Since we have no more nut trees in our yard, we haven't seen many squirrels, but I will be sure to pass this on to others who may be having this problem. Thanks for sharing!
I saw a bird feeder with a slink ever time the squirrel would climb up to get to the feeder, their hands would catch slinky an fall back on the ground.

Here in a Louisiana suburb, I think that we have more squirrels than birds.
Same with us and we're in New Hampshire! Hopefully the wild bird population will grow again and will be like I remember it was when I was a child.
Can you link to the strong double-sided tape you used? I have everything else :)
How did you cut them into smaller pieces?
For a $1.25 you can buy a slinky from the dollar store, put it around the pole and it ends up being a bungee for them
I saw a video where the squirrel pushed the slinky up with his nose until ye could access the feeder.
My feeder pole came with a slinky on it. And both the rats and squirrels figured out how to climb it.
