The first time I've been to Philippines was in 2016 and all the foods I've tried were absolutely delicious but my all time favorite was their chicken and ginger stew called Tinola, I'm still making it at home since I really fell in love with that dish. How I wish this pandemic will end soon, I'll definitely go back.
Mike did so well in making me crave for a good sisig, I'll look up the recipe on Google later.
    Love from Bulgaria 🇧🇬

@@rado3880 i'm not a big fan of sour food so yess, Tinola is better for me but my boyfriend likes sinigang a lot, the recipe is quite easy too so I'm trying to replicate it at home but I don't think I can ever do it the way you do it in Philippines 😅

Your comment about pouring syrup on snow reminded me of a neat story, from a book I used to read as a child in fact. In the Little House on the Prairie series (specifically Little House in the Big Woods), Laura Ingalls Wilder recounts making snow candy as a child during the Wisconsin winters. They would take fresh snow, pack it into a cast iron skillet, then pour pure maple syrup (this is Wisconsin so you know it had to be fresh and delicious) over the snow, in fun patterns. The syrup would harden and then they would somehow get rid of the plain snow left in the container and the candy shapes would be left.
Such found memories of reading that delightful series.

Enjoyed watching your filipino food shows all the time. Not all restaurants will cook same quality but you really know which eatery would cook the best! Which is amazing beause to actually understand & appreciate filipino cuisine you have to go to a reputable famous filipino restaurants. Not everyone can cook real pinoy authentic food especially if its not fresh native ingredients, even native charcoals make a big difference on smoked bbq.

Hopefully next time you can make it to Filcuisine in Kent. I'm glad you made this video. There aren't many authentic Filipino restaurants around now a days. Also to see that you stopped by Beacon Hill brings back childhood memories. I grew up there and my aunt owned a Filipino restaurant/video rental place there. Her sister had a place not too far from the restaurant that pretty much sold filipino food snacks and rented filipino movies. We all worked and helped out. Inay's/Kusina Filipina use to be there. Delite Bakery (also on Beacon Hill) is always a great spot for donuts, cakes and other desserts. So many great memories. Happy eating!
