    That's a stunning place, especially for a man made feature. I'm hoping to head to Longdendale in the peaks in a month or so, which I really like for another reservoir trail. Thanks for taking us along Mark, hope you are well and take care buddy. 🙂👍

I like the ruggedness of the area. It reminds me of when I lived on Dartmoor. I will have to take a drive to that area in the summer and have an explore around. Thanks as always Mike. Fantastic Mark! It’s so nice to see how clean & well kept the popular spots are where you live. Sadly, here in the states, people seem to lack appreciation and places end up in poor condition. Oh well, I still know where to go which others do not lol..
    Great visit my friend. Blue skies to you always!

      Good morning Brian, I hope you are keeping well my friend :) I must admit I was surprised by how clean it was around the lake. I know that they have a lot of volunteers that help to maintain and clean the place, but all the same, it was looking good. I agree Brian.... it is always nice to know of places to go where others don't. It is quite difficult to find them kind of places in the UK due to the size of the place. Plus around 95% of the country is owned by someone. Usually the church of England, councils or the forestry commission etc. So it is getting harder to find those secluded spots. Thanks as always for taking the time Brian :) Have a great week, all the best, Mark :)

      @@Yorkshiremadmick I thought that myself Michael. It would make a nice hostel or outward bounds centre or something. It's a shame, because when you walk around a lot of these areas, you always see quite a few of abandoned old buildings. You would think that property developers would of converted them into apartments or something.

    Hi Mark. Stunning is definitely a good word to describe that place and the weather looked great for a stroll round it. I really like that Frost river bag of yours, they do some really nice kit. I looked at them myself last year but couldn't justify the cost seeing as I don't get out as much as I used to. I ended up getting some molle bag which lacks the class and materials and workmanship of a good Frost river bag. Nice to see you out mate the video as always was a pleasure to watch, thanks for sharing. Be safe and be lucky. Wol.

      @markbailey2981  4 роки тому

      Good morning Wol, I hope you have been keeping well mate :) It is always great to hear from you :) I agree, Frost river packs are great. The only downside is the cost. But for the materials and the handcrafting that goes into them, it is expected. I like the Isle Royale pack that they make, but that was over £300. I remember when I used to buy a car for £300 lol. Hopefully this bag should last me my days if I look after it. Thankfully the weather was playing ball when I went out. It has rained since, so I was glad I went up to see the lake when I did :) Thanks for taking the time Wol…. have a great week, all the best, Mark :)

Not only was it the row up there, I would spend another 10 hours rowing around fishing and then when you were completely knackered there was the row back down to the dam... usually with the wind against you, trying not to let your roll up go out lol. Yeah, I'm too old for that lol. There a few outdoor centres in the are, like you say this would make a nice ne or a hostel. I saw a log cabin on there for sale. It was only £10,000. Hi Trev, I hope you are keeping well mate :) If you go onto the Rudyard lake website, you may be able to park there overnight. Or just at the top of the lake are a number of roads and pull ins that a car or van could be left in. In fact at the shallow end, there is an open car park that you could leave your van overnight. We used to park there when night fishing. The weather was really nice for a change. It hasn't stopped raining since lol. Take care Trev. Speak soon mate, all the best, Mark :)

    Good video mark 👍
    I have a small inflatable and seagull engine so would like to boat here one day.Do i need a permit from the club or am i free to sail? Also what is the parking like for launching?

      Hi Carbonbodyworker many thanks for watching. If you go onto the Rudyard lake website, they have the prices for boat permits. I know you have to pay, but it has been years since I put a boat on there. You use a ticket machine like a car park machine, so it saves waiting for them to open. The access is good. The slipways are right next to the car park. I think they are open all year for sailing. Thanks again, all the best, Mark :)
