Very informative video... What kind of rep ranges would you recommend... I.e. lower weight higher reps or vise versa.
Thanks again for all the videos 👍

Any strength training gets you stronger , I do heavy concentration curls for hooking power and arm wrestling training fir decades similar to what you might see Beterbiev do those types of unpopular training ppl usually dint do that strengthen the firearm and wrist which ultimately delivers the harder punches you can do . I’ve been on creatinine fir 33 years and haven’t once got weaker in fact I’m at my strongest now at age 50 and dint have a wrinkle on me .

I love the humility in that early story. Most boxers don't like talking about their defeats, let alone admitting they were outclassed.

I just recently started focusing on plyometrics as a primary composition. I will say I personally superset two exercised and give myself time to fully rest, which I feel let's me dig deeper in each specific exercise as opposed to a full circuit where I find myself doing a lot of junk volume.

Great content coach. I’m 35 and had my first amateur bout. I was so tired, I was jogging often around 30-50 min at a 8 min pace. I sparred and that was harder for me, I was confident, nervous; and excited. I gassed out into the 2nd round. I trust my coach he’s helping me get to the next level so I can avoid this next bout. Advice or video you can recommend? I’ll follow these suggestions for sure as I want to keep doing this a few more years. The beach comments made me laugh, good way to start the morning 😆

I recently turned 54 and trying to get fitter - doing weights, treadmill, running, and pull-ups. I'm not super fit but have been doing a few pull-ups here or there. I managed 10 a week ago but just done 12 today - no creatine but I'm inspired to have it again. I did years ago but can't really remember the pros and cons to it - must be my age 🤣

Eat normal healthy food. No creatine or suplement foods. Just good food. Normal person does not need anything else. You and me are not top athletes. We are older dudes. I am now 45 and feel absolutely great. Reality is that my peak years are past now. Now i feel like i am at my best, but i was not top athlete at under 30. I am good to go and i have no injuries. Now when you realise this can you see where i am going? We are getting older but never give up. My father was really really strong and agile at age of 60. He was stronger than me. Different life, little different genes, hars but soft man if needed. At his age 70 we climbed roofs and he was still in super fit at his age. Now because if his stomac cances they cut the whole stomach out. In Finland we have good surgeons and semigood healthcare. Now at age 74 he still alive and can climb to roof with me and do 2 hours of shoveling with me. My point is be happy and train. No point push too much. You need bit of fat to survive strokes, cancer,...

There's a reason they teach soldiers to march. 3 laws of physics. In old school boxing, it's called roadwork. Jogging, while keeping your knees up. Marching is better for knife fighting. I do wing chun Kung Fu fistfighting and knife fighting. Do jump rope and jogging. Lift one handed weights in Orthodox or southpaw stance with your strong hand, not the fast one that has more reach. Use the arm adjacent to your back foot. Practice jogging with weights on the arms, and legs. In wing chun, there are weighted rings to go around your arms, legs and hands, for while you're doing the arm forms and footwork. Wing chun is known as the science of infighting. Works exactly like infighting style boxing, except with grabs, vertical punches, trips and stomps. The centreline principle is part of the basics. A line from the top of someone's head, down through the middle of their body. Aim there. Put your hands there to block their strikes, because they're going to shift their weight from the right or left, even if it's an uppercut. Even in fencing, you keep your eyes fixated on the conjunction of their clavicle. So you can see their weight shifting. They can't lie, or trick you. You can see what's coming. Do not look at their eyes. Look at the center of their chest. It will give you clear view of what their arms and legs might do next at the same time, because of how you have to shift your weight to kick or punch. This is how you block and counter, even in a swordfight. This is the most important shit. Keep your feet straight pointed in the same direction as your eyes. Jog with your knees up, for boxing. March very straight for knife fighting. Do jump rope. Practice switching from right handed stance to left while jumping. That's why boxers bounce around like that to train. Trains the muscles for stepping into strong punches with your back foot, and dodging as well. In Orthodox, your right hand is stronger but your left hand is faster because your left foot is in the front and you can step forward very quick with your left foot while punching with your left hand. You step into a strong right, by stepping hard into the ground with your back foot. Both feet are straight, you turn your right shoulder inward, and lock it in with your hip, by turning into the punch. With punches, you lean into them, by pressing your foot into the ground. Straight punches, or hooks. In wing chun, this is why you point your big toes together in a triangle, so you can easily rotate with both hands. Do not ever point your feet outward in a v, kinda like a duck. Makes you easy to knock over, and since you're not standing right, your legs can't push off the ground, and your punches will have no impact. Either straight, or point your big toes together in a small triangle for more balance when kicking, and to be able to spin with your punches, with both hands, easier, from a static position. You don't have to move your legs too much, when doing this. It was designed for emergencies, for real self defense when you can't even run. Wing chun was invented in the 1930's to allow women and small children to defend themselves from knifepoint rape and domestic abuse. It's honestly saved my life, a few times. Even from weapons. Not arguing with anyone, or reading any comments. I hope this can benefit someone. You're stronger than you think. In boxing, there's weight classes. How it works, is you use your skeleton to throw your weight, either fast or hard.
3 laws of physics are as follows:
    1. What goes up must come down
    2. An object in motion stays in motion unless stopped by an immovable force
    3. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. The 3rd law, is why they teach soldiers to march, and boxers to jog. Think about baseball. Throwing the ball. The baseball bat is a lever, you can use in southpaw or Orthodox stance. One hand goes backwards while the other goes forward. This is how they teach a soldier to hold a gun, fire it while running, or hit someone with it while running or just while standing. Or knife fight while standing or running. Or use a rock. Very old saying in China: "Kung Fu lives in everything we do" that's talking about ergonomics and physics. A true Shaolin Kung Fu master has handed you the secret knowledge of all fighting. Use it to protect yourself, do what's right, and help those who can't help themselves. I'm joining the Canadian Army one day. I'm willing to die to do what's right, and help people. Whether you are a boxer, a knife fighter, you fight with a shotgun, and hit people with the end of the gun, we're all the same. Do what's right, defend the weak, and don't be a goddamned bystander if an innocent person is getting killed. Enough of the 3rd responder effect. Don't wait for the police to get there when lives are at stake, and apathy could get someone killed. Protect yourself. Protect your loved ones. Be willing to die to protect the lives of those you love

Creatine has cumulative benefits, so the time doesn’t affect performance as long as you’re consistent in taking it every day. So the best time is the time at which you’re most likely to be able to do it consistently, so your method with doing it along with other supplements sounds great.

Is there a way to lose muscle?
I am 5'9 200 solid but, i want to go down to my natural weight which is 170lb. I gained muscle from body building and boxing and to fight heavyweights but, now i want to go back down and stay at 170.

    Remember everybody:
The ONLY way to reliably reduce risk of concussion/long-term head trauma is to have strong/well developed trapeseus and neck muscles.
NO NOT neglect your weight training. Your life may depend on it.

When I was a muscle head, I ate alot of creatine. It nade a night and difference. When my focus shifted to kickboxing and Muay Thai, I had a world-class coach that insisted creatine makes you slow, and it makes your bones brittle. Briefly (A few weeks), I took his word for it. Both claims are total bullshit, I did the research and self experimentation. I'm still fast, and there's no scientific research to support the claims about bone deterioration. I would wager that I my explosive strength suffers when I don't consume creatine.

It's funny because you mentioned being outclassed by Aleksy Kuziemski from Poland. You talk about his strength and yet when he turned pro he scored just 7 KOs in over 20 wins. As a person who faced him, what do you think he lacked to score more KOs?

How do you teach people who are uncoordinated, e.g. people that flare their elbows out when punching. I'll show them how to do it properly and what they're doing, but they just go back to flaring their elbows out. Should i just be more patient or just accept that some people are uncoordinated and let them do their own thing

    • @drool3696
      @drool3696 Місяць тому

It depends on the person. What worked for my was practicing techniques av few minutes when I warmed up for strength training on days not boxing. Often people only do boxing/ sport a couple of days a week. Doing it more often will help the the brain store it faster in the subconsciousnes. Also try to make them do drills where they only focus on the elbow part and not on any other part of the punch.
