Its amazing how nice Sonoma looks with green grass
RESPECT for these guys who can actually keep these monsters ON the track.
I like how he just casually adjusts knobs and presses buttons while going over 100MPH.
That was the quickest four minutes of my life! Amazing
I have no idea why my eyes get teary while watching this. What a beautiful sport.
oDJOldskull you should go watch the races this season. Lots of action and IndyCar schooled F1 in on-track competition.
@@CoSmicGoesRacing still not as entertaining though.
@@mabra33 I disagree. I honestly enjoy watching IndyCar races, whether on a road course or an oval. I like the unpredictability of the race outcomes.
F1, yes I can still watch a race in full but I would know who would win majority of the time.
This reminded me of the old on boards of Senna going around Monaco and Suzuka. Awesome.
It's manic because the camera isn't bolted onto the body of the car. Makes such a difference to the perspective of how on the edge he is driving. How it should be.
Except Senna drove a H box and and a more peaky engine, sitting in a cockpit you could punch through with your fist.
Can't say I've ever seen Sonoma green in my lifetime. Looks awesome.
Indycar should have this as their season opener instead of their closer.
That green is way too awesome.
That sound. That green. Great video!
I continue to watch this over and over. Volume on high, ear buds in and listen to the Iceman go to work !!!!!
These cars are like the F1 in 1992
Had to keep catching it Scott, friggin earned your pay that session.
And new/more beautiful cars next year!!
Great video!!!!
Nice drive, Scotty!
looked like he had his hands full awesome video
YES YES YES!!!! nice footage
All sorts of opposite lock from Dixon. Way to pound out the laps!
Fantastic driver.
if it looks fast, its slow
@@psypher514 considering that he's won the IndyCar championship 6 times including thos year I'm pretty sure he's not slow unless your comparing him to F1 drivers or something but that would be stupid.
@@Arirezz he was on par with f1 drivers during tests 15 years ago.
I love how theres no sound from the wind unlike Indycar's visor cams. Is this a different camera?
tommythetreat000 different microphones
Getting loose in Turn 1 like that looks so wild. He barely corrected in time to stay on track. Good stuff 👏
Que lindo es ver algo así. Gracias por compartir. saludos desde Argentina.
Se nota que los indy tienen menos ángulo de giro comparado con un f1
So nice
what I dont get is how the wobbles when you hit a bump and move the steering wheel it doesn't send him into a wall
Amazing to see him wrestling the wheel. I wish f1 didn't have power steering, but I guess with the speeds the f1 cars are going now, it would be way too hard to steer.
As a Kiwi. Scott Dixon is our most successville international driver in our motor sport history .- others - Denny Hulme 67, F1 world Champ & CanAm champ. i wish f1 didnt have that stupid thing that obstructs the drivers view as its not even a windshield
@@fargeeks it has saved multiple lives and when you are driving the car you hardly notice it.
Sonoma is such a great track. I wish it hosted more events. Perhaps GT3 or similar classes.
That kick in the butt when he switches gears !
Great video ! Love it !
What is the camera ? I want the same !
As a F1 fan, I have to say it's one of my favourite tracks, and I would like to see some cheaper F1 machinery with more sane materials and costs, more honesty, more Indy like, because if something drives and sounds like this, and costs waaaaay less than F1 cars' R&D and manufacturing, and races well, then that's very good for grand prix racing. It is very cool and I don't care the lap time difference at all. My favourite part is the last third's esses section, especially with the layout without the last chicane.
Awesome! I wonder if Dixon still remembers me helping him when he ran Formula Holden? lol
Left Foot Brake thumbs up for your name
amazing
I miss this track
iRacing devs should take note of how much this car is sliding around. Lots of progressive oversteer that the driver can correct.
I hate how stubborn the rest of the iRacing community is about this, like not being able to push the car just takes away a lot of the fun in racing tbh
I believe they do get that input from the real world drivers but it seems hard to implement into a game, dunno.
@@user-eq7zq6so3j iracing codebase is realistically 14 years old. a new sim is needed
This kicks F1 right in the nuts
Blimey that's bumpy!
Sonoma looks very green
was just about to say this too. i thought sonoma was very brown like laguna seca
Both are green in the winter and spring.
That's why they should Race there when it's Winter or Spring.
Sahil M i know right i go there all the time
Is it not very expensive when You go there all the Time?
Or is it specific on a Racing Weekend like IndyCar or Nascar?
Amazing view... very slippery track
why do nascar and indycar use different variations of the same circuit?
Semi automatic or fully automatic gearbox?
That's alot of oversteer from his car. By far the most I have seen with one of these videos. Cold tyres or just his preferred setup? Brilliant footage though.
Preferred setup, loose is fast! If you're under-steering in an open wheel car you're in big trouble.. Look how much earlier he can get on the throttle than the pigot onboard
I thought it was understeer.
@@lameduck3630 Oversteer. There's a lot of corrections he made on that lap
He wasn't backing off the throttle much at all though, so it's very well setup
I would say cold tires. Race tires need sometimes 3 to 4 laps to gain temperature properly. Oversteer helps In a qualy lap but that much snap could lead to loosing time too
O carro era muito arisco e exigia muito do piloto principalmente por falta de eletrônica de correção embarcada como na F-1. Por isso esses carros puro sangue encantam Hamilton, Alonso, Mansell, Piquet e outras feras da velocidade.
Some pretty aggressive high-end gearing ratios going on.
What a track.
Wish they would add this to the F1 calendar.
Way to narrow track and to many jump-hills for the F1. It would be too dangerous to drive there F1.
Show!!!
I had to watch this 5 times. Each time I focused on something different. Just watch the steering wheel. I think the white button on the left side is pit speed limiter cause when he hits it the car takes off. Paddles left is downshift right is upshift. Notice that there is a map of the track in the middle. Just lots and lots is going on with that thing. No wonder they take it with them when they crash. Maybe it is like a computer/driver/car interface. I also notice that Scotts hands are very busy. Is this normal for this track because of the off camber changes and elevation differences? Where does one find more specific information about this fascinating machine?
Thanks for this comment. Having spent some of coronavirus time watching old F1 and Indy car films, you are correct in saying there is a lot going on here. Might be interesting to hear what someone who has driven the cars through the decades would say about that. Paging Mario.
They should move this race to the beginning of the season so that the landscaping is nice and green
0:23 Beeep beeeeep!
Why do these sound 10 times better than F1 when F1 cars are only slightly smaller displacement. I like the even competition of American racing series (NASCAR/Indy Car), F1 has its head up its technological arse.
Seen both in person and Indy now sounds better and the racing is better. F1 just sounds like a long quiet fart. The F1 V8's and V10's sound way better than Indy but this drive for efficiency and turbo's etc...in F1 is crap and ruining the sport. Hopefully the new Yankee owner will do something about it and we can finally kiss goodbye to the shit position Ecclestone put the series in. In any case the driver plays more of a role in Indy, you could put Maldonado in a Merc and he'd win the championship.
Have you heard the v6 Honda sound? They sound much better than this.
they should have the visor cam in f1 that would be cool
Circuito bem F1 pra Indy
What a truck!!
Visor Cam is super cool but if it was a ultra-wide cam it would be yet cooler!
Gameplay of Project Cars 2? :P
You should try image stabilizer...
Compared to a modern F1 car this looks positively jurassic.
Uau
At Monaco of course.
Green Sonoma scares me
this seems a dangerous sport.. :D
Nowadays, Sonoma no longer had green grass ones.
Show this to the iracing devs and they will probably still not believe how the indycars actually handle
I would have really really liked to have seen this on Senna’s Honda.
That car is all over the place..,
I wish Formula 1 had these cameras on their helmets
PC2 has great graphics
Always weird seeing grass there.
The front end of that car is light in turn 2.
Hey that's the track that's not anymore in Gran Turismo , but without the nice graphics
I hate Scott Dixon, but he's such a badass driver. He's gonna be the top driver of IndyCar.
Есть недочёты в траектории
sound remind me a 3 cylinders motorbike
Compare his hand movements to those of Jim Clarke and Jackie Stewart. They were much smoother. Reduced jerkiness gives better lap times.
Hey dumbass did you realize while making these comparisons that this is a completely different car from what those two drove over 40 years ago?
Prefer the other layout, with the fast section of corners...
What I'd give to be a race car driver.....
GP2
It,s Formula 1 sound
3 часа ночи, спросите нахуя я это смотрю?
Я сам не знаю...
😭😭😭😭😭😱😱😱😱😱😱😭😭😭😭
Seems the car is a bit low on downforce.
looks like a very bumpy track. either or the car’s got some serious suspension issues
the indycar have same song like formula one i feel
Is it just me or this looks like 1980s f1 on-board
if that was 1980s then you sure as hell would never see a steering wheel with electronics on it of any sort, and you would see the driver actually use the shift stick
The driver must be exhausted, at all times correcting the trajectory, how far these F1 cars are.
These are indycars🙄🙄
@@sssj9978 Yes, they are Indi, I say that they are very far from F1 cars
Sounds like my lawnmower.
delugo
Oh man that looks so glitchy and wonky compared to a F1 car xD lots of fun still though
No power steering. A bare ones rougher racing experience.
Why is he so high
where is 7th gear?
ive seen some somewhat onboard videos of indy cars that were only 5 speeds
@@fargeeks its high downforce. The 7th gear is for the cambered low downforce tracks. For speeds up to 240 but i figured theyd have different gear ratios
I have no feeling of the speed there, it seems like braking too early and not enough engine braking (maybe the car gets too unsettled if pushed). anywho, I'm sure he knows what he is doing!
Please bring ChampCar, I mean IndyCar, back to Laguna Seca. It's a much better track instead of U-turns and chicanes.
I loved Laguna Seca. Remember "The Pass"? Miss the Corkscrew. Bring back Laguna seca!!!!!
And your wish has been given. Laguna Seca is now the season finale, replacing Sonoma.
O ese auto está mal puesto a punto o el piloto lo "brutea" mucho.
Corre
Jc
Look like no power steering instead
Reendez l'argent aux zaboné absent lololololo
The graphics are ok, not great. Not 60 fps.
Miért fékez ?!
right now be honest. who put an F1 engine in this Indy?
Nice, but these cars can't hold a candle to F1. Even the "slowest" F1 car of today (Williams) will smoke these IndyCars. Probably not around an oval thou as the IndyCars are built for speed.
Aren't Indy cars more for oval circuits? The car seemed to be very difficult to drive, no chance against F1 cars.
F1 team's yearly cost's are between 150 - 425 million $ as of 2019. An F1 power unit likely costs more than or around 10 million $ (without it's R&D!!). And they had a strong intention to exclude the power unit from the planned cost cap. Does that sound honest, an utter willing of change, or just some projection of richest corporate's will? F1 delaying simplified aero package's delivery while that would be cheaper again. While Indy has many races where they are racing instead of complaining about dirty air. Fielding an Indy team can be done from some million $ compared to F1's 100 millions. Driver salaries are something like 2-3 millions for top drivers compared to 10 millions for top drivers at F1. The recent F1 midfield drivers signed into Indycar were not really more than midfield drivers there. Do you think that being just a bit more than 10 seconds faster around an average GP circuit makes up for multiple 100 millions and lots of dishonesty?
Indy's and F2's machinery costs are much closer. 2020's F2 season is very nice and looks amazing, nice new talents Armstrong, Schwartzman, Zhou, and many more! Simpler aero, less aero sensitivity, try to watch some races and enjoy. Great, but considering F2 is a development series, that's pricy, and that's induced by F1. Indy is not a development series, most of the rookies and not talented guys are hammered there. Even worse F1 is drowning in it's own money so much that many of F2 champions not getting an F1 drive, many talents dropping out even without a downwards career trajectory, after a few years like: Nakajima, Kobayashi, Di Resta, Wehrlein etc. They are drowning in the money but the formula is too pricy to be changed so they are using it for 15 years, while it could be much more exciting, and way cheaper!!!! if some of the reliability rules would be relaxed. Even with higher reliability than today, you can't factor our luck and random events, so pay this insane price for it? Research and development at todays world is completely fine without F1, and will achieve many things (hopefully). Most of the guys don't need anything that's "developed at F1" according to some TV advertisement. A formula (set of rules) having costs of Indy could be changed way more often without bankrupting the smaller teams. That would provide challenge for engineers, what used to be part of pinnacle of motorsport. Car's with lesser reliability and simpler aero would produce greater and more exciting and dramatic races. Instead of doing so they often back off and chicken out if some team develops some super improvement, and they often have to ban it in some races, because they are bound so much to that big money that they can't hurt other participant's interests. And there are the other things where scrutineering founds out something hellish scandalous. They can't punish too much, because that would again hurt too much some interests. They are bound to money at such an ill level, they would need baller leaders, flaming swords to redeem themselves or I don't know what to do Mr., really sorry.
Modern Indy has many road races, and less ovals than previously as I percieve. (I'm an European guy who wacthes mainly F1, but I always considered Indy a great top level championship.)
Sonoma is slightly oldschool and a bit dangerous with F1's measurements, but a very nice track. I'm not really surprised that he has to fight with the wheel quite much, power is not much less, aero is much simpler. I don't say F1 should have very specificated and simple aero, but definitely needs to simplify it, because their cars are damn aero sensitive, so they can't fight that much. I would watch great drivers driving lower classes or diva cars instead of driving roadtrains.
Probably the difficulty is responsible for having the "challenge part" that used to be around racing for a long while :)
incredible.... a american race car making turns both sides.... that´s new.. lol.
Stupid troll
Enfim, a ignorância
meh...
