- MK4 R32 Turbo, the ultimate Wookie. We took this completely stock MK4 R32 from Japan and gave it a whole new life. This is a simple headspacer motor which has been proven time and time again. It made great power and shows just a glimpse of the power these engines are capable of.

Best thing ever is his face when you hit it at 6psi 🤣🤣🤣🤣 "That's more than enough!" Love it. Amazing work guys. Beautiful car.
XO. Thanks
It goes from *wookie noises* to *PANICED WOOKIE NOISES* when the boost kicks in, even just 6psi. Love it.
Can’t wait for this, this is my grail car, I want to buy one and fix it up nice. The best looking golf ever made.
You know the Quebecer loves his car when he goes Tabarna..... Thanks for the vid giys. Back to my garage now to work on my VR fleet.
Get to it!
Absolutely in love with these cars have been for a long time they are such a nice sounding engine
got to love the customers reaction. you can truly see how happy it makes you as well to see the reaction. that's what it's all about
Agreed
Great work guys, especially showing the customers reaction at the end. His smile and comments said it all.
Yeah not all customers want to be on camera, or want to go beat their car around the city.. however this one worked out.
Guys Face , is priceless, he doesnt need anything more , Happy man
This is a dream car not many have
As always, fantastic work gentleman!
Much appreciated
Been a long time fan...I'm moving into the Halifax area for work and I'm super excited to get my mk4 Jetta 1.8T in....im in Miramichi now but moving to the area by end of month.....so pumped to see the shop and get my car right :)
We're hoping to be racing in Miramichi next weekend. With something not sure what yet lol.
Thanks for another quality video and build! I loved the reaction grins at the end. You guys always motivate me to do something to the MKIV.
Glad you liked. Now get to work. 🙂
That smoker was awesome.
2x the atmosphere 2x the power
I love that sound!
Hard not to love
Wicked car. Nice work!!
Owners reaction was awesome, btw I'm not opposed to seeing you move the cars around the shop
Great to see some Canadian content. Keep up the good work.
Appreciate it, thanks.
love watching yalls videos!!!...I think hands down best performance tuner for vw...America needs a CO Mororsport shop I have very little tuners here and lots of volkswagens around lol
Appreciate the love.
I can’t believe you got that much out of that car holy shit, amazing work
It did it with ease... would make 500whp at probably 17-18psi the way it was going.
Great as always guys!! Let's see some drag car, Clayton MK1 and donor R footage!!
We're trying to get some time in on those as well. Donor R is causing me headaches at this point.
Phenomenal
Your content is fantastic love it keep ‘em coming.
Appreciate it
Absolute perfection boys! Love the fact that it literally looks bone stock. Makes me want one even more now lol
Side note. Definitely will be ordering that smoke tester. I ordered the ECS boost leak tester this past winter when I was chasing boost leaks on the B6. Thought I had hooked it up wrong initially cause all you could hear was oil gurgling in the oil pan. Double checked, and I definitely hooked it up right lol. So totally not a fan of that.
and whats wrong with the leak tester if the pressure goes into your oil pan?
@@MK4DubsCustoms no idea, nobody could give me a straight answer on that lol
Can you guys make a video on what parts you need to turbo a 24v 2.8L vr6? There’s not a lot of support for us 2.8’s out there and I would love your professional input.
All the same parts required for a 12v or 3.2v are required for the 24v.
Love your videos on vrt builds give me motivation to finish mine 👊👏
Appreciate the comments. Now get to work. Lol
Perfect timing...
Great video...I liked the whole thing
Glad you liked
@@COMotorsports I usually watch the regular videos but this was really cool because of the driving impressions afterwards... kinda completes a great build
@@johnmoser2689 Yeah not everyone wants to be on camera, also not every person feels comfortable jumping in their car that's making double the power to go beat on it for video. lol This one worked out and we'll share them when we can.
Would love one of these, awesome machine
Agreed.
@@COMotorsports upwards of 15k here in the UK for a clean one :o
@@its_cyfa they won't get any cheaper.
Liked & Subscribed !! Amazing content guys thx
Appreciate it. 👍
Cool video
Great video guys. I would have really loved to see more about what you had to do for the intake and throttle body, im fitting mine right now have have clearance issues with the upper radiator coolant pipe and i know i will get issues with the fans.
clearance clearance clearance.
That's what it's about the smile on the customers face! Ha awesome 👌
Agreed.
amazing
Smiles per mile! 👍💪🙂
Jesus, what a beaut!!!
Fuck yeah!
Yup
cool project :)
I don't get how the R32 is so hyper popular but the lighter and better looking TT 3.2 is practically ignored in America.
Unlikely the TT is lighter. Audi I've owned one, super impartial car. Hatchback is way more versatile.
When I do smoke test I also use soapy water and look for bubbles
Not a bad idea. This smoke tester actually rocks and always does the trick.
@@COMotorsports you guys do great work! I like the vw content! I been at a vw dealer for 15 years as a tech so all I do is stock replacements, here and there have done a k04, i do stage 1 apr flashes but we don’t have a dyno yet. My boss is buying one soon Tho so I’m going to be studying your videos and diagnosing laggy boost lol I really like when your are explaining your thought process during videos
@@GerardoVw1 appreciate the comments. 👍
I made my smoke tester with a mason jar 3 feet of tube and my lungs. Nice job crazy eyes
So I have my Emu black for my BFH 3.2 motor just scratching my head a little about placing the map sensors on it . So do I drill new holes to the short runner and splice the maf for the mass and intake temp
this one looks exactly like my wife's. minus turbo, taking notes.
It's an easy combo and defiantly brings life into a car that needed it IMO.
So what’s the update on Kayla’s R32. I’m not sure if you guys have talked about it in a different video, but I fell out of the loop with UA-cam in general for a little bit. I’m catching up now lol
Much more power. Engines on the stand, more parts to acquire as transmission is not gonna wanna play with whats in store...so transmission needs love also.
Dis you disable the awd?
This guy definitely gonna baby it, he will probably drive it a 6 psi lol
No as soon as he made the trip home the boost controller was back on. :)
Excellent work guys. Question, what clutch setup did you use?
FX400
Good day guys I've been watching a few of your videos now and I was wondering if my vw Mk5 BHY 2.0 8v can be turbo and what will I need to make that happen I would like to make about 200kw out of it engine is stock NA
Love this build. Which cams though?
We liked it too. Stock head/cams
Great content guys. I’m over here on the west coast Vancouver area. Have myself a mk4 r32 and want to boost it in the future. Do you guys offer some kind of kit or anything for the r32? Or have interest in building a specific kit?
HPA is literally in my backyard but they’re big money as we all know. If there’s an email I can get in touch with you guys and talk about a build, that would be awesome. Cheers
You can email us through our website, we can provide almost everything you need for a kit.
Love this car. Was that the UM 550cc ECU you had before or you freshly tuned the Japanese ECU?
Already tuned 550cc ECU. It had all the features and add ons on it already, including immob off.
Can I relocate my map sensor from my discharge pipe pre intercooler to my intake manifold? Grams high flow intake manifold 1.8t mk4 Jetta, thanks in advance.
Of course
I heard 441 what hp? With just a simple head spacer? 👀
Yeah and a turbo. Lol
I thought the mk4 r32’s were awd?
They are
A 3.2VR6 at 12lbs. making around 450whp seems kind of low or is that just me?
It's you, cause in the video it says 428whp and 13psi. Lol
Y s'en allait dire Tabarnak Hahaha
Love these videos and the work that goes into the cars. Wish you were in the UK!
Do you guys think 450whp / 500 @ the crank is achievable with just a head spacer motor running a gt3582?
Would 550cc injectors be enough for this?
We made 490WHP on this setup in the other car with better fuel at around 17-18psi. So to answer your question, yes.
@@COMotorsports what kind of fuel pump in this one from the vid?
@@MK4DubsCustoms just a DW drop in.
I want to turn my 87 16v Scirocco into a monster. What platform would you suggest? Stay with the 4cyl or try to find a VR6 for a swap? I have also considered the 1.8T.
It all comes down to power goals and budget. They'll all make the same power one way or another.
@CO Motorsports very true. Unfortunately the FWD has its drawbacks when additional horse power is applied. AWD is my preference, but that can be costly.
Any recommendations on what clutch to get for a 1.8t awp engine with a 5 speed transmission?
All comes down to power and what it's used for. Lots of options.
Pour moi le r32 c est le porsche d on je rêve 🙏
You want to pick up my r32 from nyc and make it turbo, just little over 50k original miles
You can ship it to us no problem. This one had under 50k miles on it actually. Similar candidate.
Am looking to do the same thing and am from canada to what the price tag on that
All comes down to power goals, quality of parts used, future goals, and who's doing the work. Basically it's like asking "how much is a house?".... There's lots of variables.
@@COMotorsports let’s say same exact set up and parts i wood be more then happy with
👌
Nothing.... absolutely nothing... sounds as good as a VR engine on boost. Great build guys.
Oil returns needing to sit above the oil line is Myth. If Your system is built correctly and You ventilate your block properly it does not matter. There are multi OEM vehicles with their turbo oil returns sitting below the oil level. If you understand fluid dynamics and u-tube monometers it will make sense.
It is not a myth. Try telling that to a Precision turbo.
@@COMotorsports Ya they all (turbo manufacturers) give the specs for return position and turbo core angle limits for good draining etc etc. In reality however..... It can be done if everything else is setup correctly.
@@raindeergames6104Well aware, we build endless turbo kits, for a very long time. We've used pretty much every turbo brand. I'm just saying precision turbos do not typically like being run into the bottom of the pan. Their center sections can't keep up compared to a Garrett.
@@COMotorsports Ive had my share of PT turbo problems aswell. Took the oil feed fitting out of the turbo that supplied from OEM and the whole bearing cartridge on the inside rotated and count for the life of me not get the pil feed fitting back in had to send the turbo back. Anyways.... As always awesome work guys
Where you guys located?
East Coast Canada
Oh that's dope I'm in WA state I started watching your guys channel few months back and I love your content and the builds I have 2004.5 gli 1.8t
I am looking at boosting my scirocco 16v. What do you recommend for a turbo kit?
Well there really aren't kits. So it just comes down to power goals and the quality of parts you piece together to meet those goals.
What's the cost for a project like this
That's like asking "how much is a house". Lots of things to consider, condition of engine you're starting with, current mods, quality of parts, power goals, labor rates in your area... And on and on.
How much can stock bottom handles? And can it be a good idea for daily? Thanks
It comes down to fuel really. This has a headspacer to drop compression to help with knock on pump gas. This current power level on 91oct would liver for many many many years it's not stressing at all here. The perk of the 3.2 is that it doesn't take much boost to make power. If this was run strictly on E85 I wouldn't even have done the spacer.
@@COMotorsports thanks for the info......my R32 still fun but sluggish. I can use some hp.
@@johnnychimpo2928 very sluggish. Lol
Hey. What ecu You runing?
It's stock ECU in this car.
@@COMotorsports
Miracle. Thank You.
Did you let him test at 12psi?
Yeah, we turned the controller on right after i said that... looks like that part got dropped out of the final cut.
Its Fast as F*** 😂🤣🤣
FWD not 4 motion?
100% AWD. It's an R32
@@COMotorsports gotcha just looked weird that the rear wheels were tied down guessing everything was unhooked in the rear due to the type of the Dyno type.
@@josh4787 simply unplug the haldex. These are FWD biased systems.
Isn't an r32 all wheel drive?
Yes, but they can disable the Haldex for dynoing.
I miss my mark4 . I’d love to find a clean one that isn’t best to shit. Lol
There's still some out there. Buy now as the price will only go up for the clean ones.
@@COMotorsports all the ones I see in the Midwest are clapped out rusted or have like over 1/4 million miles with a 2 step tune.
stock engine?
Headspacer
Any r32 turbo should make at least 380/380 ALL wheel….
Sooooo no more gti 1.8t or what….. it’s been months now mmmmm weird
Why is it weird? It's still exists as the POS it was.
👍👍👍🇦🇺
You are seriosly? this is thermal tape for exhaust manifold, not for intake 🤦🏻♂️. This band holds the temperature, not protects against it
So your saying it only works one way, come on. Lol
We want 07k project next pleaseeeeeeeee😩
Stuff is coming... however time isn't our friend.
🤣🤣🤣you made my entire week!!! thanks guys for showing the oil return, I guess i need to change mine now. 14psi with pump is 410bhp!!! awesomeness!!!! i made 320bhp at 5psi and had a slippy clutch! now im heading back to the dyno after assembly, of the new clutch. please check out the video i'll be dropping on my channel, @road_2_pow_r .. im hoping to hit about 450(optimistic🤣🤣) reaching a quarter mile of 12.5sec, 🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the love!!! you still the best
Glad you caught it, and best of luck. It did 428whp at 12.5psi looking through the data. Would make 500whp with very little effort the way it was going.
