Man, you put up some great numbers. Big respect. I've been a huge fan of this car for a while. Yours has been my template for modifying mine. Where am I going to get good, in depth content for my Rabbit now? I hope that you get what you want for it.
I guess our turbo rabbits will never meet if you sell it 🤧 Detailed video explaining the build, nice work. I know the struggle you went through, it aint easy.
Holy fucking shit dude! That’s some damn good numbers! Glad you put up this vid, this will get the 2.5 group in a stir lol You didn’t mention this but is the a stock bottom end and head?
Instead of trading in my truck for a new MK8 GTI. I kept my truck and bought a 2.5 as a second car because of your videos. It’s a mk6 Jetta tho, 5 speed
Thanks! That means alot. Once the Rabbit is gone I'm likely going to no longer make 2.5 specific videos, but may merge to a video podcast largely about cars. Of course I will be talking about 2.5s alot lol. A buddy of mine is already working out bugs to a digital workstation and recording music, we just need mics and record voice and start writing the structure out for the podcast.
Interesting numbers!! Im hoping to go turbo next month and was wondering how much HP/ TQ it could take looks like 400 is the way to go 🤩 amazing!!! Doing stock internals myself but 550cc injectors full custom 3 inch exhaust 80mm trottle body and a IE intake and a RS3 fuel pump
Similar to my setup. I kept the stock throttle body because upgrading is pointless. IE intake manifold is designed for the stock throttle body and being 3" we are already bigger than the GTIs.
I won't be posting about the car again. I sold it a few weeks ago. But if by chance the new owner makes a channel I will make a video to bring people to him.
For now, just my daily. 2013 Toyota Camry 2.5L (ironically) Reliable and good on gas. Saving money to buy land. Once I buy land and start making rental money from it, I'll buy another fun car.
Cheapest and easiest route is UM, you'll need to email them with your VIN and ECUs box code to see if they have a file for your specific ECU. Standard turbo file runs $950 and if you use an aftermarket intake manifold then the tune costs an extra $250. On the other hand, ECUmasters is a better option as far as tuning support and being able to make more power on stock internals (or a built engine) just costs more. At least double.
If you have spark blowout at high boost / rpm, you should _tighten_ the gap, my factory turbo car likes NGK gapped at .028 / .711mm. Factory spec is 0.32 /.81mm
Congrats my man. Sad to see it go. Hopefully, it will get a deserving owner
Awesome Build! Great Numbers bro. I love that Rabbit.
My 07 has 192k on it. It’s been a solid car, still going strong. I’ve been wanting to boost mine for a good while.

Been waiting for this!!

Yeah man. To reach a point like this is no easy feat. Especially with a family, daughter, and building a career in the mix.
Bro I want to see more videos on your car I’m planning to put a turbo on my 2008 rabbit because of you
Come to calgary we can meet up 😃
@@boostedrabbit for sure dude I would love to do that
@@boostedrabbit I want to boost mine. what turbo and manifold should i buy?
Holy shitt been waiting for this to drop
Glad I got to ride in it!
Want mine like this one day
Let's gooo!
Holy fucking shit dude! That’s some damn good numbers! Glad you put up this vid, this will get the 2.5 group in a stir lol

Yep 100% stock internals.
@@SubsurfacePodcast what a testament!

Nice move. Very reliable man.
I love your videos honestly

Bro definitely have to Dyno mine soon AKA ASAP I'm on 15lb...and boost creep one time @22lbs😳🥵.. definitely back off
Man I wish this was doable with the 09g
Impressive!
Thanks man
2.5 ❤
Sucks mine came with power steering pump, i was checking forums someone said its possible to convert to electric steering
Where is the crank case/ oil breather hooked up too?
Nice!
Any tutorials for the GTI breaks?
Nah. They are just like replacing stock brakes. Just buy GTI rotors, pads, feont calipers and caliper carrier.
Hey Im doing a 07k 6 speed swap into a 07 gti. do you have a way I could reach you to pick your brain about some of the details?
Still got this?
I do!
What internals if any are you running? Love the video btw you’ve been so beneficial with all your information provided! Keep it up
100% stock internals

That's the Innovate SCG-1 boost control setup.
thanks

Hey Matt been awhile. Do you know if it would be easy to install bosch 550cc to a mk6 jetta the website says for mk5
Could you send me the links to where you are posting it especially the FB groups. Thank you.
This link should work.

How much tq can the 5spd take?
What guide did you use to
Change that steering wheel and airbag?
Just followed someone on Facebook honestly. A long time ago.
Where did you get those wheels you have in the front
Bought them used from a guy. They are Konig but I don't remember the model.
So... What are you driving these days?
For now, just my daily. 2013 Toyota Camry 2.5L (ironically)
Reliable and good on gas.
Saving money to buy land. Once I buy land and start making rental money from it, I'll buy another fun car.
And also do you have to do custom tuning to run 550cc or would the ecu just run them
Tune the factory ECU. United Motorsport offers tunes for that.
Does the engine have any internal work?
No it's all stock
@@SubsurfacePodcast It's a badass car! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
the Interior engine are stock?
Yes sir. Completely stock internals.
I'm about to turbo my 2011 2.5l. I hope to make same power. Would you suggest a stand Alone ecu or UM flash?
Cheapest and easiest route is UM, you'll need to email them with your VIN and ECUs box code to see if they have a file for your specific ECU. Standard turbo file runs $950 and if you use an aftermarket intake manifold then the tune costs an extra $250.

@Florida 07K Hey, thanks for responding. I'll try UM to start with and I'll keep you posted on the build🫡
How much?
I'm going to be posting it up for 11,500. But before it sells I'm going to replace the headliner and windshield.
@@SubsurfacePodcast on what website?
@@carlos_ar I'll post it on Facebook (various MKV and 2.5L groups) as well as "Bring a Trailer" or Autotrader.

Did that. It was around .028 but after the dyno I went to .024
@@SubsurfacePodcast Roger that. It was a cool build. I5 turbo sounds ftw.
