    I really like your channel. My father (Jack Hanley) was a super-heavyweight. He enlisted in WWII and did boxing exhibitions along with his normal service around the world. My father taught me to box for self-defense as an early teen. I continued boxing but added weightlifting, TKD, and some grappling for health and fitness. I continued that for 40+ years. Keep creating great videos.

    Adding: make sure the person holding the mitts is paying attention to your form.

    I used to hate holding pads when I first started. I was selfish thinking “I’m here to train not to coach” but I got good at it and it’s actually a lot of fun. And it helped me learn parries and blocks.

    Pad sessions are the best part of practice beside sparring.
    Holding pads improves many aspects of my fighting skills. For example defence, ring IQ, making the right decisions in the ring…

    Hey Tony, just wanna say I love your vids.
    I got a question though, what are some other sports (not combat) that are helpful or connected to boxing in any way?

    • @Thepinatamma
      @Thepinatamma 2 місяці тому

      @C_Medici I know I'm not Tony, but I've noticed that soccer players and skateboarders have an advantage. Soccer and skateboarding involve high-level footwork. Soccer=stamina. Skateboarding = toughness.

    My fighters always ask why I own their range so well in sparring . I tell them it’s old age and wisdom …in reality it’s the mitts lol. Mitts aren’t just great for the puncher , they are great for the holder as well so long as the holder holds them properly .

    Why is boxing so big right now? I started five months ago and didn't notice at first. When doing mitt work are you supposed to trick up the person holding the mitts to land a punch in to strengthen our brain or no? Also when sparring are you supposed to be going balls to the wall or just mark it? (Theatre term, same use/meaning though).. how wil i know if you or anyone responded to this??
