Follow our outdoor family adventures and daily life on our homestead.
Currently, we are in the middle of building our forever home (barndominium) on our homestead and recording the entire journey.
Donovan is a retired Army soldier of 20 years with 2 combat tours to Iraq. He met his wife, Linda, while they were both soldiers deployed to Kuwait. Fast forward 5 military moves and 4 kids later, they end up in Miami, FL, the fishing capital of the World. The summer of 2022, they made the life-changing decision to manage their fishing charter business of 6 years from afar by moving back home to Oklahoma to be closer to family, raise their kids in the country, and build their forever home on a 26 acre homestead.
Fishing, hunting, catch clean cook, living in our fifth wheel, DIY videos, raising chickens, insider's peek at our charter business, outdoor activities with the family, and building our homestead from the beginning are what you'll see in our videos.

Bucks DOWN #takeakidhunting #freshmeat #jesusislord
We set out to kill a buck this year and that's exactly what the kids are planning to do. With our own property having plenty of deer on it it was only a matter of time before one or more of my kids would finally be able to bag a decent buck. I never thought that two of my kids would harvest deer in the same week but Thanksgiving week was one to be very thankful for. Elijah and Elliana both were able to hit the woods during the rifle season and drop them a deer to help the family with meat in the freezer. There were a few mishaps along the way but in the end it all works out.

I had to pull out the BIG 🔫🔫 #pond #rebuild #viralvideo
Переглядів 422Місяць тому
After nearly three years of trying to work on this pond by myself with my boys and my neighbors help I felt defeated so I hired professionals. I used a excavating company to come in and finish the work on the pond that I just could not do myself. This is how the pond finally turned out.

We drained the pond and all the fish are gone. This had to happen because for the second phase of my pond I’m paying for professionals to come and do it right. In the middle of our process our boys had a football game so we de used to show you a bit of their victory.
Bowhunting Public successfully

Short video of a public land bow hunt in October 2024 harvesting a small deer. I love hunting and just being out in the woods and hunting season is where I get to do all of that. But not having a lot of land to hunt on of my own tends to lead me to hunting on public hunting land. Now in Oklahoma there is lots of public hunting and some areas are better than others. I find that doing your scouti...

With hunting season upon us I take my week of elk hunting to Oklahoma where I get to chase big Oklahoma elk with a bow. This year seems to be much harder than previous years, not the hunting but the draw for a tag. Once deer season opens I head over to JV Outfitters where he puts me on some doves and a hammer doe. This is hunting action in your face as real as it gets. If you interested in the ...

Pontoon Boat REBUILD
Переглядів 3763 місяці тому
I get the opportunity to rebuild my grandpas old pontoon boat after it had been sitting for years. My grandpa Charlie used to take anyone out fishing that wanted to go on this old pontoon boat when I was a kid. After I left for the Army he got to the point, at some time during my career, that he could no longer go fishing on the old boats so he sold it (for $1) to my sister then it sat for year...

That fish is originally from the Amazon
👍
You can also clean the black tank with the flush king. Thanks for showing how to free up a clog on the grey tank.
That is correct you can use it either tank I just had issues with my grey tank. Have a wonderful Christmas and remember Jesus loved you enough to die for you to save you. God Bless!
Barbecue
Sounds delicious as well.
That porcuppine is a endangered spicies it cant no harm to people it shouldnt not kill and cook
It’s not an endangered species, it can harm people and it’s delicious. So I’m not sure you’ve got your facts straight. But thanks for the comment. God Bless
vids its amazing 🔥I was really curious about this animal, the meat and gravy looks bomb, that was awesome bro
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video. Have a blessed day.
@@TeamTateOutdoors the porcupine looks really badass, its really cool to watch it how you guys skinned... praps.
I always use a plunger. Make sure your sinks and shower has standing water in them. And plung. All sinks and shower
Never used a plunger to fix a clog in the tank, Dan like that would back pressure out another sink. This tool works very well.
@TeamTateOutdoors let sinks and shower hold water near full. Then try plugging any one of em. Always work for me
@TeamTateOutdoors I'm going to get the one u used. Never seen one before. Thank you

Thank you, do you eat it very often?
They make black caulk. Pro tip.
Well done all of you. Great hunting. Thank you for sharing. Thoughts and Prayers. Love and Blessings. Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
Thanks Doris, we have been making jerky nonstop. Have a merry Christmas

@TeamTateOutdoors Hi,, say hi too the Ladies ❤️

Thanks Darrin, hope you have a Merry Christmas
Awesome video love it great shot love it love you all God blessings to you all 🙏💖🙏💖…
Thanks Darrin, these kids did make great shots this year, if only their dad could.👀
Sad!
Don’t worry, it had to happen so I could get the pond truly fixed.
Just found your channel. We too are building a barndo in OK and are in the final push before Sheetrock next week. I also had a very generous sub who let me use his lift for osb in the shop/garage. It was a life saver. Enjoyed your videos.
If you have any questions feel free to send me a message and I will answer it as soon as I see it. Best of luck.
@@TeamTateOutdoors what’s the pitch of your roof? Mine is 4/12 and I slide very easily up there. You looked pretty stable.
@@QuietGuyDoingStuff 4/12 as well. It’s a bit hairy up there but step on the screws and you will have traction
Looking good 👍. No matter what call that water coming in just ground water. Here in Texas spring feed ponds and lakes supposedly belongs to the state even if it’s on private property and they tax you for the pond or lake. I’ve been told this by three different people now, but never experienced it myself.
I haven’t heard of any taxing here in Oklahoma but good to know. It’s filling up nicely and can’t wait to update everyone on how it’s coming.
Anywhere water can come in, water can leave especially that far under full pool.
If we do somehow end up losing water then I will address it then. However we have since filled the pond and are not having any leaking. Video to come.
❤
😁👍
Man I would be drilling that little hole some just to see if you could get some more water coming out of it.
It may sound stupid but I didn’t want to poke a hole in the bottom on accident somehow after all I had done to get it holding water. 🤣🤣
If it was up higher, I would be to, but since it's at the bottom I would dig it out and pack it with clay. Water will leave through that hole once the level is above it and the pressure is greater.
@@j.walker3498 lees hope not

I built my house on the rock this is just a fish. Jesus Saves
Nice brother, can't wait to see it when finish
Can’t wait to share the following videos of us filling it with water and fish.
Donovan, you tried your hardest, and it did look good. You were only one man with some small machines. At least you knew when to tap out and let the guys get in there and make your dreams come true. They got the BIG machine and got in there and made your pond. And you even have a natural spring feeding into it! Now that right there is your sign, I think that God is saying you done good! I can't wait for the next rains to come and fill your pond! Then, in spring it will rain and then the grass will grow, and it will be beautiful again. God is so good. Awesome job, Donovan! You did it! I'm already excited for you and the family to get the pond stocked and enjoying some wonderful times out at the pond! God bless.😊
Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked it, can't wait to show it all filled up.
Awesome job in building the pond love it can’t wait to see how it fills up love the video praying for you all love you all 🙏💖…
Thanks so much. We can’t wait either.
It’s great, Donovan! You did so much work on it before-the very best you could. Once it fills it will be nothing but enjoyment for all of you. Thank you to the guys who did this. Praying everyone is doing well and you have a very blessed and happy thanksgiving! Love you all. God bless
Thanks Kelly, it’s gonna be an amazing place to hang out with the kids and the extended fam.
gonna be awesome
I think so too.
Looks great can’t wait to go fishing to fill it up with fish 😊
I’m so looking forward to fishing with you mom you don’t even know. We will have it full of fish in no time.

I definitely fear God but I believe he sent his son Jesus to die for us to save us and give us new life through him and his resurrection.
How does it taste like
Better than the finest cut off beef. It was stewed however I think any other way you cook it would be amazing as well.
ما أبشع الإنسان ... لم تكفيه كل النعم التي منحها إياه الله من أشهى المأكولات و المشروبات فتحول إلى أكل مثل هذه المخلوقات 😮
This was given by God for us to eat. And it was delicious.
Back after install. I'm so glad you made this video. The Selkirk boot kit is convoluted. They have you put the rubber boot around a heat-shield, which still allows for a gap in the top and comes with a storm collar that is way too small for the chimney. So I did it your way and used the boot directly on the chimney. Also, the instructions recommend sealing it with silicone, which I find doesn't adhere to rubber that well. So I used poly like you did. (p.s. I did end up using the chainsaw! lol. Angle grinder for the metal layer, then chainsaw to get the hole in the roof started (they used 3/4" decking! Then there's planks underneath that!) then sawzall for my circle.) (p.p.s A tip for anyone trying to figure out where to put the roof hole so it lines up with the stovepipe, drop a plumb-line from the ceiling)
All good info, glad it helped. Thanks for watching and best of luck to your new installed stove. Stay warm!
@@TeamTateOutdoors Sort of. It's 38 degrees and too cold for the poly to cure. I broke the seal walking around on the roof and made it leak. Now I'm waiting for it to stop raining so I can add more poly (I'm also going to silicone a piece of metal flashing over the top seam since I didn't have a convenient ridge-cap like you did). I'm hoping once I get a fire going it'll help heat things up and cure the sealant, because the weather forcast is nothing but cold and colder from here on out... talk about waiting till the last minute! Anyway, thanks again!
You guys want a tip on using polyurethane caulking like that. Use some delutited dawn dish on your finger and it won't stick to you finger and make a huge mess. I use that stuff all the time in masonry as control joints. And the dawn makes it a smooth finish and your able to press it in the gap. But this video does help my getting ready to install my buck stove lil John. And I have a metal roof also. That's for the video. It helps with my own install.

Not sure that you can group all our food together and say that it looks the same. This was a stew and stew is stew. But if I made pot roast it would not lol like this. Just saying.. thanks for commenting.😁😁

nice cooking
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Как свиньи. Сначала вьіваляли по грязному полу. А потом сьели!😅😅😅😅
Lol, well actually I kept it on it’s skin on the floor. The meat never touched the floor.
Я когда это увидел, сразу так и подумал 😀
I cringed watching you use the dremmel tool, seeing all the pieces flying up and you with no safety glasses on. I have a friend that lost vision in his eye because of a piece of metal that got in his eye, not to mention a piece of the cutting disc could break off and fly up into your eye.
So glad nothing happened to me that’s for sure.
Bro actually used a dremel to cut through the roof. I can see why the video is sped up!
It was all I had and I wasn’t gonna rush that part if you know what I mean.
@@TeamTateOutdoors No I get you. Gotta do what you gotta do. I've got several layers to go through; metal, old asphalt shingles plus sheathing. So I'll probably end up using my entire arsenal, from dremel to ... chainsaw? You really should get an angle grinder though. It's the man's version of a dremel. [Tim Allen Grunts]
