To be fair, i think the implication in most is that while flashback starts as memory of POW character it becomes just own narrative as whole and there's no contradiction as long as POW character doesn't aknowledge parts he wasn't for.

It's up to the consumer if they feel it's worth the double dip though, but it's the flat-out superior option if you plan on replaying it again.
