We do not have wood stove in Trinidad and Tobago but have something called a fire side or Chulha it's because we don't need heating in our house but always love to see how you all use and build your wood stove i watch keep it Dutch and their wood over build as always love the video and you all God blessing to you all 💗🙏...
Awesome video, super useful! Very similar to my build... couple questions for you! 1. Do you know what the outside temp that chimney pipe is supposed to get to? I see you used a black rubber boot and all the high temp ones I could find were orange... black ones only go to about 250f while orange go closer to 500? 2. I think that Vulkem is also only rated to 185f? Or is that a higher temp version? I know you mostly used it on the flashing where 185 is fine, but was wondering if a different sealant should be used on the chimney pipe? 3. I assume those are class A chimney pipes? Can you link where you got those chimney pipes, both the black and the galvanized ones as well as that black chimney box you put in? 4. How did you finish the interior of the fire place? I saw you added cement board, did you come back later and put stone over that? Thanks again, awesome video!
Hey great questions, first I do not know what the outside temp is supposed to get to but I do know that the pipe we purchased stays extremely cool to the touch as they are double walled insulated pipe. second I used the vulkum and I didn't care to look at temp for it as the pipe I purchased like I said stays extremely cool to the touch. I purchased all my pipe from my local buck stove dealer and they actually came out and looked at my setup and got the list together of everything I needed to get the job done that I was trying to do. Everything they recommended fit together perfectly. I recently posted a video on the finish of the fireplace named DIY Fireplace Build with Clipstone. I hope you can get a chance to check it out. Thanks for the questions and I hope this helped.
Im late to the game but it looks like a driving rain could get blown up under the cap and run down under the flexible gasket. I would have taken the top cap off the roof and sealed it down then reinstalled the roof cap.
Probably not a bad idea , but I did get it sealed up and we haven’t had any issues with water penetration since installing. But not a bad recommendation for next guy.
Donavan you did a wonderful tutorital. Thank you. God Bless and l love yall 💕💕💕
Thank you Sandy.
A lot of work but worth it in long run. Good job

I love huddling around the fireplace when it’s cold ,after being outside, to get warm. It’s the best
That was interesting. Something I will never have to do.
Me too. 😉
Great video!
Thanks Dan.
Yes, it helps me, thanks a lot.
Your very welcome. Best of luck getting it done.
That was a lot of work and scary I was holding my breath when you were climbing that ladder but great job well done 👍
I made it out alive.
Wow, I'm worn out now. I was holding on for dear life watching you up on that roof.
Carl I live to fish another day.

Heads up soot will clough the holes on the vent cap if you burn wood with a lot of resin in it, Ask me how I know.
Burning lots of pine trees aren’t you?? lol only hard woods in my future.
