The unmistakeable Willie Winfield-His voice sends chills down my spine no matter which song he sings. Lord, this country needs more of this music. They should require a course in school.
Dicey Galloway just passed, Cita passed recently along with Lowe. Thank God Willie is still around. One of the best group of all times. I must have seen them 50 times and every show was better than the previous ones. Dr. Doo Wop
Listen to the rest of the group singing with Mr. Winfield---outstanding. The young one's out there today have an opportunity to sing like the Harptones, but their mind is fog up with the sound of stupid rap. Watching Willie Winfield, and the group sing this great song gives me goose bumps.
Ahhh..Willie and The Harptones! Sounds as good in 94 as it did in 53! Sunday Kind of Love was the closest they came to a top 40 hit, but they were still one of the most influential Doo Wop groups of all time and also one of the best! Love this stuff!!!
Willie still makes his rounds along east coast NY, LI and such. On L.I. Sat Nov 19 for LARenterprises 18 group show. Still has an incredible voice, listen to an original record and then to him today and tell me differently. Lost his wife a couple months ago and sadly, but touching, gets emotional on stage while dedicating a song to her. God Bless him, a true legend! Let Beiber or Gaga be doing this 60 years later, never happen
I remember this as one of the first great songs that ushered in doowop in the early 50's and ushered out all of the boring crap of the 40's. It was one of the first songs I ever bought.
I'll make this as short as possible, Best Doo--wop Group ever! The only thing better than listening to Willie, was talking to him, his voice reflected who he is, THANKFUL to have had privilege to meet him---- WILLIE WINFIELD #1
HEY, don't forget about the guy playing piano back there,Mr. Raul Cita who wrote the song !!!! and sang on it !!!!! can't forget Cita !! ERIK VONDERLIETH
The Chantels did a version of this song years ago, don't think is was released but was on their collectors album, Arlene was fantastic as usual, these guys did a really nice live performance too!
I met Willie Winfield in the Brill Bldg in NYC about 1955. Leo Rogers was The Harptones manager. I was just what they call a "wannabe". I thought Willie was class act, a real decent guy. Time passes, I'm almost 72.
this audience is really pissing me. they act like they are bored; this is one of the greatest groups ever. you people should have stayed home and watched re-runs of lawrence welk.
I would have expected them to give the group a real welcome. It sounded like three people may have applauded their appearance. This group made some real Doo Wop back in the day
+Robert Brown I'm sure the audience welcomed them warmly before their first song. However, this was almost certainly not their first number. What you see here is only one second before they started singing "Memories". The applause from the previous song had ended by then.
The saddest of days, we've lost Willie, what a loss, one of the greatest voices of our music is gone!!
This is a beautiful masterpiece of music from willie winfield and the harptones classic doo wopp love you willie winfield
The unmistakeable Willie Winfield-His voice sends chills down my spine no matter which song he sings. Lord, this country needs more of this music. They should require a course in school.

I love everything the Harptones and the Spaniels made. My two all time favorites.
RIP Willie. Loved your music!

Harptones were a great group with another great song. What memories.
What a great group. Willie is one of the finest people in the business. Love also seeing Johnny Gale playing in the band.
I can remember buying this on a 78 RPM record in 1952 or 1953,,,,,
That would have been hard to do since the record was released in 1954! LOL
THIS IS JUST SO PURE. REAL DOO WOP. THANK YOU FOR SHARING
Rich willie passed last night
Doo wop at its very best. Ahh the memories.

Doo Wop, the greatest sounding music to one's ear.
Beautiful music!!!
life is but a dream. the first do wop song i remember was the start for me
The guitar player on this video is Kenny Vance and the Planatones musical director, but that sure is Willie

They sound great!!!!
Should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame…
great 5 stars
nothing else to say
That looks like Johnny Gale, bandleader for Kenny Vance, playing back there.
Willie still lives in Brooklyn with wife, Alice and, possibly, other relatives. He's had health problems, and is now 82 years young!
RIP Mr Fi-tone Lowe Murray
Top ten ALL Time in my book.
(Something’s wrong, I've made the same comment for over 50 songs).
Awesome
Mientras conservas en tu memoria,a una persona que pasó por tu experiencia amándola;nunca su jóven imágen se borrará de tu retina y corazón.
Sounds just like the original record. The Harptones were in a league of their own.
Very good
Henry if you still a life , remember tha I dedicated this song to yo. Memories of you by the harptones ....
Alice passed away not too long ago.. as far as I know Willie and Cita are both well and still performing (tho not as often nowadays)
RIP!

Is this group still performing, where, when, i'll be there??????

Sure you did.
Johnny Gale on the guitar... Is there anyone he hasn't backed up???... Lol
If they only new what they were missing. Shame on them.
