Thanks, Mark, as always for a super video.
The world for us in the UK has turned head over heels in a week. Self-isolation will allow me to practise some bushcraft in the garden and make use of the triangia pot stand you so kindly sent.
    Stay safe, sir.

Hi Imran, great to hear from you brother 👍. I'm glad you found the video useful. I agree mate the country is upside down at the moment. I have been finished from work due to it, but no one has mentioned anything about getting paid. I spoke to the dole yesterday about the 80% retention wage and they haven't a clue who pays it, or who you speak too etc. So I have just been granted permission to use a private wood. I think I will self isolate in there until June lol. Thanks for taking the time brother.... I hope you and the family stay safe...... all the best, Mark :)

MARK!!! How did I miss this😕 Your kit looks fantastic & very well thought out. You make an old paramedic proud lol. Thanks for the mention ~ I’m so happy those shears found a place in your FAK. Hope you’re keeping well and steering clear of this current nightmare! Blue Skies my friend🙏🏻

Good morning Brian....... I hope you are keeping well my friend 👍. Yes it is a funny old time at the moment. I will certainly be glad when we can all get out again. I'm was hoping after Easter they would start to lift the restrictions. But listening to the government on the TV it seems like it will be months. They don't have a strategy by the looks of it and seem like they want to lock people indoors until it passes over? Crazy times. Yes the sheers have found the top spot in the FAK 👍😀. Thanks again Brian...... it was very generous of you. Stay safe my friend...... my best wishes to you and your family, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥🥓.

Thanks for the shout out Mark. I didn't want to post a link to the video as it didn't feel right. I like what you carry, it's fair to say I need to do a refresher. You don't forget things but improved products and better ways are sometimes introduced. I'm looking out for the Israeli Bandage, love the ratchet but not torneque effect that gives you. Again, we really appreciate the shout out. Cheers Sel

Hi Sel, I hope you are keeping well mate :) Many thanks for stopping by, it is always great to hear from you. I was going to leave a link to your video, but I forgot to ask you if it was OK prior to uploading it. A couple of people have asked for the link and I have give it them in their comment. But if it is OK with you I am more than happy to add it in the description of this video :) I didn't do it, just in case you didn't;t want me to. Have a great weekend Sel...... I have just been finished again at work. I was only there 2 weeks. I have the Barbarians version of this trauma pouch. They only claim it's constructed of 600D nylon, but it's heavier than any of my other 600D packs. It seems equal to my 1000D backpacks and pouches and the stitching is very well done. It's the exact same design as the last one you opened up here and I'm happy to see you have an actual trauma kit and not just minor scratch and scrape kit that so many throw in their kit.
Below I've posted a link of a roll over accident that happened just the other day where the vehicle ended up in our front yard. After calling for emergency professionals (911 here in the U.S.), I grabbed my trauma kit and ran out the door to the vehicle. I was glad to see I wasn't the only responsible citizen out there rushing to the aid of the victim who had been pulled out of the vehicle long before any professional first responders arrived. Miraculously, the driver didn't sustain any life threatening injuries, but as is often the case, the difference between life or death is often made by those who arrive on the scene long before the professionals do. It took several minutes for the EMT's to arrive, and in the case of an arterial bleed, they likely wouldn't have arrived in time. This video was shot after the victim had been cleared by the medical professionals.
Great job Mark for demonstrating your trauma kit. I have a larger one I carry in my vehicle, and have several around the house. The incident below reminded me of how important it is to have this type of kit accessible at all times.
    Another great video brother.

Hi Eric, I hope you are keeping well brother :) Wow, it sounds like that was a traumatic experience!! You did well go and help. I know a lot of people freeze in situations like these. Fair play to you 👍. On the fishery where I work there is a road that runs along the perimeter that a lot of bikers take to get further into Wales. We must get half a dozen accidents each summer outside the entrance. A couple of them died. I hate it when they happen. I will check out the link Eric... thank you :) Take care brother..... I hope things aren't as crazy over there for you as it is here. All the best, Mark :)

Great video Mark. I’ve been using a large med kit for 25 years as a HS coach and carrying a smaller kit w/ me in the woods for even longer. Your kit is definitely more comprehensive than mine and I like the idea of a burn remedy. I carry a few other things with me that you didn’t show...1) a snake bite kit, 2) some otc medicines (migraine, Motrin, pepto-bismal and Benadryl), 3) a breakable instant ice pack, 4) hospital wrapping (it adheres to itself w/o adhesive, really good for larger wound) and 5) an ace bandage. A persons medkit is a safety blanket for when things go wrong, the better prepared you are the better. Keep up the good work.

Hi Baseball Morgan, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment :) You make some good points in your comment. I will take your advice on some of the items that you mention. My medications/pain relief I tend to carry in my pack or on me. I take prescription pain meds so I keep them at hand lol. We only have one venomous snake in the UK, the Adder. The venom isn't supposed to be very toxic, plus they are a very shy snake and rarely bite. An EPI pen might be a good option though. We have kids who bring them to the fishery for bee stings and the like. I agree, an ice pack would be a good thing to pack. I will put that on the list. Ace bandages are a great item to carry. I did have one. I was sent a multicam one to put in the kit and ended up wrapping it around the silencer of a rifle lol. I will have to buy another :) Thanks again Morgan..... have a great week. All the best, Mark :)

I think the closest I’ve ever got to carrying a first aid kit was probably a couple of plasters in my fishing gear. However I did start to form one, I purchased an Israeli emergency bandage and intended to add to that. Hi Carl, I hope life is treating you well down there mate 👍. Many thanks for stopping by as always. Yeah first aid courses are always worth going on. Especially if you have a family. If there is ever an accident in the home or when you are out, at least it gives you a bit of knowledge to help them out. I would see if you could get on one with work. It would be free then 😜. Fingers crossed we get through all the corona virus stuff and carry on getting out mate. Have a great week Carl..... all the best, Mark

Superb Mark - you always deliver information in a way that's in full should I say. I got many tips from that because although I have a first aid kit I rarely take it out thinking 'oh I'll be fine.' But as you've pointed out that's not always the case. You did a sterling job in treating yourself there. All the best my friend. Take care and be well. Mark

Hi Mark, I hope you have been keeping well mate and having a nice week so far :) I started carrying first aid kits when I was doing a lot of guiding. The insurance companies made sure you had the right kit and safety equipment before you could get the insurance. Plus after a few injuries of my own I thought I had better carry one. Even if it is just a small one. First aid kits are the only items of kit that I buy, but hope I don't use lol. Well unless it is on someone else ;) Thank you for the kind words Mark..... they are very much appreciated :) Have a great week and stay safe, all the best, Mark :)

I never got into the prepping thing, but I bet there are people all over the world that don't regret the money that they spent in the past for such a reason as this. Fair play to them.... they have all the good stuff lol. I don't do so much guiding now, I tend to work on fisheries but I'm a master qualified fly fishing guide and casting instructor. I used to have my own school down in Devon and Cornwall before moving back to the midlands. We did all sorts of courses from week long Dartmoor trips where we would wild camp and fly fish the small rivers for wild brown trout, to fly fishing in the salt for bass and sharks. Hi Mark, i have a very similar kit in a maxpedition pouch as well i keep a little write in the rain pad in mine in case I'm helping someone so i can write any details down that might be useful to the professionals when they arrive. i have a few friends who frequent the great outdoors and don't carry anything first aid wise, they don't want the extra weight for something they hardly ever need i tell them they're crazy all the time as even small injuries can quickly become a nightmare when you're in the middle of nowhere. Take care in these mad times Mark atb Colin.

Hi Colin. I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. I agree, it doesn't have to be a large kit, I always tell the people on the fly fishing courses that even a small first aid kit will always come in handy when you need one. For how much room one takes it's no bother carrying it. I like the idea of something to write information on. I will put a couple of sheets of rite in the rain in the kit. I hope life isn't too crazy for you at the moment Colin. I seem to keep been told not to mingle in groups...... then spend half my time in queues of people looking to see what scraps are left lol. Hi Mark. I'm glad you like the hat mate, I too think Andrew does a cracking job. He's just completed another commision for me, I was lucky enough to get him to make a DILLIGAF patch for my bergen. As for first aid kits, yours put mine to shame mate. I carry some antiseptic cream and a few plasters but for the most part I rely on good old duct tape for cuts. One item I do carry that I was surprised not to see in your kit was pills. I carry a few pain killers and some anti acid. Hope you have a great week mate. Be safe and be lucky. Wol.

I also like the chopping boards he makes. I keep meaning to speak to him about them. I bet the patch will look great when he has done it. The other patch he made was top quality. Yes, when it comes to pills, If I am going out for a day I tend to carry them separate in my pack. Or I have some in my wash kit when camping. Stay away from any coughing people Wol...... Hello Mark, finally got to finish watching this video. Always handy to have a quality aid kit, I really need to step up my game especially with what me and Charlie now get up to in the woods. There have been time were I have clonked my hand with the axe, lucky I can’t sharpen for toffee lol.
I really like the Maxpedition pouch, you covered pretty much every eventuality with what gear you have in there and would fit great to the back of the LK35.
All the best to you mark and look after yourself through all this, look forward to seeing your future videos buddy, Ant 👍

Hi Ant..... Cheers for stopping by mate, it's great to hear from you 👍. Yeah, in my humble opinion a decent first kit is always worth room in the pack. If I am just going for a stroll, then I only usually take a few items. But for camping trips and overnighters, where you are likely to encounter a few more injuries, then i like to carry a kit that should cover the worst. At the end of the day, its everyone to their own, I know people who hardly ever carry one. I suppose they expect to use mine lol. But like you said with Charlie getting more involved it pays to have a few items. Yeah the maxpedition pouches are great. Very hard wearing and a good design too. Fingers crossed I should be out tomorrow. I have got a new wood that I can use, so will go and take a look at it 😀. Stay safe and healthy Ant, all the best, Mark.

I guess it's true, great minds think alike! Just yesterday I was going through my first aid kits and updating them! I carry the liquid skin stuff, too (here it's called NuSkin, but it's the same idea). The light stick is a good idea. I EDC a Fenix flashlight anyway but also carry a headlamp. I never used to carry one until last year now it goes into every pack! They're great. The weather is finally starting to get better so hopefully, I'll be getting out soon. So far, no COVID-19 here. We have a lot of open space and woodland, but they still think it needs to be shut. Maybe i'ts because we do get busy, plus there is a large cafe and guest houses on site and I think it is the gathering of people that they don't want. The article i read was if you had been diagnosed or you were told to self isolate and you are caught out mingling with people, then there is new legislation been brought in so people can be fined £1000 or held for 4 months.
