery, a lot of them stopped hurting themselves in the ways they were. ( I did try to censor the dlexact types of damage they did to themselves so I hope this doesn't affect your ad revenue )
soon to be dentist here. The comment about the personality of the veneers might be that in a smile design we can prefer a roundish incisor edge for a youthful and a feminine look or a rectangular sharper incisor for a masculine one, and also color plays a huge role. If it looks to white and fake it might seem “not having personality”. Or that maybe the length of canines or the width of the teeth in general dont seem proportional. Anyway these are just my opinions and might be different than what the doctor meant in the video. Just wanted to give a little explanation. ☺️
I know this is a old vid but thought I would chime in I’m a nursing student that did a placement in theatre and for music depends on the surgeon some listen some don’t plus music wouldn’t get skipped they just have a playlist that plays but also I’m my case the music was usually just audible cause you had to be able to hear each other to know what was needed.
Actually, not all plastic surgeons are certified in the same way. That’s why that doctor wants you to know that. He’s saying that he is certified and trained to do the specific procedure he’s offering. There are plastic surgeons (as in surgeons that do plastic surgery but have their training in another area) and then there are certified plastic surgeons (surgeons who are certified in plastic surgery procedures) hope that helps!
I still don't support surgeries in a way that it "helps somepne to feel better". I think it has no psychological help. I am for knowing each other better instead of making inage of a person based on appearance.
If you’re really, really lucky, you can wake up half way through the operation but remain frozen because the cocktail of drugs they used to knock you out prevent you from moving. For extra fun, some people in this state report feeling pain, so you have that to look forward to as well. Anyways, I think surgery is totally chill and definitely the kind of thing you should be able to post to social media. 👍
Listening to music while you're operating is extremely unprofessional. You must always monitor the beats of the heart; in case someone is underdosed on anesthesia, the only thing that can tell you something's wrong is this. It's a situation where the patient cannot move but can feel the pain of the surgery. It's rare, but it can be a living nightmare. Plus, music is distracting.
Live-streaming actual surgeries on tiktok is so dystopian

"does you tooth make you blue" *Bluetooth sound effect I hate to admit I chuckled at that
The only complaint I have about your content is the criminal lack of attention your channel is getting.
I'm confident you'll blow up.
tysm! I'll keep your feedback in mind :)
Realistic day in the life? Bro i dont even make enough money to watch them eat that lunch
did not expect "plastic surgeon beef" to be like. 2009 nostalgia critic skits.
i can't stand those plastic surgeons who 'call out plastic surgery' or randomly tell people they need it or even make new insecurities so they can profit off of it, it makes me so annoyed
You're channel is going to get very large...keep up the great work! already on par with channels with millions of subscribers
Ray, dude. I’m so happy I found your channel!! 👏👍You are the literal ray of sunshine I needed today and “Sir Gerry” had me absolutely pissing myself!😂👏🤣👍😁❤️😵☠️
I am now a proud subscriber!! Sorry for all the exclamation marks!!!
I love your channel so much! I only just discovered it, and I love how you make such good quality content that gets your point across without the video being an 40 mins - an hour (like some other channels)
Dude, you're definitely gonna blow up soon, keep going!

so serious rn the ads i got for this video were all about botox and plastic surgery
Hey man, thank you so much for shouting out to trans folks in this video. We love you.
"it looks like pizza" it's so accurate, not the kind you eat of course.

@@RayLikeSunshine quality content btw 🥂
The best type of marketing, is marketing that doesn't feel like marketing.- Hopsin (Fly)
Not plastic surgery related but I had local anesthesia once to get a surgery to remove a lump from my lip (it was bleeding and my doctor said it would be an easy removal). Since I was awake the whole thing, it was fun to know my surgeon listened to 90s Spanish pop 😂
Dude, I just watched your subscribers go up a lot in real time!! That's so cool!!!
Ahhh ive been waiting for this man‼️
we out here
love this and cant wait to see you become virail ❤
glad you enjoyed! hopefully you won't wait too long 🙏
Silly-cones is such a good phrase to talk about plastic surgeons
‘Wow, I think modern internet corrupted plastic surgeons’
Actually back in the early early 00’s my mom’s plastic surgeon(breast implants) lost his medical license because he leaked footage of a celebrity client having her implants done
I stumbled across this video and subscribed right after finishing it, then proceeded to watch all of your videos in one sitting. I was laughing so hard, my cats got annoyed 😅 I rarely comment on videos, but we all gotta get The Algorithm™ to see you.
dang guess I need to make more videos huh :)
Love the sketch esque comedy
I'll keep em comin 🤝
thank you for the warning, I don't like footages that can be potentially triggering.
i cant believe that you started uploading videos less than a month ago ! keep it up they're really good
Thank you my man :) new vid dropping soon
In the US any doctor can do surgery even if they are not board certified, so heck yeah they will name their tittle as much as they like because they want to make it CLEAR that they trained specifically for this and are actually qualified. They are not a lung doctor trying to do a BBL (which DOES happens btw)
i just found you on my youtube recommended and wow. this is great content. thank you
nah dawg thank YOU
im shocked by the quality of your vids compared to your followers, I'm so happy this got reccomended, here before 500 check

You deserve more recognition than most youtubers
9:07 me with a double barrel name: 😧
so many of the "exposees" are wrong too. especially when they talk about foreign celebrities.
Got no issue with any Of em except surgery livestream.😅
I wouldn’t be able to to listen to music if I was a surgeon I’d get too lost in the melody.
They say listening to music makes you work faster to me. It’s the opposite because I’ll be too busy enjoying the music to pay attention to what I’m doing. Lol
I don’t know man, I don’t think I’d wanna be the patient that got worked on after the people who are supposed to be doing surgery on me had alcohol on their lunch break….
no wonder that one surgeon stabbed her patient six times
Nooooo. But Doctor Yuen is so sweet ^-^
He's not toxic. He's the opposite of toxic. He's holistic.
I refuse to believe anything bad about him ❤
Facts
Okay I will defend the celebrity shit to my death bed
Celebrities lie constantly about getting work done and it fucks with the social standards of "beautiful" for both men and women.
Your editing and humor is really good!!
I know this is a old vid but thought I would chime in I’m a nursing student that did a placement in theatre and for music depends on the surgeon some listen some don’t plus music wouldn’t get skipped they just have a playlist that plays but also I’m my case the music was usually just audible cause you had to be able to hear each other to know what was needed.
underrated asf
I'm glad my (medically necessary) plastic surgery went well.
This is the first video of yours I've watched and you're HILARIOUS! Subscribed :)
Awww not the high school musical guy… he like fell and broke his face on a stone table or something.
I just found your channel and you are hilarious keep up the great work
5:43 *me waiting for Dr. Youn to appear*
5:46 YESSSS
DUDE i love your videos im fucking cackling i cant believe this is underated.
omg really good job with these videos. thank you algorithmmmmmmm
Still have no idea why it's even called PLASTIC surgery
Actually, not all plastic surgeons are certified in the same way. That’s why that doctor wants you to know that. He’s saying that he is certified and trained to do the specific procedure he’s offering. There are plastic surgeons (as in surgeons that do plastic surgery but have their training in another area) and then there are certified plastic surgeons (surgeons who are certified in plastic surgery procedures) hope that helps!
I just found your channel and i love it!
I love you Ray
I still don't support surgeries in a way that it "helps somepne to feel better". I think it has no psychological help. I am for knowing each other better instead of making inage of a person based on appearance.
That speaker connect sound was mean 😂 jumpscare
i did not expect this channel to be this small whatt
hopefully not for long :)
Great video! Can't wait to watch your channel grow :)
oh my god you went from 80 subs to 200 so fast
Bro whaaaat. Your editing is so good, how do you not have more views!?
just gotta let the algo cook a little
I found your channel before you got 1 million subscribers
To be fair to Dr. Barret he's making short form content so he has to assume people are walking into the video having no goddamn clue who he is
Listening to music while you're operating is extremely unprofessional. You must always monitor the beats of the heart; in case someone is underdosed on anesthesia, the only thing that can tell you something's wrong is this. It's a situation where the patient cannot move but can feel the pain of the surgery. It's rare, but it can be a living nightmare. Plus, music is distracting.
A majority of surgeons listen to music while operating.
Here before this channel blows up
You are hilarious!
Love your content btw, you should try doing longer videos :)
