I went to a dealership and was getting an oil change. I’d do it myself but my apartment complex doesn’t allow people to work their cars in the parking lot so it’s whatever. They tell me I need to replace all my spark plugs. They wanted to charge me 500 dollars. I honestly couldn’t believe it. I’m a jet mechanic by trade so changing “spark plugs” on those motors may seem hard but honestly I don’t think so. We call them igniters. Anyways, I didn’t think it’s any different and to my surprise it’s not. Appreciate the step by step tutorial helping out us visual learners. Only cost me 37 dollars for a pack of spark plugs.

Nice video that is a Mazda engine in there P5. Torque spec for those plugs is 13 foot pounds. Toyota charges 187 dollars for replacement. Service interval for plugs is 75000 miles. Look in your schedule maintenance guide book. Help yaris IA owners do it themselves. Spread the word

Yeah it’s wild. It has a lot of Mazda parts, sometimes are a pain to find through Toyota go figure.

Why do you need to change them? 2017 still new, unless you put on high mileage now?

75000 miles is life span, most 2017 daily drivers are hitting that number around now

Not a good way to remove the plugs, you should disconnect the wire plug, before pulling the plug out to prevent damage to the wires.

New spark plugs don't hurt especially when you get about 100,000 miles you'll probably get a little bit of mileage with new ones also in my opinion it's a good idea to blow compressed air in the spark plug chamber before you take out the plugs it's a good idea
